Chapter 426: Chapter 424 The Eldest Missโ€™s Training Camp Plan_1

Setagaya District, the Phoenix Academy estate. ๐Ÿ๐•ฃ๐—ฒ๐•–๐•จ๐—ฒ๐›๐—ป๐—ผ๐ฏ๐—ฒ๐š•.๐—ฐ๐š˜๐ฆ

The morning classes had finished, and there was a full hour for lunch break. Phoenix Academy Maggie saw off her home tutor before stretching lazily on the spot and leaving the classroom.

Outside the door, Miwa Kazuki and Mike quickly followed behind her, heading to the dining room along the veranda outside the living room.

Along the way, she saw a man in priestly garb with several other people walking in the garden, seemingly investigating something.

Noticing this, Phoenix Academy Maggie asked, turning her head, "Miwa, who is he?"

Miwa Kazuki glanced at him and replied respectfully, "Miss, he is Supreme Leader Togashi Teppei from the Divine Heart Sect. The Madam invited him over to set up an altar and ask for divine protection for the Phoenix Academy family."

Phoenix Academy Maggieโ€™s eyebrows furrowed slightly. She was aware that after the issue with the Different World became public, the already numerous religions within the country had sprung up like bamboo shoots after a rain, sprouting wildly. On major video websites like TikTok and YouTube, many new or established vloggers claimed to possess ancient Qigong Techniques or abilities such as super-sensory perception and spirit summoning, among others. The massive online traffic took a nostalgic leap back to the eighties and nineties, sparking a global craze for supernatural powers. Phoenix Academy Maggie could guess what they were thinking: it was all about scamming money. But what she hadnโ€™t expected was that even her mother would be pulled into it. Couldnโ€™t she tell that this man was a fraud?

"Heโ€™s a scam artist."

Her words caused Miwa Kazuki to break out in a cold sweat. He said softly, "Miss, the Supreme Leader is different from the others; he is genuinely capable. Many people with unbearable headaches, who found no relief from various hospitals, were cured after the Supreme Leader established an altar and sought divine blessings for them. The Madam invited him because of his reputation."

"I see. So she values his reputation."

Understanding her motherโ€™s thoughts, Phoenix Academy Maggie realized that her mother likely didnโ€™t believe in the Supreme Leader, but others did. As long as some people believed, that belief could be utilized. It would make those people think the Phoenix Academy family was under divine protection, thus reassuring them to invest or collaborate. And the Phoenix Academy family would only have to spend a little money to gain that reputation; it wasnโ€™t a bad deal.

Phoenix Academy Maggie withdrew her gaze and headed towards the living room. Her phone chimed. She took it out to see a voice message from Yoshikawa Sayuri.

"Maggie, listen! This morning, Hojo-kun and I went on an adventure to Higashiojima Go-chome in Arakawa District, and you wouldnโ€™t believe it, the cursed house actually exists! There was a Ghost inside, and it even undressed Hojo-kun and me and threw our clothes outside! You absolutely wouldnโ€™t believe it, but in the end, the Ghost was actually sucked up by a vacuum cleaner! Isnโ€™t that hilarious?"

Her tone was full of excitement, clearly eager to share this incredible news with her friend.

A look of astonishment flashed across Phoenix Academy Maggieโ€™s face, and her brows gradually knitted together. In her mind, all these events should have been orchestrated by either Dio or, in other words, Aozawa. But what she couldnโ€™t comprehend was how Aozawa could have produced Ghosts or Monsters. After thinking it over, Phoenix Academy Maggie still couldnโ€™t guess what kind of Superpower it was. Was it merely creating life forms? Or creating urban legends? She always felt it wasnโ€™t something so simple; it seemed to be a deeper Ability. Yet she couldnโ€™t conceive what that Ability might be.

Pulling her far-reaching thoughts back, she was mindful of the two people behind her. She didnโ€™t send a voice message but typed a reply instead, "Eh? In that case, does that mean you have no secrets in front of Tetsuji?"

The message she sent was swiftly marked as read.

However, the reply wasnโ€™t immediate.

Phoenix Academy Maggie could imagine Yoshikawa Sayuri on the other end, blushing profusely, wanting to explain but not knowing how, looking utterly bewildered and adorable. She knew that this message would shift Yoshikawa Sayuriโ€™s focus away from discussing the supernatural event.

Concerned about her status, Phoenix Academy Maggie didnโ€™t want to casually discuss such matters with Yoshikawa and the others. She switched to her chat with Aozawa and sent a message: "Aozawa, what are you doing?"

The message was quickly marked as read.

Then, a photo promptly arrived.

It looked like a rest area on some coastline. The sky was azure, and the sea was visible in the distance.

Aside from Aozawa, a pair of legs clad in purple-black thigh-high stockings occupied a corner of the photo. Only the legs were visible; the rest of the person was obscured. However, from their contour and curve, Phoenix Academy Maggie could tell that Aozawa was definitely on a date with Morimoto Chiyoda.

Realizing this, the air around Phoenix Academy Maggie suddenly turned frigid.

Miwa Kazuki was acutely aware of the heavy atmosphere, as if a sleeping dragon had awoken, baring its teeth and glaring at everyone with its huge, lantern-like eyes. A chill ran up his spine, and he subconsciously softened his steps.

Jealousy burned furiously in Phoenix Academy Maggieโ€™s heart.

