Chapter 44 - I know what we should get

"You're so precious." Yun-tae said, confusing Chin-hwa. Where did that come from?

"What's going on?" Chin-Hwa asked as Yun-tae broke the hug but Yun-tae simply smiled and added,

"You're amazing, so let's keep fighting together."

Still, Chin-hwa was confused. What had come over Yun-tae all of a sudden?

Kang-woo laughed.

"It seems you're in good spirits." He said. "Shall we go and eat then?"

"Yes, lead the way."

Chin-hwa stood there, still transfixed. What did Yun-tae mean by that? Had he discovered anything? What did he mean by 'Let's keep fighting together'? He was confused.

"Hwa," Kang-woo called. "You're going to be left behind. Come on,"

"Right."

It must've been a spur of the moment and nothing more than that, Chin-hwa thought.

The VIP floor had few tables and each had a very beautiful view of the surroundings.

There were glass walls that allowed the customers to gaze at the beautiful nightlife while they had their meal.

They made their way to one of the tables. The chairs were extremely comfortable. The seats were directly opposite each other and both ends were curved while the other end was glued to the glass wall.

"Wow!" Yun-tae marveled as he stuck his hands to the glass and gazed outside. "It's so beautiful. The view," he turned back to Chin-hwa who smiled.

"Yes, the view is always so pretty, especially at night."

The sun had not completely gone down so the day was still a little bright. They would be there till the end of their meal so they would certainly get to see the night view clearly by then.

"What would you like to order, Yun?" Chin-hwa asked and Yun-tae picked up the menu. His eyes went straight for the price and he almost passed out.

Why was it so expensive? Just one meal, not the entire course, was enough to pay his tuition. Just how were they able to eat comfortably without worrying about the cost?

He slowly lowered the menu from his face, spying on them to see their reaction but they were picking dishes like the price was invisible.

Yeah, this was probably the life of the rich.

But he wasn't like them. He wouldn't feel comfortable picking out a meal that was so expensive.

Chin-hwa paused and glanced at Yun-tae who was grimacing subtly, his eyes evading the meals and instead focusing on the price.

Ah, he should've realized this. He had been a bit negligent.

"I know what we should get." Chin-hwa said, suddenly snatching the menu from him. "It's easy, honestly. I'll get the cheapest course." He winked.

"Cheapest... Course?" Yun-tae asked and he nodded.

"Yeah, it's right around the back so you don't have to worry that you'll be eating anything too expensive. It's the average meal, haha."

He was lying but he didn't want Yun-tae to feel uncomfortable when eating. The meals at Cal'Air were very good and he wanted Yun-tae to have a taste without feeling like he was gulping down his tuition.

Besides, a little lie like this wouldn't kill anyone. And besides, he didn't 'really' lie. The meal he would order was the cheapest course on the menu but not exactly cheap in price.

"So, Yun, did you get to finish your project?" Chin-hwa asked, shifting the topic right away. "I was able to complete mine before my siblings whisked me away but they took you without asking properly. I hope it won't be a problem. I should've asked earlier but I was just occupied with..." He paused, slowly darting his eyes away. "My own problems."

"Oh, I understand." Yun-tae said, flapping his hands. "And you don't need to worry. I was almost done with it. I just needed to add it to a slide and that was it."

"So, you never got to finish in the end." Chin-hwa said, quite sadly. He was feeling guilty. "I'm sorry. It's my fault, right?"

"No, no. Hwa, it's not your fault. And even if it was abrupt, I would love nothing but to go with you." He said, his face suddenly flushing lightly. "I would've also agreed even if I hadn't started my project, and it's not because I was forced or anything. It's what..." He twiddled his fingers, looking away. "I wanted."

Chin-hwa didn't know why, but he did discover that aside from trying to get close to Kang-woo, Yun-tae was showing quite an interest in him.

He was yet to know that Yun-tae had been very excited hearing about him from Kang-woo, but he felt, from the way Yun-tae always included him when it was just supposed to be him and Kang-woo, that Yun-tae wanted to get closer to him as well.

Well, if that was the case then he guessed it wasn't too bad to have a 'close' friend.

But if he got closer to Yun-tae in their friend group, would it be okay? What would the others think?

Wasn't it better to just stay as he was? He just needed to be a little bit inclined.

But he had his doubt that Yun-tae would let him be as he used to in the past. Now that he had gotten to know him deeply, there was no way that that was going to happen.

Then, Yun-tae's phone rang. He picked it up and showed Chin-Hwa,

"It's Dong-cha!" He said, looking quite excited, and answered the call. "Hey,"

"I'm outside your dorm room but it seems you're not in." Dong-cha said. She was in the company of Beom-Chim and Seoung-bo.

It seemed like they went over to his place to get him so they could get drinks together or maybe eat dinner together.

"Your roommate said he hadn't seen you since yesterday. Did something happen? Is someone keeping you against your will?" Dong-cha was always so protective of Yun-tae because she was the only one who knew his family situation among all of them.

She tried her best to cheer him up most times and checked up on him every now and then to make sure he was okay, and nothing had 'suddenly happened' since there had been an 'incident' about a year ago.
