Chapter 180: Chapter 176: Quietly Following

Luna Sutton just returned to her residence, only to see a group of females gathered at the cave entrance, chattering and scrambling over something.

She frowned and quickly walked over.

Caleb Manning, in his cub form, was being passed around by the tribe’s females.

As a result, she immediately saw the cub Caleb being hugged and passed around like a toy.

The little guy looked helpless, baring his teeth, clearly frustrated.

But he lacked any intimidation and instead amused the females, making them laugh heartily.

Just as she was about to go over and rescue the little guy, she noticed what the females were saying.

"Oh my, who’s this male? How come I’ve never seen him before?"

"He’s quite handsome, that physique, that aura—although not as good as Corbin Crowley or Rhys Blackwood, still better than most males in the tribe."

"Luna Sutton is so lucky, did she get a new Beast Husband again?"

...

She was utterly confused, what Beast Husband? When did she get a new Beast Husband?

She pushed aside the gawking females and saw a male surrounded by them, looking awkward and helpless.

The man was tall, with a healthy wheat-colored skin tone, and his amber eyes were particularly striking, exuding a lazy and carefree air.

His hair was dark brown, tied casually at the back of his head, with a few strands falling over his forehead, accentuating his handsome and well-defined features.

Luna Sutton frowned, looking at the man surrounded by the tribe’s females, wondering to herself: Who is this guy? Why is he at her cave entrance?

She didn’t connect him to Jago at all.

Mostly because she hadn’t seen Jago in his human form yet.

She snatched the cub Caleb from the females and held him in her arms.

With a vigilant look, she glanced at the man and asked, "Who are you? How did you end up here?"

The man was slightly taken aback but then showed a lazy smile, his amber eyes playful, "Master, don’t you recognize me?"

"Master?"

Luna Sutton paused, sizing him up several times, suddenly realizing, "Jago? You turned into a human?"

"I’m a Beastman, of course I can turn into a human."

Jago nodded playfully, and then said proudly, "Master, am I handsome or not?"

She twitched the corner of her mouth, thinking he was quite narcissistic, replied casually, "Uh, so-so."

Their entire conversation fell on the ears of the surrounding females.

Seeing this handsome and capable male addressing Luna Sutton as his master, they were instantly petrified, looking as if they’d been struck by lightning.

Luna Sutton watched the shocked expressions of the surrounding females, feeling inwardly pleased. She deliberately raised her hand to ruffle Jago’s head, "Good boy, turn back into your beast form and make a footrest for me."

Jago twitched his mouth, but nevertheless, reverted back into his Spotted Leopard form in front of everyone and obediently lay at her feet.

"This can’t be!"

A female screamed, "How could a Fifth-rank Beastman recognize a master?!"

She bent down and tugged Jago’s ear, smiling sweetly, "Because he lost a bet to me, isn’t that right, little leopard?"

Jago’s tail wagged awkwardly.

Even he didn’t quite understand why he acknowledged Luna Sutton as his master, just seeing something flying toward his head, and then inexplicably wanted to recognize her as his master.

Luna Sutton let go of Jago’s ear, ignoring the screaming female, and went back into the cave with the little guy in her arms.

"Jago, go hunt some fresh prey."

She instructed without turning back.

After leaving the tribe for so long, even the best prey would have spoiled.

"Yes, Master!"

Jago instantly transformed, reverting to his Spotted Leopard form, quickly galloping three miles away.

Seeing this, those females began to chatter again, their eyes full of envy and jealousy.

Yet, none of them could help but silently lament: Luna Sutton really is lucky.

She had a loving leader father, as well as five handsome and powerful Beast Husbands, and even her newly-acquired mount was so formidable.

It’s truly beast versus beast, enough to frustrate a beast to death.

Although these females were full of envy and jealousy, they soon dispersed each to their own.

Inside the cave.

Luna Sutton had just sat down when a system alert sounded in her mind:

"Ding! Detected target ’Nolan Sterling’ has already left The Royal City with elite forces, including one Seventh Rank Old Beastman Iron-armored Rhino, 30 Sixth-rank Beastmen, 50 Fifth-rank Beastmen, and among them are also skilled Eagle Beastmen and Winged Tiger Beastmen."

Her face changed instantly, this lineup, it seems like they’re planning to blast The Salt Lake into salted fish.

Although Corbin Crowley and the others aren’t lacking in ability, the opposing number and strength was like coming to tackle a boss.

It’s uncertain how well the traps by The Salt Lake have been set up and whether they’ll handle this crisis.

Father already knows about this; he’s probably discussing it with the priest and the tribe elders right now.

It’s likely they will set out for The Salt Lake tonight, and it will certainly be a tough battle.

