The witch thought I am a Demon God-Chapter 560 - 326 Universal Law: Holy Church (Two in One)_2
Having noticed that her soul was more stable, making it hard for run-of-the-mill witches to attack her using mental magic, and for average knights to destabilise her heart using Evil Qi, Ivita began to think. If she were to store more treasures within her Soul Palace, wouldn’t this likely strengthen her soul to an unprecedented degree?
Soul Stones, Soul Flames, a strand of the Death’s God breath, and Soul-suppressing Coffins were all such treasures.
But if she could collect these treasures, then it was likely that the Witch Queen and Witch Kings, with hundreds, thousands, or perhaps even tens of thousands of years of time, had accumulated countless more treasures within their souls.
No wonder everyone was so terrified of the Witch Queen and Witch Kings.
Only now did Ivita realize how dangerous her initial battle with the Witch Queen’s shadow had been. She was fortunate not to have used mental magic against her, otherwise she would have certainly been forcefully repelled.
The scenario was similar to when Governor Rolof and the Three Mountain Captain attacked with Evil Qi, only to be counterattacked by the foundation of her Soul Palace.
This was just the foundation, and not an entire Soul Palace.
’But even after filling it with so many treasures, my soul foundation is not entirely complete; there is a defect.’
’It appears that to complete the foundation, the amount or number of treasures, and the strength of my soul, are irrelevant. Unless the foundation is complete, I always feel a sense of emptiness, but to complete it, I feel something is not fulfilled. Could it be related to my understanding of Law?’
’To complete the foundation, must I first grasp the essence of everything? Otherwise, why do I always feel like something is missing?’
Ivita thought, ’But building the Soul Palace can only commence upon completion of the soul foundation.’
’Perhaps it’s a good thing that the foundation isn’t finished yet.’
’Once the foundation is complete, it won’t be so easy to add treasures to it anymore. It will require special rituals and magic. At that point, changing and strengthening the foundation of my Soul Palace will be exceedingly difficult.’
’So, while I have the chance, gathering as many treasures as I can and putting them into the foundation of my Soul Palace may not be a bad idea.’
In the small alley, Ivita was about to place the final grindstone into her Soul World when suddenly, a small door in the wall of the alley, only half the height of an adult, swung open.
An ordinary-looking woman, dressed in cloth, ran out. "What on earth has happened? Oh, God, God of All Things, what has happened to my daughter?"
A broken piece of the holy digit ’4’, shaped like a cross, flew out from the room and, like a dagger, wedged itself into the wall between where Ivita and the Hearthstone Witch stood. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
The cross, obviously made of wood but infused with a powerful force, had remarkably lodged itself into the stone wall.
A roar echoed from it.
"God, halt!"
"No God of All Things remains here!"
"Here, the God of All Things has died, hahaha..."
Ivita and the Hearthstone Witch exchanged glances. The Hearthstone Witch said to Ivita, "They’re here. It seems they had calculated that we would leave the bustling market street and come here."
"So they waited here."
"Quite spine-chilling."
"Their target is us, not that woman and her daughter. She’s just an innocent victim. But you’re right, such is the fate of the weak near the strong. Even a slight disturbance can bring about a catastrophe."
"Weakness is the greatest sin."
From inside, the demon-possessed ten-year-old girl echoed the Hearthstone Witch’s blasphemy with a series of ’hehehe’s.
Suddenly, the door in the alley closed, only to crack open again and, as if buffeted by the wind, continued to open and close, making a ’bang bang’ noise.
It had opened three times, making three noises.
This was typical provocation towards the Holy Father, the Holy Son and Holy Spirit, all demons in the vicinity may make such a noise.
Kamizuki and the fearful townswoman both jumped, startled by the eerie scene. They were trembling all over.
The townswoman wailed, "Oh, heavens, what on earth is happening? Why did all this happen after we went to the Church this morning? "
"Has the God of All Things forsaken us? But what have we done wrong?"
"We’ve been so devout, never once foregoing our daily prayers. Why are we being treated this way? God of All Things! Oh, my God!"
Ivita said softly to Kamizuki: "If you’re scared, stay outside the house. There’s no shame in it. Everyone’s naïve at some stage. Don’t be reckless — in my experience battling demons, any negative emotions may spell disaster."
Kamizuki bit her lip as she looked at her teacher.
Without wasting words on the demon, Ivita used the Hand of Mana to open the wooden door, ripping it right off. "Stop with the tricks, are you leaving that little girl’s body or not?"
"I’m giving you one choice: leave now."
The candles in the room suddenly lit up, enabling Ivita to see the room clearly. There were four people, one of whom was a old priest, severely hurt, with a shattered holy ’4’ cross lodged in his chest. He was lying in a pool of blood, barely breathing, his face wrought with terror as if he’d discovered something shocking.
