Chapter 464: Felt by Darkness.

"Is this what you truly want, Sol Vestic, is this the legacy you wish your daughter to inherit, is this-"

"I don’t recall myself at any point saying that I’m some kind of advocate for peace," Sol answered the man laying at his feet patiently waiting for him to bleed out while observing his followers laying waste to the small army that had initially opposed them.

"I only acted in the interests of my Emperor-"

"You could be acting in the interest of the light itself, I said my piece and gave everyone the chance to pick a side, Zan’el’s, or mine and you along with your people chose, you did what you thought was right, given the situation, don’t make excuses for your actions, I’m doing what I think is right as well."

"You will not try to ...justify yourself?" The man asked trying and failing to raise his hand several times.

"There is nothing to justify anymore, I’ve been so adamant on Giza and Umbra’s case that I almost forgot why we want to erase the Emporium, but seeing a regular General again reminded me," Sol slowly turned his gaze from the conflict to the man at his feet.

"As soon as my Collective was exposed to the Grand Collective and Ikaris’s existence became known, you sent multiple Generals after her, we were living a normal life until that point, she was happy, she has no memory of any of the Grand- we were fine in our little corner..."

"That monster deserves no peace, aiding her is a mistake after everything she did in the Great War, if only you knew-"

His words turned to gurgles and his eyes slowly rolled into the back of his head while his body shook several times after Sol grunted and planted his sword in his heart with a scornful frown.

"I have no interest in the Ikaris of the past, she is no longer that person, today, she is my wife and the mother of my child and that is all that matters to me, she has already been through enough." Sol’s rings flashed several times behind him leaving his face cast in a silhouette with his eyes glowing gold in the shade. "What value do you place on family to not understand these simple words?"

"Master..." Dina stood opposite of Sol, staring at the corpse at his feet as he regarded it with disdain and malice. "We found more Vatui-"

"Have Ikaris deal with anything Vatui from this point on, whatever she decides, consider her words mine and follow them without rebuttal or protest." Sol answered, closing his eyes and releasing a breath of raw mana into the air. "I’m going back," He fell into a meditative stance on the spot and slipped into his dreamsape.

"I will watch over him, Young Mistress," Xie gave Dina a small bow, resting his hand on the general’s foregead and injecting his body with mana, causing him to be corroded by and dissolved into pure matter, floating away in the wind. "Rest assured, his state of mind is indeed the same as we first met, Sovereign has not changed."

"Thank you, Xie," Dina nodded at him with a smile and then vanished in a flash of pink mana.

"That said," The man took a seat next to Sol and closed his eyes as well. "He is fundamentally an entirely new being after his fight with the Third General, so much that only his mind remains the same, I suspect you all know this, which is why even Lady Amastacia has shown increased worry-"

"I’m fine, Xie, be silent." Sol spoke, startling the man since he could sense no conscious thought coming from the person next to him. "You have a fight against the third most powerful person in the Entire Grand Emporium soon, right?"

"Of course, I apologise," Xie slowly closed his eyes again. "I will focus on that instead of worrying you, Sovereign."

"Good."

"Once again, I find myself before this door of sorts, and once again..." Sol slowly turned, staring at Giza who had appeared as soon as he did. "I find you here."

He stood before a great pillar of golden light reaching infinitely above and infinitely below and along this golden pillar was a crimson chain wrapping and binding it while the light itself seemed to be trying to escape.

"There are some things that certain people should never know or have access to, this is one of those things, Sol vestic, this is not something that someone of your mental fortitude can manage, it will kill you on a whim if your goals do not align."

"So it has consciousness," Sol skeptically raised his brow at her. "Why are you telling me this? If your goals are under the threat of me stopping them, then why warn me of my own demise?" He asked.

"Because if you undergo this which you see as a positive change, it too will lead to the end of everything, except rather than eternal nothingness, it will be eternal constance, that is what I sense from that pillar of light, you would scar and curse all of existence with life eternal, and you will never be happy again."

"Are you trying to scare me into not pursuing a power that came seeking me?"

"I am telling you the truth, Sol, there is a reason it was and has never been released, fate itself decided against it, those are the chains of fate!" She snapped at him, taking him aback when he saw the pleading in her eyes. "Some powers are never meant to roam free..."

"-Like you." He had been several feet away from her a moment ago, but before she could react he seized the moment and grabbed her arm causing her to flinch when a surge of his mana latched onto and began seeping into her skin.

"You were never meant to leave your dimension, you feel now and that is because you grew curious, you hurt, maybe even love, but you should have never felt a single one of these to begin with, right?!" He grabbed her other hand when she was trying to flee while the rings on his back manifested violently with chains of light attempting to snatch her.

"I will not succumb to this!!" Giza flailed and began struggling. "Mark my words, Sol Vestic, if this is truly your course of action then as you have sought me, I will seek you out to the ends of reality to ensure this coalition never is!!"

"At the cost of my being!" She stared into his eyes while he struggled to keep her arms steady watching the chains snap shut around her wrist. "I will not allow that abomination to be!!"

While she spoke, teeth appeared across her forearm, forming rows around her elbows and then snapping shut, severing her arms.

While Sol was still in the process of reaching for her again, Giza’s hands regrew and she tore her legs that had also been trapped free and retreated a safe distance from him. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

"Mark my words!!" She ground her teeth, looking at the black tint of her hair corrupt itself with shades of blue from the amount of mana he had managed to pour into her vessel.

"These same feelings and emotions that you have granted me will be your undoing, Sol Vestic, I am now capable of hate-"

"Yes, which means you can also feel pain and fear." Sol stared at the hands she had left behind as they were fully purified and then turned into mana. "If you ever come into my domain like this again, I’ll make sure you never have the opportunity to escape, now get out."

"I cannot be threatened by- whah!" She flinched and ducked when Sol’s hand came zooming over her head after he attempted to grab her a second time. "Listen to-"

Once more she narrowly escaped Sol’s glowing hands watching him slide across the endless plane with his hands folded in an attempted hug. "Y-you..." She felt shivers through her body and held her arms. "This is not-"

"Get out!!" Sol snapped at last, and with his exclamation the great tree manifested with a blinding explosion that sent the Dark Emissary cascading on her heels with her eyes shielded by her arms.

The next moment she opened her eyes Sol’s hand was just about to clasp down on her face, it felt frozen in time, she could see the intent in his eyes and behind his palm, but a glance later she was gone in a thump leaving him there hissing.

Reappearing next to Umbra and crashing through several reinforced walls unable to immediately stop herself because of the speed she had to move at to evade Sol’s advance.

"What the fuck!?" Umbra yelped stood from his meditation, staring through the walls at Giza who was now had healthily toned skin, flushed cheeks and multiple streaks of Violet and Sky Blue running from the roots of her hair, most shocking to him was the thumping he could feel from her chest, echoing through the void and shaking the dark mana inside of him.

Her eyes held beatutiful hues of purple, tears stung at the sides and she looked terrified beyond anything he had seen within any living being, he cautiously walked across the many rooms and stopped over her, watching her pant and shake with trickles of sweat rolling down her neck and forehead.

"I swear it, I swear on my existence... I promise you will regret this, I promise you Sol Vestic; this is the last time I play your victim, how dare you, to me... how dare you!?" Her teeth ground sparks and her eyes flashed spectrums of shaded colours while dark veins pulsed and throbbed throughout her face and body. "I will never forget this, I will never forgive this!"

Even in her state of shock, laying on the ground with her arms folded over themselves and hugging her frame, Giza’s eyes held rage alongside that unbelievable amount of fear he could feel resonating from her being.

"What the hell happened to you?"