Aozawaโ€™s reply was straightforward: "Iโ€™m out enjoying myself."

Phoenix Academy Maggie typed quickly, "It looks like youโ€™re having a lot of fun."

"Summer is the time to enjoy life. When have you decided to come to the beach for the retreat?"

Hearing this question, the flames of jealousy inside Phoenix Academy Maggie subsided slightly.

Thinking about it now was pointless. Morimoto Chiyoda and Aozawa were already living together, so it was normal for them to be together every day.

She typed in response, "The vacation schedule my mother arranged for me is for August fifth. Weโ€™ll meet at Asakusa Pier and take a cruise to the Phoenix Academyโ€™s private island. It has beautiful beaches, a castle, and forestsโ€”perfect for the manga clubโ€™s retreat. We plan to stay for one night. Remember to bring your things, but itโ€™s also fine if you donโ€™t; I can prepare everything there."

Phoenix Academy Maggie began to arrange the relevant matters, hoping to use this retreat to once again close the distance between them. For example, conquering Aozawa with her swimsuit. Or, replicating a scene from a manga where her swimsuit accidentally gets swept away at the beach, prompting Aozawa to help her retrieve it. Just thinking about such things made her heart pound wildly, and she thought these actions were a bit too bold. But considering this was a rare opportunity during the summer break, she decided to adopt a slightly more daring offensive strategy.

"If you can prepare things, then please do. What time do we meet?"

"We meet at Asakusa Pier at seven in the morning. Donโ€™t be late."

"No problem."

Phoenix Academy Maggie looked at his reply, then noticed a new message from Yoshikawa Sayuri. She replied to Aozawa with an "OK" emoji, ending their conversation, and then opened Yoshikawa Sayuriโ€™s message.

"Maggie, donโ€™t say things like that! Hojo-kun used a door to block the view right away, so he, he didnโ€™t see anything!"

"Alright, letโ€™s not talk about that. Letโ€™s discuss the manga clubโ€™s retreat. Are you free on August fifth?"

Phoenix Academy Maggie began discussing the details of the retreat with her, her steps not faltering.

ใ€ŒAfternoon.ใ€

In Saitama Prefecture, along a road flanked by dense forest, dozens of police cars and black vehicles escorted a military armored vehicle.

Four armed military helicopters patrolled the sky. Each was equipped with two machine guns, anti-tank missiles, and advanced radar systems capable of detecting enemy attacks instantly.

Jack sat inside one of the armed helicopters, observing the scenery. With this kind of formation, they should be more than capable of dealing with those organizations. This was the CIAโ€™sโ€”no, it could be said humanityโ€™sโ€”first capture of a Low-Level Demon. The person who achieved this would very likely go down in history. Naturally, Jack didnโ€™t want his historical record to paint him as a careless fool. He had to be one hundred percent alert to handle any potential crisis; even doubling the escort strength wouldnโ€™t be excessive.

Jack clenched his fists, his mind racing with future possibilities. If we can master the cloning technology for Low-Level Demons, then the United States will possess the worldโ€™s first incorporeal Ghost Legion!

"And by then," Yuzuki Suzuko chimed in beside him, "the director who captured the Ghosts will have a very bright future."

Jack rolled his eyes and said, a little annoyed, "Suzuko, you donโ€™t need to be so blunt. You should say that I am contributing to world peace, for the sake of America. My promotion is simply a response to the expectations of my superiors, allowing me to serve the country better."

Even Jack couldnโ€™t help but laugh at his own grandiloquent words, an undeniable air of smug satisfaction on his face. His shrewdness, however, had not yet reached Johnโ€™s level; he couldnโ€™t make such statements without a hint of internal unease.

"A wise observation, Director," Yuzuki Suzuko said calmly, her tone making it unclear whether she was genuinely praising him or being sarcastic. "If those who deserve power donโ€™t wield it, then those who shouldnโ€™t will seize it."

Jack glanced at her, chose to take it as a compliment, and chuckled. "When I make it big, I wonโ€™t forget your contribution."

Yuzuki Suzukoโ€™s eyes swept outside. Noticing a glint of light in the woods, she said, "It looks like someone is observing the convoy from over there."

Jack quickly glanced in that direction but saw nothing unusual; the verdant mountain forest concealed everything.

He trusted Yuzuki Suzukoโ€™s judgment and ordered, "Fire an anti-tank missile over there. Then send people to investigate if anyone is present."

The helicopter pilot fired an anti-tank missile toward the indicated location.

WHIZZ! An anti-tank missile rapidly detached from the helicopterโ€™s side, streaking visibly towards the spot Jack had indicated.

BOOM! The sound of the explosion reverberated through the forest. At the rear of the convoy, a police car braked sharply, and four police officers jumped out, sprinting towards the forest.

Witnessing this, Jack once again savored the sweet taste of power. With just a word from him, those below him would run themselves ragged. What a rush!

He soon received a report: someone had been found, their leg pierced by a tree branch sent flying by the anti-tank missileโ€™s blast.

"Donโ€™t let that person die. Find out whoโ€™s pulling the strings," Jack ordered, then ended the call. He turned to Yuzuki Suzuko with a smile. "Youโ€™ve got really sharp eyes, Suzuko."

"Iโ€™d be happier with a raise than with such compliments," Yuzuki Suzuko stated.

"Alright, a raise it is!" Jack declared.

Yuzuki Suzuko did appreciate Jackโ€™s generosity.
