The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 87: Dangerous Road

Lady Gisella was shocked.

"Will Princess Eleanor enter the Beaumont mansion?" Lady Gisella asked but she kept her mouth closed when she saw the warning gaze. "I understand. I will make the arrangements."

Lady Gisella could not help herself but walk out. She closed her eyes as she tried to control her burning emotions. She knew that she could not go against the man’s words.

’I just hope that things do not turn worse.’ Lady Gisella thought before she made her way towards her room.

Princess Eleanor sat on the bed. Her eyes looked down at the vial in her hand.

’Should I take the smell?’ Princess Eleanor was silent. Her eyes stared at the bottle but she could not react. Nia’s words surrounded her mind.

’Is is dangerous,’

Princess Eleanor always knew that this was dangerous. The time she decided to enter the Roulux Empire she knew that she was going to be in danger.

Princess Eleanor took a deep breath as she walked towards a corner where she had her things kept. She kept the vial back as she returned to bed.

’Is it my mistake to come here? Should I have avoided coming here in the first place?’ Princess Eleanor thought but soon she realized how irrational her thoughts were. A smile formed on her face. ’It was never in my hand. I was forced to come here. I had to because there was no other Princess and my uncle, the King, decided to sacrifice me.’

’But it was not all. I wanted to come because I saw that thing,’ Princess Eleanor bit her lips. She thought back to the day that she had seen the seal with a dragon with Sir Kit.

’Yes, because of him I had to come here. The man who saved me had the same seal. And so did the people who attacked my family.’ Princess Eleanor’s eyes sharpened. ’They are related. I cannot forget it and I have never mistaken it.’

Princess Eleanor looked at the door that was closed. ’When will he come? The reason I want to enter Duke Beaumont’s house is because of Sir Kit and I need to make sure that he is by my side. I need to find the truth about my family’s murder and I need to find out who all were involved.’

Princess Eleanor’s back touched the bedsheet as she looked up. The sealings were painted beautifully but all she could see were the images that she wanted to forget.

Her mind started playing tricks on her as she saw the dreadful night when her family was attacked. Princess Eleanor was on the ground looking around helplessly as she saw the people fighting. Blood was scattered everywhere and she could hear her brother’s voice but she could not see him. The man was nowhere to be seen.

Princess Eleanor could not say anything. The fear was so huge that none of the words came out of her mouth. She could only lie on the ground and see people raising their swords as they attacked one another.

Princess Eleanor’s hands were filled with dirt as she tried to get up. She knew that she needed to find a safe place. Her family will come and find her, but as she was moving her hand she felt something.

Princess Eleanor wanted to ignore it but then she looked at it carefully. It was a badge with a flying dragon on it. Although it was not made up of gold Princess Eleanor knew that it was something important. Something that she cannot ignore.

Princess Eleanor’s eyes widened as she wanted to keep them in her palms. She knew that it did not belong to any one of her kingdom’s knights so it should only belong to the enemy.

But as soon as she held it in her hand, someone pulled her, and the badge that was in her hand fell to the ground. She struggled until a man came to her rescue and she saw a similar dragon seal on him.

Princess Eleanor could not forget it no matter how hard she tried. It even came in her dreams. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

’The dragons are the only reason I came here,’ Princess Eleanor thought as she closed her eyes. She took a few deep breaths as she got up from the bed. ’If I had not seen it on Sir Kit when we were in the Angevin Kingdom I would never have decided to come here. The people who attacked me and the one who saved me were both from here. They both belonged to the Roulux Empire,’

Princess Eleanor bit her lips nervously. ’They all have only one thing in common. The dragon. And the only person in the Empire that has a dragon as their symbol is Duke Beaumont. The man is my key and needs to enter his mansion.’

’I could only hope that I would get some useful information. I can only enter his mansion now. Because after I enter the Royal Palace I cannot go and stay there.’

Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes, ’It was a good thing that I saw both Seal and badge on Sir Kit’s coat. My destination is fixed. All I need to do is stay sick and be wounded so that I can take advantage of Sir Kit’s words and enter Beaumont’s mansion. I need to find out if the Grand Duke is involved or not before I make my way to the Royal Palace.’

’I need to make sure that I do not get healed here.’ Princess Eleanor was determined in her words. Her gaze turned sharp as she took deep breaths. She wanted to find and make everyone involved in her parents’ death suffer before she could go back to her Kingdom and make her uncle pay for his sin.

’Yes, everyone has to pay. No matter who they are. They killed my family. They took everything from me. It does not matter if I have to go on a dangerous road myself. After all, the road to revenge is never easy.’
