My Life In A Fantasy, Women-Dominated World-Chapter 155: Caw Caw
The mushroom lands as Aaron liked to call it, was a long stretch of land, filled only with the tall canopy trees and countless patches of mushrooms.
He walked for hours, fiddling with the nanotech orb along the way.
It was quite a magical piece of technology, capable of taking the texture of any material he could think of.
Hell, if he wanted his whole body from top to bottom to be covered by mud, that could easily be done using the item!
And not just that, he could make it so that layer of mud would not touch his skin at all, hovering a safe distance away from himself.
It had the capabilities of being a perfect assassination / stealth tool, if he was imaginative enough.
But the biggest discovery he made was... that he could actually become a spiderman using this technology.
Not the enhanced reflexes or the superhuman strength that the hero possessed, but the web slinging and swinging action... that was possible.
All he had to do was imagine two webshooters on his wrists, and then imagine his nanobots shooting out in a thin form of spiderweb from those webshooters.
It took a good few minutes to get the theory to work, but he had finally got it down.
Aaron hummed with a wide grin, extending his right arm forward and making a web shooting sign towards a hanging branch of the tall tree above him.
At his signal, a string of web-like material shot out of his wrist, shooting upwards and sticking to the branch with perfection.
Once connected, Aaron grabbed the string and gave it a firm tug, causing the branch to shake slightly with rustling sounds.
*CAWK CAWK*
However, along the rustles and movement, he saw a black blur in the sky.
"Oh fuck!" He instantly exclaimed, mentally ordering the nano orb to retract the web back into his shooter before leaning forward and breaking into a full-fledged sprint. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
He kept an eye behind himself, wanting to at least see his ’enemy’ before he committed to an escape.
And there it was, wings unfurled with a wingspan wider than any eagle he had seen on Earth, the beak slightly hooked lower, meant to tear flesh apart.
It had a pair of talons that looked sharp and capable of cutting through the metal itself as the bird shrieked loudly.
Luckily however, unlike the swarm of bees, no other bird came out of their hiding spot to hunt this foolish human down.
’Can I kill it?’ Aaron thought to himself, his vision blurring slightly as he kept running through the mushroom fields.
The farther he went, the more the number of mushrooms grew.
Earlier they used to be sparse, only located every couple meters apart.
But now, they were filling the whole floor, making Aaron step on a few every time he slammed his foot down.
Similar to other mushrooms, each of them broke apart into mist.
Aaron left a mist of mushrooms in his wake, not daring to slow down and becoming a bird chow as his head began to spin with each step.
"CAWWW!"
He turned around, nearly tripping from the weird view.
In a distance he could make out a black furry winged creature, flapping its wings hard and dissipating the mist around itself.
On the floor were colourful mushrooms, each of them different and unique, making Aaron blink extensively, trying to focus onto a single mushroom but being unable to.
"Caw! Caw caw." The distant bird looked at the smoke and mist in disdain, before turning around and flying back to its hiding spot.
"What... is... happening...?"
Aaron couldn’t care less about the retreating bird anymore, as it only raised deathflags in his mind.
Why was it returning back and running away from the mist? Is it harmful...?
Then why the fuck was he inhaling it continously for so long...
And as if following the cartoonish logic that the gravity won’t affect until you look down, all the stored up effects of the mist came swinging at Aaron alongside his realization.
His knees became weaker, incapable of standing straight anymore as Aaron fell down to his knees, crushing even more mushrooms under himself.
"Sto..."
His mind felt like slipping away, unable to form any thought.
But he had at least a slight amount of judgement left in himself as he formed an uneven and thin stick out of nanobots, holding it tight and using it to stab the ground.
He used it as the support, refusing to fall down here.
He had experienced drugs before. The hard ones that were illegal, the overdose of alcohols, weed, and what not.
His past was something he didn’t want to discuss.
But... even with the knowledge of such heavy things, Aaron couldn’t help but succumb into the weakness of these mushrooms.
They attacked each sense in his body separately.
Worse yet, he couldn’t find a single living organism to target with his reverse senses.
*Crack*
Due to his own fear of the stick breaking, he subconsciously commanded the nanobot stick to break, causing it to snap into two pieces and meld back into his clothes.
With the support gone, the gravity did its magic.
Aaron lost all control in his body, falling down face first onto the ground filled with delicious looking colourful mushrooms.
More mist exploded, rushing down his nose and mouth, making his eyes roll to the back of his head and his body to go limp...

Some time later.
Aaron’s head felt like it had been smashed into a paste by a sledgehammer and then tossed into a mixer to make a smoothie out of it.
It hurt like hell like never before. Not even the worst kind of hangover could hold a candle to his current circumstances.
And worse yet, he could hear countless small murmuring sounds, merging into one other like a broken radio.
They were incognisable and a complete noise, hurting his already hurt mind.
"Shut up, please..." he whispered, feeling too high to have a single thought.
To check his surroundings, he slowly opened his eyes, but froze at the first sight.
Around him were mushrooms... a lot of them.
But that wasn’t a problem, the problem was... they were... alive?