She felt very uneasy, torn about whether to secretly follow Father to The Salt Lake.

Although she just returned from The Salt Lake, it doesn’t stop her from going again. She wouldn’t be at ease without seeing it for herself.

Anyway, with Jago carrying her, she can quietly follow without showing up.

The little creature in her arms seemed to sense her unease and jumped down sensibly to play on its own.

Luna Sutton didn’t mind, thinking about quietly following Lyle Sutton and them to The Salt Lake tonight, and quickly fished out the "Wood Element Magic Manual" from her system backpack.

Despite being pregnant, it doesn’t stop her from cultivating.

As she flipped through it, she muttered to herself, "At Qi Cultivation Fourth Level, there aren’t many spells I can use, but at least I have some trump cards. Maybe they can help then."

As she was conflicted about which spell to cultivate first, the system’s cheerful voice sounded in her mind.

"Ding! Time-limited task triggered: The host is requested to master the ’Vine Cage’ within twelve hours. The reward is a Concealing Cloak, which perfectly hides your aura from Beastmen below Ninth Rank!"

"You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?"

She gritted her teeth and flipped to the corresponding page, where it described how to cultivate the "Vine Cage": "I was just about to sneak to The Salt Lake, and you issued a task!"

The system cheekily replied, "Host, don’t you want to personally see Nolan Sterling being beaten to a pulp? This system has even planned your escape route. Take the shortcut through the Miasma Forest, and ride Jago for three hours to get there."

She stared at the thorny pattern on the page, realizing it’s very similar to her wood element ability, just an advanced version.

Suddenly, she was struck by inspiration.

The wood element ability flowed with her thoughts, and the vines at the cave entrance suddenly grew wildly, wrapping Caleb Manning, who had just sneaked to the cave entrance, tightly, suspending him in mid-air.

The little fellow looked bewildered, struggling a bit, but the vines just tightened.

They even began to climb up, seemingly about to wrap him into a green cocoon.

"Awoo..."

In his cub form, Caleb Manning couldn’t move at all, only letting out a pitiful whimper.

"Oops, my bad!"

She hastily released the spells, turning to see Jago at the cave entrance, petrified with the prey in its mouth, the deer leg dropping with a "plop," looking admiringly.

The master’s wood element ability is getting more formidable.

That night, Luna Sutton, wrapped in the freshly acquired Concealing Cloak, silently followed behind Lyle Sutton’s team, riding on Jago.

As for Caleb Manning in his cub form, he was left in the care of Saffron Vance from the tribe, since it wasn’t convenient to bring him along.

Most of the tribe’s beastmen were at The Salt Lake.

Lyle Sutton brought along his trusted aides and the tribe elders this time.

The priest, who rarely leaves the tribe, was riding on a white wolf this time, accompanying the team.

The enemy facing The Wolf Tribe this time came from the Beast King City; even if Lyle Sutton didn’t invite him, the priest would have insisted on going.

After all, it concerns the survival of The Wolf Tribe, so it can’t be ignored.

"Ding, a friendly reminder: Umbraflow has been poisoned by Rhys Blackwood, hurry and warn your father not to touch it!"

The system’s sudden alert startled her, almost making her fall off Jago, internally cursing, "You darn system, why tell me now and not earlier? How am I supposed to relay the message with the Concealing Cloak? Should I just pop out and do a magic act?"

Jago confusedly flicked its tail, watching as its master clutched its mane in annoyance.

The system cheekily responded, "Why not sneak closer and toss over a note? If there’s no paper, just use beast hide."

"That’s some lousy advice you have."

Though she was grumbling, she acted quickly, rummaging through the system backpack for a piece of beast hide, hurriedly scribbling with a charcoal pen: "Water from Umbraflow is poisoned, don’t touch!"

Then she wrapped herself in the Concealing Cloak and silently approached Lyle Sutton’s team.

Lyle Sutton, in his true form, was running at the front of the team.

Suddenly, he felt something pass by him.

He quickly stopped, looking down to find a piece of beast hide at his feet.

When he picked it up with his paw and read it, his expression changed drastically: "Umbraflow is poisoned, don’t touch?"

The priest noticed the commotion and rode over on the white wolf, glancing at the note, his expression turning grave: "Leader, where did this message come from?"

Lyle Sutton shook his head in confusion, scanning the surroundings but seeing no one, puzzled.

Knowing the urgency of the situation, he immediately ordered, "All beastmen, take note, Umbraflow is poisoned. No one is to touch the water!"

The beastmen in the team, surprised by the statement, quickly adjusted the route without questioning Lyle’s order.

In hiding, Luna Sutton, wrapped in the Concealing Cloak, quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
