Chapter 60 - What do you think you're doing in the middle of the hallway?

"Wait, it's you." Ji-hoo said, gasping in surprise and somewhat excitement as he suddenly held Chin-hwa and lifted him off his feet, spinning him around in excitement. "Chin-hwa, it's so nice to see you again." He laughed. "How have you been?"

Chin-hwa's eyes were spinning. 'Why don't you ask that after putting me down?'

For Chin-hwa who dreaded attention, Ji-hoo's manner of greeting was rather embarrassing and non welcoming. But it was still cute to see him acting all excited after not seeing him for a month or two.

Kang-woo's eyebrows furrowed as he watched this and he let go of Yun-tae's hand.

"Hey, what are you doing in the middle of the hallway?" He asked and Ji-hoo turned to him. He placed Chin-hwa down, turning to face Kang-woo who didn't look too happy about all this.

Chin-hwa couldn't stand on his own two feet since his eyes were spinning. He staggered back a bit and Kang-woo held his shoulders so he wouldn't fall.

"Are you okay?" Kang-woo asked him and Chin-hwa nodded, holding his head.

"Yeah, I... I'm just a bit dizzy." He said.

"Who are you?" Ji-hoo asked and Kang-woo raised his gaze, forcing out a smile.

"I believe I should be the one asking that question." Kang-woo said. "If you're a friend of Hwa, then you should know that he doesn't appreciate flamboyance, so what you did just now, not only caused him to be dizzy but drew unnecessary attention to him."

Ji-hoo glanced around. Everyone was staring.

"Ah, my bad." He said, placing his hand behind his head. "I just got so excited that I forgot we were in a public place. I'm sorry, Chin-hwa."

"I'll forgive you this time." Chin-hwa said, dragging his beanie down once more as he was conscious of all the eyes on him. "But please don't do that next time."

"Affirmative." Ji-hoo smiled, dropping his hand on Chin-hwa's head to pat him.

This action, Kang-woo once again frowned upon.

"What are you doing in our faculty building anyway?" Chin-hwa asked him. "Isn't your building supposed to be...?" He could remember it was very far from theirs since Ji-hoo majored in physical education.

"I'm running errands for my professor." Ji-hoo answered and then looked past Chin-hwa at Kang-woo who was still holding his shoulders. "So, is that a friend of yours?"

"Ah," Chin-hwa realized Kang-woo's hands were still on his shoulders and was about to brush them off when Kang-woo did so himself.

He knew that it would be less heart-aching if he took his hands off by himself rather than having Chin-hwa brush them off so coldly.

"Yes, he's my friend." Chin-hwa said. "A long-time friend."

"My name is Hyuk Ji-hoo." Ji-hoo stretched his hand out for a handshake and Kang-woo did the same, not wanting to seem petty to a complete stranger and let go of every burden in his heart concerning him.

"I'm Lee Kang-woo." He said. "Nice to meet you."

"Yeah, nice to meet you." They shook hands. "Sorry, we had to meet in such an awkward situation."

"Likewise. Please refrain from such acts in the future. You might hurt Hwa." Kang-woo said.

"Ah, you don't need to worry about that. I'm quite strong, haha. I'm a P.E major, after all." He looked proud of his words but there was no saying that an accident wouldn't happen even when he was so strong.

"Still, I insist." Kang-woo said and what looked like an eye battle commenced between the both of them.

Kang-woo did not like Ji-hoo for some reason, and Ji-hoo, who sensed his disapproval, felt threatened, so he had to fight back.

Subconsciously, both started releasing their Alpha pheromones to try and dominate the other but as soon as they began, Chin-hwa hit both their heads with his back, frowning at them.

"What do you two think you're doing in the middle of the hallway?" He asked and they turned to find him frowning heavily.

And then, he covered his nose.

"Aren't you conscious of your own pheromones? How can you let it leak like that? There are omegas around you."

"I'm very sorry." Kang-woo immediately apologized. He hated that look on Chin-hwa's face. "I acted immaturely."

Chin-hwa clicked his tongue and just went ahead without them.

"Hwa, I'm sorry."

"Tell that to Yun-tae, you big moron." Chin-hwa yelled and ran off.

Kang-woo turned to Yun-tae who had a handkerchief around his nose. It was Chin-hwa's handkerchief.

As soon as he sensed the harsh dominating pheromones, he placed the handkerchief over Yun-tae's nose.

In that sense, Yun-tae did not inhale it but even then, his body felt it. So, what to talk of Chin-hwa, who had such a sensitive nose?

"I'm sorry, are you okay?" Kang-woo asked him and Yun-tae nodded.

"Yes, I... I didn't inhale any. But Hwa,"

"Jeez, even I feel the pressure of your pheromones." Dong-cha said and they turned to her. "And I'm an Alpha as well."

Her words weren't sharp or reprimanding but they had an impact.

If an Alpha was able to feel the impact of their clashing pheromones, then what about Chin-hwa who was an Omega that stood the closest to them?

"I'll go find Hwa," Kang-woo said.

"Don't worry, I'll go." Ji-hoo said but Kang-woo glared at him.

"Please, stay out of this." He said and went in the direction Chin-hwa ran towards.

Ji-hoo was taken aback. That was one feisty glare. He was an Alpha as well so why was Kang-woo able to make the air on his body tingle?

"So, do those two have a thing going on?" He mindlessly asked but Seoung-bo shook her head.

"Don't misunderstand anything. He's our little Hwa's childhood friend. They grew up together. As for who he's dating, it's Yun-tae." He said and Ji-hoo looked at Yun-tae.

"Hm, then they have nothing going on then." He looked pleased at that fact. "But are you okay with this?" He asked Yun-tae.

"Okay, with what?"

"From the looks of it, he seems to care about his friend more than his lover. Are you okay with that?"

"Hey," Yun-tae got angry and gazed at him with what looked like a glare. "You know nothing. So just shut up, Ji-hoo."

Ji-hoo was surprised and so were the rest of them. Since when did Yun-tae start to glare at people?

Yun-tae realized this and snapped out of it.

"Sorry, I just don't want you to get the wrong idea. Don't make things up in your head Ji-hoo." He said. "Come on, guys. Let's go to class and keep a space for Hwa. He might take a while."

They nodded and started leaving. Ji-hoo stood there and watched.

The entire thing played out in quite an interesting way.

He didn't know if they were all blind but it was clear that Kang-woo had more interest in Chin-hwa than anyone else.

"Then, is he dating Yun-tae, just to stay beside Chin-hwa and not get noticed?" He wondered but could not actually get an answer. "But it was nice seeing Chin-hwa again. He still looked so pretty even when convering his face." He smiled and rubbed the back of his neck. "I should probably apologize for what I did this time the next time we meet."
