Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 817 - 815: Sleeping Together (1)
"Why do you keep following me?"
Ivan Horne turned his head to glance at Florence Ford, who was following him, and asked coldly.
He was quite impatient, but his upbringing prevented him from showing it. Compared to Glades Horne, his temper was more explosive, but his mind was deeper than Glades’. Generally, no one could discern his thoughts from his face. The old lady said it right back then, this boy would grow into someone enigmatic with age.
"Brother Ivan, you must know information about the Young Master, could you tell me? I just want to know where he is now and if he’s doing well." Florence, though a bit proud, had a strong sixth sense and felt that Ivan Horne knew about the Young Master’s whereabouts.
After filling her belly with breakfast at the Horne Family, Glades Horne and his wife both left the house, one returning to Valence Group, the other off to manage business. Even though they were an old couple, they still left the house together every day.
With the adults gone, even Mila Anderson had gone out, leaving only Ivan Horne at home.
Florence Ford was relentless, pestering him to ask about Jimmy Horne’s whereabouts.
"I don’t want to repeat myself." Ivan Horne replied coldly, turning his head and stepping up the stairs.
Florence followed him upstairs.
"Brother Ivan, please." The young beauty pleaded softly.
In three years, she would be an adult, and then she could officially join the Blaze Sect. She wanted to become someone close to the Young Master so she could always be by his side.
She was learning martial arts to serve the Blaze Sect. In the sect, to become a person of significance, you must excel in martial arts, have precise shooting skills, and be quick to react, among other things. She met these qualifications. In her generation, those with ambition aimed to work for the Young Master.
"Call me Ivan."
Ivan Horne emphasized coldly.
He didn’t even flinch at the beauty’s pleading, not giving her a single ounce of sympathy. If it were any other man, they would have softened by now, given the plea from such a beautiful young woman.
"Brother Ivan, when Camila calls me that, it warms and softens my heart. Coming from your mouth, it turns me into a frog covered in warts." Ivan Horne’s feet never stopped, yet his biting words targeted the young beauty.
She could hardly keep a straight face but endured it anyway.
The young man before her had the right to act proud in her presence.
Ultimately, she couldn’t afford to provoke him.
"Ivan."
"Speak, I’m not deaf."
Ivan Horne continued straight to the top floor, walked to the swimming pool, and began undressing.
The sky was a bit overcast now, with the sun hiding away, and it provided just the right opening for him to swim.
He turned to see the young beauty blushing a bit, standing not far away, and asked a little teasingly, "Want to join me?"
The young beauty’s face turned even redder in an instant, she quickly shook her head.
"Then why are you standing here? Are you checking out a handsome guy bathing?"
"I..."
The young beauty blushed, not knowing what to say.
She couldn’t help but turn around and leave, blushing and embarrassed.
Seeing her really going downstairs, Ivan Horne slowly buttoned up his shirt, then leisurely sat on the lounge chair beside the swimming pool, leaning back, squinting his eyes, and resting quietly.
Downstairs, the young beauty didn’t know how many curses she muttered against Ivan Horne in her heart. Ten years apart, he had become so cunning.
It seemed she couldn’t extract news about the Young Master from him.
The young beauty sat fiercely on the sofa, desperately twisting her fingers, then decided to go to the Ruiz Family to find Camila Ruiz.
If Ivan Horne knew the Young Master’s whereabouts, Camila Ruiz surely did as well.
Ten years without seeing her childhood playmate, she wanted to see if Camila, after the passage of time, also grew into a beauty, one whom Ivan Horne cherished dearly in his heart.
Florence Ford was stubborn by nature; she would pursue what she wanted to ask, no matter the difficulty.
Unable to get news about the Young Master from her father, she turned to the Horne Family members, and when that didn’t work, she planned to approach Camila Ruiz.
Determined, the young beauty immediately stood up from the sofa, turned and left the Horne Family’s main hall, and hailed a taxi outside to head to the South Hill District Riverside New Village.
Just as she reached the Ruiz Family’s villa gate and got out of the car, she saw a Ruiz Family nanny coldly sending a man in black out from inside. The man, upon seeing her, looked at her with eyes as sharp as knives.
Though Florence Ford was fearless, experiencing the cold gaze from the man in black made her lightly tremble inside.
"Florence Ford?"
The man stood in front of Florence Ford with an oppressive presence, his tall figure like a mountain looking down on her, making Florence feel disadvantaged. She slightly paused upon hearing him call her name.
She had no impression of the man in black; how did he know her name?
"Luke Ford is your father."
"Who are you?"
Florence looked at the man in black with full caution, secretly clenching her fists.
Only people from the Blaze Sect knew her father’s real name.
Was the man in black a Blaze Sect member?
She resembled her father a bit, so anyone familiar with him could tell she was Elder Argo’s daughter upon seeing her.
The man in black didn’t answer, directly striking at her neck. The young beauty reacted swiftly, dodging the man’s fierce chop. He then attacked again, and she quickly retaliated, the two engaging in a fight right before the Ruiz Family’s gate.
The young beauty’s martial arts were decent; for a fifteen-year-old girl, her skills were quite remarkable. But she lacked combat experience, and in just a few minutes, she was subdued by the man in black. Before she could question his identity, her neck was hit with intense pain, her vision darkened, her body weakened, and she collapsed.
The man in black showed no pity, casually grabbing her by the waist with one hand and dragging her into a black sedan, then got in himself and drove away.
The Ruiz Family nanny, who had sent the man out, witnessed the whole scene and was stunned speechless. Only after the sedan sped away did she react, trembling and shouting for help, alarming Hansen Ruiz and Rachel Bailey inside.
After hearing the nanny’s words, Hansen Ruiz told her not to worry since the visitor was a member from the Blaze Sect base, coming to inform them that their daughter was safe, naturally a person sent by Jimmy Horne.
