Chapter 160: Stop messing around and just leave

Yun-tae had no idea how he had been pulled into this family drama and it was such an intense part. He simply followed Myung-woo out the backdoor, only for them to make out, not that he was complaining.

But then, it started snowing again so they had to go in. Without letting the family spot them, Myung-woo led Yun-tae up the stairs.

It felt so exciting because they were doing things in secret without anyone else knowing. But as they were walking towards the room, the lights went out.

"What happened?"

"It’s probably nothing. Come, in here." Myung-woo opened the door and they got in. As soon as he closed the door, the lights came on and they were faced with the two who were on the bed, shirtless.

Yun-tae gulped.

He looked at He-Nari who was gazing at Myung-woo with a certain dissatisfaction in his eyes. Thankfully, he wasn’t glaring, but his eyes were sharp, his eyelashes were long and delicate, and that face of his... It was like a tiger.

"So, what do you want?" Deok-ryu asked and He-Nari moved aside.

They both got up, and Yun-tae looked at Nari, who was shirtless and whose pants were unbuttoned.

It was such a sexually appealing look. And look at his chest. He was pristine.

Instinctively, Yun-tae reached his hands toward Myung-woo’s eyes before realizing it.

"Yun?" Myung-woo called, confused and both of them turned to him, wondering what he was doing.

"Ah, sorry about that." Yun-tae said but still didn’t let go. "I don’t know why but I can’t let you keep looking. It’s... Inappropriate."

They went quiet for a while before Myung-woo stifled a laugh, followed by He-Nari who clutched Deok-Ryu’s arm, pressing his chest to him, and said,

"It’s indeed inappropriate. So, why don’t you take him out and we can continue our business?"

"I didn’t know you could get jealous, Yun." Myung-woo said, his lips curling up in a smirk. "It’s cute."

Yun-tae blushed and threw his face away.

"I... I’m not jealous. I just said it felt inappropriate. Don’t look at another Omegas body,"

"Of course, of course. Why would I when I could look at yours?" He said but it only made Yun-tae more flustered.

"Who... Who said you could look at mine? You... You can’t."

"Really?" Myung-woo pushed his hand down gently, his eyes hinting at a bunch of things. "Are you sure?"

Yun-tae’s head felt hot. Just what was going on? It looked like he had dropped himself in a trap. It was scary.

"Okay, you two can take your business somewhere else," Nari said, shooing them away. "This room has already been taken."

Myung-woo looked back at them.

"I’ll just say congratulations in advance," he smirked. "I’ll be a best man faster than I thought."

"Stop messing around and just leave." Deok-ryu said, not bothering to clear up what could be a misunderstanding. But since he didn’t say anything, it looked like He-Nari had finally succeeded in sewing the truth into his head.

He had been the only one blind and deaf to He-Nari’s confession for the longest time, so of course, he was an idiot who needed the truth sewn to him for him to understand.

"Then, we’ll go use the guest room." Myung-woo said.

"Let’s just go down and have dinner. I think I heard them yelling ’surprise’." Yun-tae said.

"Really? Then let’s--"

*Bang, bang, bang,* someone banged the door hard.

"Where are you? Don’t you know you need to head downstairs and have dinner?" It was Woo-bin’s voice. "Seriously, are you trying to be rebellious when you’re already adults? Who the hell skips dinner these days?"

Yun-Tae became the sacrificial goat and opened the door after the other two had picked up their shirts.

"Um, Ahjussi," he said in a silent voice. "...sorry, we weren’t looking at the time."

"What’s going on?" Woo-bin asked as he looked into the room. "Were you holding some kind of meeting?"

"Well, something like that."

Woo-bin took a good look at the situation and sighed. Kids these days. What did they think they were doing when their parents were in the house?

"No more excuses. I can’t believe you three are pulling the innocent kid to skip dinner with you." He blamed the other three and clicked his tongue. "Kid, don’t let them influence you badly, okay? You’re still growing so you can’t afford to skip meals."

