The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 89: [Bonus - ]
Sir Kit looked at Princess Eleanor with wide eyes.
He knew that she would not be saying anything else. Sir Kit sighed as he said, "I will protect the Princess. I have promised and I will not go back on my words but you need to tell me the truth once we reach the Beaumont’s mansion."
Princess Eleanor nodded her head. She knew that she had to do it sooner or later and it was only a matter of time. She needed to search the place for clues and she herself cannot do that. Princess Eleanor will need Sir Kit’s help at the end of the day.
"I will," Princess Eleanor took a step towards Sir Kit as she touched his hand with a smile. "I will tell you everything."
Sir Kit did not know how to react. He looked at the Princess who was engrossed in her world. "The healers will be where soon."
Sir Kit nodded his head. His hand was caught in a warmth that was unknown to him. No matter how hard he tried to do anything, Sir Kit could not bring himself to move the hand.
"What if I want to meet you again?" Princess Eleanor asked as she looked up at the man. Keeping in mind how long it took for him to come, Princess Eleanor could understand how hard it must be for Nia to find the man. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"As I said the new escort will be assigned to you." Sir Kit could feel Princess Eleanor’s hand tighten around his. "The royal knights will be assigned to all the Princesses. As for when we will meet..."
Sir Kit was silent as he observed Princess Eleanor’s eyes. He could see the princess who was hoping to get a positive answer. "Princess, we can only meet when you enter the Beaumont mansion."
Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes. She did not know when that would be. How could she be sure that the Priest will not make her stay here for weeks in the name of treatment before giving it up? "When will that be?"
Princess Eleanor’s eyes trembled. She wanted to know that answer and she wanted to know it soon.
"In two days," Sir Kit said without any change in his tone. "We will meet in two days. Doctor Raul will be the one that will take care of you till then. You can trust him."
Princess Eleanor bit her lips. She did not want anyone else to get involved. "But..."
Before Princess Eleanor could finish her words she heard a knock on the door.
Princess Eleanor’s eyes widened as her heart trembled. An unknown fear started to form in her heart as she looked up at Sir Kit.
The man in the mask understood that Princess Eleanor was not ready to meet anyone else. He held her hand as he pulled the Princess towards him.
Princess Eleanor was frightened as she was about to shout but Sir kit had already estimated it. His hand moved over and blocked princess Eleanor’s mouth.
Princess Eleanor could not help but look up at Sir Kit with wide eyes. She had many things to say but she could not. Her gaze was locked on his but a knock on the door brought her back to reality.
Sir Kit looked down as he slowly removed his hand, "Who might it be?" Sir Kit whispered.
Princess Eleanor shook her head. She did not know who the person could be.
"Kelly," Princess Eleanor and Sir Kit heard Nia’s voice coming from outside as they took a sigh of relief.
They would hear Nia and the other lady talking outside. Sir kit looked down only to realize how close he was to Princess Eleanor.
Sir Kit swallowed hard when he saw Princess Eleanor looking at him with big bright eyes. Her face was pale but she still had the charm to attract anyone’s attention.
Before he could understand, Sir Kit’s hand touched Princess Eleanor’s cheeks. His thumb moved itself as it traced her dark circles that were evident.
’Is she not sleeping properly? Is the Princess still bothered by the nightmares?’ Sir Kit thought as he moved his face near the Princess.
Princess Eleanor was breathless. As Sir Kit’s hand touched her face a warm sensation spread through her body. Princess Eleanor became aware of her surroundings as her heart beats faster. She could only look up and stare at the deep black eyes of the man that moved toward her.
"Are you unwell?" Sir Kit asked in a whisper. His whole concentration was on Princess Eleanor who took a step back in fear.
The question brought her back to reality but while Princess Eleanor was taking a step back her lips touched Sir Kit’s thumb.
"You should go now. We will meet at Beaumont mansion," Princess Eleanor said in a hurry as she turned around to avoid Sir Kit’s eyes. The simple touch brought back memories of his lips on her.
Although it was for a brief second it was something she could never forget. Princess Eleanor closed her eyes as she touched her fingers to her lips. She did not want to think about it but the image was too vivid in her mind.
Sir Kit looked at Princess Eleanor’s back with a smile. He could not understand why she was so embarrassed but then he saw her flushed neck.
’Does she have a fever? I only asked her if she was feeling sick and she wanted to avoid me?’ Sir Kit was confused as he took a step toward the Princess. He was about to touch her shoulder when he heard the Princess’s voice.
"Nia is outside with someone. You should go,"
Sir Kit slowed her fingers into a fist as he took his hand back. He closed his eyes. ’She should not have a fever. Her body was not hot when I touched her.’ Sir Kit told himself as he smiled.
"Princess is right. I should leave." Sir Kit took a step towards the open window as he said, "And we will meet at Beaumont mansion."
