The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 90: Soap
Nia walked toward Princess Eleanor’s room with the plate in her hand.
Once she reached the door she could see someone standing there. Nia’s eyes narrowed.
’Sir Kit must be inside?’ Nia thought to herself as she took fast steps towards Princess Eleanor’s room. She could see someone knocking on the door.
"Kelly," Nia said with a confused gaze. She knew that Kelly was Princess Vida’s lady in waiting, someone from the Cenid kingdom but Nia could not understand what she was doing here at princess Eleanor’s door.
"What are you doing here?" Nia asked in a small tone. The confusion in her voice was evident as she looked at the woman with a questionable gaze.
Kelly looked at Nia as she took a sigh of relief. "Nia, thank god I found you here. I thought no one was there inside. Or even worse I thought I was knocking on the wrong door."
Nia smiled as she took a step forward. Her voice turned low as she said, "Princess Eleanor was not feeling well so she slept."
Nia observed Kelly whose eyes moved towards her hand. Nia knew the unasked question in her gaze, "Princess had not eaten much at the brunch and I was afraid that she must be hungry."
Kelly nodded her head in understanding. She had seen it with her own eyes what had happened with princess Eleanor. The Princess was not feeling well and her behaviors showed it.
"Well, I hope that Princess Eleanor gets well soon," Kelly said as she took a deep breath. She extended her hand as she gave a small glass bottle to Nia.
"Princess Vida had told Princess Eleanor that she would give her the medicine for the scar. It helps a lot and it is something that had helped Princess Vida personally."
Nia took the bottle as she nodded. "We are grateful to the Princess." Nia smiled, "It will let Princess Eleanor know that you have sent it."
Kelly nodded her head as she turned around, but before she walked out she stopped in her track and turned back, "I hope the Princess could get well soon."
Nia nodded her head as she saw Kelly walk away. Nia’s eyes sharpened as she looked down at the bottle in her hand.
Nia knew that Princess Vida had suffered from the attack as well, and with the brief interaction between them, Nia was confident that Kelly did not have any bad intentions toward Princess Eleanor but her heart still refused to believe it.
’No one is selfless here.’ Nia thought as she took a deep breath, ’I need to test this for poison before I could let the Princess use it.’
Nia looked at the empty corridors as she saw the guards standing at a distance. Her eyes lingered there for a brief second as she looked at the closed door.
Nia could only hope that Sir Kit and Princess Eleanor had a word with one another. Nia knocked on the door as she said, "Princess,"
"Come inside, Nia." Princess Eleanor’s voice was soft as if she didn’t want anyone else to listen to her.
Nia smiled as she realized that Sir Kit was not there. Nia entered the room but her eyes moved around just to confirm her judgment.
"He is not here," Princess Eleanor’s voice brought Nia back to reality. She looked at the Princess who was sitting on a chair in front of the table. "Let me eat,"
Nia nodded her head as she walked toward the Princess before keeping the plate in front of her. Nia swallowed hard as she gave herself the strength to say the next words, "I had mixed the powder. It will be enough to make you sick for two days." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Princess Eleanor nodded her head. A smile ford on her face, "Two days should be enough."
Nia was silent as she looked at Princess Eleanor who started eating the food as if there was nothing wrong with it. Nia took a deep breath as she put the glass bottle in front of the Princess.
"What is this?" Princess Eleanor asked as she looked at Nia while taking a mouthful.
"Kelly was here. Princess Vida’s lady in waiting. She said that Princess Vida had said that she would send you the cream that will help with the scar."
Princess Eleanor was in though. She knew that she had such a discussion with princess Vida but she never took it to heart. Any discussions and promises between the competitors become useless.
Princess Eleanor’s eyes stayed on the glass bottle as she blinked her eyes before looking at Nia.
Nia understood what Princess Eleanor wanted to say. She took the bottle as she said, "I just wanted to let the princess know. I will check if it contains any poison and once I make sure that it is safe I will give it to you to use."
Princess Eleanor smiled as she drank the soup that was there. Once she had swallowed everything down, Princess Eleanor was happy. She looked down at the now empty plate as she blinked.
"Nia we have received such a useful gift. You know how we repay this?" Princess Eleanor asked as her eyes stayed on the bottle.
"I will take the soaps that we have made out of roses to Princes Vida and I will make sure to inform her that it is good for her skin and make it smoother." Nia’s eyes stayed on Princess Eleanor who nodded her head in appreciation.
"Good and do not forget to give her Salvia flower’s soap as well." Princess Eleanor’s eyes sharpened, "You know which flower soap to give along with it if we found a poison in the cream right?"
Nia nodded her head. She had long known Princess Eleanor. The Princess was good with good but if someone tried to harm her with a friendlier face she did not turn her back, but she looked straight in their eyes and attacked with double force.
"Good. Let’s hope that we do not find any poison."