"Y-yes, Ahjussi." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

He was so soft to Yun-tae. They were lucky they let him open the door; if not, the result might’ve been entirely different.

They all went down the stairs and Chin-hwa watched them approach, wondering what they had been up to.

"What happened?"

"They were having some sort of meeting." Woo-bin answered as he sat down. "But don’t worry, I already scolded them."

"It’s not good to skip dinner." Hae-won said. "If you want to have a meeting, you could’ve done it after dinner or before."

"Right, sorry mama." Deok-ryu responded. Though it was not true they were having a meeting or anything but there was no other way to cover up what they were doing.

"Here, Yun-tae. Have this," Hae-won began to fill his plates with different meat.

"Ah, thank you Hwa’s mom." Yun-tae said, smiling nervously. ’I feel so bad for tricking Hwa’s mom, but I don’t have an excuse that won’t leave me embarrassed.’

"Something in your mind?" Hae-won asked but Yun-tae shook his head. His gaze fell on Myung-woo and something came to mind.

Since Hae-won was the one who wrote such a book, he would be able to know more about love, right?

"Um, I have a few questions I’d like to ask if it’s okay with you. Can I ask after dinner?" He asked and most of their attention fell on their little conversation.

"Why, of course."

Chin-hwa wondered what Yun-tae had to talk about but did not stay curious for long as his mind wandered elsewhere.

After dinner, they had the cake for dessert and after that, Yun-tae finally got the opportunity to talk to Hae-won.

"So, dear, what did you want to talk about?"

"Well," Yun-tae looked away shyly. How to bring it up? "I was curious about something. How does one know if they’re truly in love?"

Hae-won went silent. He did not expect that question but he guessed with how things were going around there, someone was bound to get confused.

"Well, what do you think love is?"

"I’ve asked different people and honestly, I don’t know anymore. I understand that love can make you do things that are not in your favor; it can also make you act extremely selfish. To give up and to possess something like that. But I’m more confused about the definition on its own."

"The definition, hm? That’s abstract. Love can mean many things, honestly. Love is not defined by one meaning or one setting. It escaped all rational definition because it is uncertain." Hae-won explained but this only made Yun-tae more confused. "Is there a reason you asked this? Are you concerned about your relationship?"

"Ah, it’s just... I want to be sure." Yun-tae said, his voice soft and low as he played with his fingers.

"Sure of what?" Hae-won asked and Yun-tae raised his head, biting his lips as he said,

"That I’m not making a mistake."

Hae-won saw the look in his eyes and was convinced that Yun-tae was scared. He was scared of making a mistake he would come to regret. His growing circumstances must’ve been hard for him to fear giving his heart to someone so much.

"Does the other person love you?" Hae-won asked, placing his hand on his and Yun-tae nodded.

"He says he does, very well. And I believe him because there’s no way he would do all that for me if he doesn’t love me." He said and suddenly began to cry. "I feel so insecure. I shouldn’t have to worry about things like this, but I wish it was real. I wish it doesn’t end so I’m very anxious to know if I have the feelings to stay in a relationship with him."

"Hm, you’re scared." Hae-won said and reached his hand to his face and wiped away his tears with his thumb. "It’s normal to be scared, I assure you. I felt such fear too, trust me." He laughed softly and shortly. "But I don’t think my method will work for you. Instead, why don’t you ask yourself these four questions? I saw it in a movie and I think it’s credible."

"What questions?" Yun-tae said, sniffing in.

"First, Does he let you be the best version of yourself?" Hae-won asked. "Second, is he kind? Third, can you tell him everything in your heart? And lastly," he gazed deeply at Yun-tae. "Can you imagine him as the father of your kids?"

The last question was especially hard, and Yun-tae blushed, causing Hae-won to laugh.

"If you have a yes to all four questions then I’d say yes, you’re in love with him, deep enough to start a family with him. So, do not hesitate any longer and go to him, let him wrap you in his arms and keep you safe from the rest of the world. Let his love chase out the fear in your heart, Yun-tae. Do not live with fear for the rest of your life."
