To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 59: I hate being the center of gossip
Chapter 59 - I hate being the center of gossip
Kang-woo had discarded the group of people who wanted to hang around him just because he was a dominant Alpha and apparently from a rich family based on the way he dressed, his accessories, and the car he drove to school.
It wasn't exactly easy to discard them without being rude, so he made an excuse that he wanted to go see the lecturer for the new courses he had requested that morning, and from there, he slid away.
He was thankful to have lost them. People who only flocked around him for interest alone. He hated them.
On his way out of the campus building, he examined the setup on the map given to him. The lecture halls were all lettered A to D, so it wouldn't be too difficult to find his way around.
But he wasn't looking for the lecture halls. The one he was looking for was...
He raised his head, and just a little to the left, his slightly sensitive ears heard Yun-tae's voice, so he turned his head and found the familiar company sitting in the free space.
Of course, they had a little more free time before the next lecture, so they were certain to hang around the building.
His eyes fell on Chin-hwa but he could only see his back. He got excited with a beating heart and started approaching, but his steps soon slowed down as he recalled he was someone else's boyfriend at the moment.
According to his knowledge, it was only right to greet one's lover first before anyone else. So he just needed to ignore Chin-hwa first, right?
But, it was such a difficult thing to do. He had only ever greeted Chin-hwa first before anyone else. How was he going to do that?
He hardened his heart and kept walking towards them.
"Good morning," he said, smiling gently at the group do friends in front of him.
So long he did not falter, he would be able to scale through it.
As they walked through the hallway, all eyes were on them and Chin-hwa's forehead creased.
He hated this attention, but what to do when there was a tall, sparkly, handsome Alpha male walking in their midst?
It was bearable when it was Dong-cha attracting gazes since she mostly waded them off her with her excited attitude and how she did not give a damn about the people staring at her.
But with Kang-woo, who was very kind and extremely 'sparkly', it was impossible to ignore.
And more so when he was holding the hands of an Omega, basically flaunting his relationship for the whole school to see.
He dragged his beanie down to cover most of his face.
Their pictures were going to be all over the school forum soon so he best hide as much as possible.
'I hate being the center of gossip.' he thought and glanced back.
Beom walked normally as he would, Seoung-bo walked with her head held high and Dong-cha kept her hands tucked in her pocket, smirking as she moved.
If anything, they were acting like they were walking on a freaking red carpet. It couldn't be any more accurately described.
Kang-woo and Yun-tae were at the back of the bunch, walking steadily with Yun-tae's face slightly flushed in embarrassment and Kang-woo smiling as he normally would.
It was irksome, honestly. Why did he have to be dragged into any of this?
He was tired and wanted to rest. He shut his eyes as he walked, opening them again while slowly fluttering his eyelashes, but each time he did, he could only meet different procured gazes and the smell of pheromones mixed with sweat even when they were in the middle of winter, got his nose itching.
He hated those foreign pheromones and sweaty smell.
'It seems I'll have to start wearing my nose mask again.' he thought. 'I guess that's also an option for avoiding my face going around in the school's forum. If I wear a nose mask, they'll never be able to take a picture of my face.'
He once again dragged his beanie down. He was very uncomfortable.
While no one might've noticed, Kang-woo had his eyes specifically on Chin-hwa who was at the front. It felt like everything he was doing was so wrong that Hwa didn't even want to look at him so it got his heart conflicted.
Just what could he possibly do? He had no idea and because of that, he felt entirely useless.
What was so good about being an intelligent dominant Alpha if he was so stupid when it came to things like this?
Chin-hwa closed his eyes once more, trying to calm himself, but he still kept walking, which was dangerous because who knew who or what he might hit with his eyes closed.
And just as expected, he did bump into someone. Well, more like, he missed his step and by the time he opened his eyes, he was already falling.
"Hwa," Kang-woo called out, probably wishing he had been closer to catch him, but luckily for him, Chin-hwa did not fall.

His body crashed into the person who had suddenly stopped walking in the middle of the hallway.
"Oh, sorry." They said and then around, holding onto Chin-hwa so he doesn't fall. "Are you okay?"
"Ah, yes." Chin-hwa said, his heart thumping and his face flushing in embarrassment. How could he have made such a blunder in front of Kang-woo? "I'm sorry, I wasn't looking. And..." He paused, his nose suddenly inkling as he sniffed the air.
This scent, this pheromone, he was very familiar with it.
He raised his head to see who he had bumped into and his eyes widened in surprise.
"Ji-hoo?" He called, and the person he had bumped into, a male Alpha with blonde hair and slightly pale skin, looked at his face carefully.
"Wait, it's you." Ji-hoo said, gasping in surprise and somewhat excitement as he suddenly held Chin-hwa and lifted him off his feet, spinning him around in excitement. "Chin-hwa, it's so nice to see you again." He laughed. "How have you been?"
