To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 57: Yeah, nothing happened between us
Chapter 57 - Yeah, nothing happened between us
"Oh my, oh my, oh my. Is that a blush I see?" She asked, drawing closer and pushing Dong-cha's face aside while her eyes beamed with excitement. "I have an eye for these things. So tell me, how close did you two become?"
"Well," Yun-tae blushed even harder, but when he glanced at Chin-Hwa one more time to find him simply scribbling down on his journal, penning down a few key points he remembered from their first class, his blush died down.
He remembered Chin-hwa's shocked expression as he found them kissing, and something told him he didn't want to know why he looked so shocked like the world was on fire.
It was all roses for him now but for Chin-hwa, it was probably still fire on earth, with their friendship being all rocky and stuff.
They noticed Yun-tae staring at Chin-hwa with a certain expression and were curious as to what happened between them.
Dong-cha was sure it was all fine with them when she called but maybe something happened after then.
"Did..." Beom, who usually stayed quiet and listened in, spoke up as he perked up his glasses. "...something happen between you two?"
Chin-hwa paused. It turned out he had been listening all the while, so after Beom asked that he raised his head and looked at them, wondering what they might've noticed to give them that conclusion.
He wasn't really doing anything. Just jotting down key points from the class that had.
"Between the both of us?" Yun-tae asked and then shook his head. "No, of course not. We're fine." He turned to Chin-hwa. "Right, Hwa?"
"Yeah, nothing happened between us." Chin-hwa answered, scratching his face with his index finger as he displayed a little smile. "If anything, I'd say we got closer. Isn't that right?"
"Yeah, of course." Yun-tae's face beamed once more. "We had so much fun going to the movies, and then we even played the claw machine, but of course, we got carried away and were unfortunate not to win anything, but it was still fun."
The group of friends laughed at Yun-tae's excited display. It looked like he really enjoyed their time out and they were envious since they also wanted to get close to Chin-hwa like that.
But since that didn't seem very possible, guess it was okay that the only other Omega got along well with him.
"Ah, speaking of claw machine," Chin-hwa spoke up, remembering he needed to hand Yun-tae his kitty cat.
"Ah, right. I also got a very cute kitty cat but it wasn't from the claw machine. Kang-woo bought it." He said, his face inevitably flushing as he reached for his bag.
Chin-Hwa also reached for his bag and said,
"I think my Hyung left it with me by accident." Chin-hwa said. "And I also think there was an error in the printing because my name is in it." He picked the kitty cat out of his bag and raised his head to find Yun-tae holding that same kitty cat.
"What?" Yun-tae asked, wondering what he was talking about only to find him with the exact same kitty. "Wow, where did you get that? I thought there was only one of it."
Yun-tae smiled.
"Thank goodness. Because it looked like you also liked the kitty cat."
He did not question where he got it from or how he got his hands on it. He was simply glad that Chin-hwa got one too, just like he wanted. But Chin-hwa was confused.
"This kitty..." Chin-hwa glanced down at the kitty cat in his hand. It was soft with his name printed on it, and it was real.
So, how did this happen?
He was sure they only got one from the carton of plushies, so how did he get this one? And with his name on it?
He had to call his Hyung and find out. But would he know? He hadn't been there when they scurried for the kitty cat.
Gently, he squeezed the kitty, his heart racing for some reason and his head fogging up. Who could it be if not 'him'?
"Maybe Kang-woo got it for you." Yun-tae said and Chin-hwa snapped out of it, raising his head to find Yun-tae smiling softly at him. "I mean, he knew you really wanted it. So, he might've gone back to get one for you."
"But... Why would he?" Chin-hwa asked. "What time did he even have to get it for me and then print it? It was already late and... And..." He just wanted to make excuses. Any excuse that would exempt Kang-woo from being the one who got him the kitty cat.
"But the kitty is very cute." Yun-tae said, drawing closer to him. "It's adorable. Just like you." He smiled. "Maybe Kang-woo thought it was a shame that we could only have one and went through all that trouble to get this one."
"Went through all that trouble..." Chin-hwa muttered after him.
Yeah, Kang-woo was sometimes reckless, doing what was not required and wasting time, just to give Chin-hwa the satisfaction he craved.
But was he still as reckless? It had been three years, so why go so far?
And as if the universe wanted to give him an answer to his questions, the only one who was capable of answering them appeared behind him and Yun-tae blushed.
"Well, if we want to know," he said, "...why don't we ask him?"
"Ask..." Chin-hwa's nose gently twitched in the air and he got a whiff of Kang-woo's pheromones.
He froze up for a moment, forgetting how to react after all that had happened. He clutched the kitty cat tightly and closed his eyes, taking soft and light breaths.

"Good morning," Kang-woo's calm and gentle voice slithered through the air, sending shivers down Chin-hwa's spine. "How was your night?"
The question seemed to be directed towards no one in particular but Kang-woo walked towards Yun-tae and kissed the top of his head.
"Did you sleep well?" He asked.
