Chapter 86: New escort

Nia’s footsteps stopped as she looked back.

"Lady Gisella?" Nia said in a happy tone as if she had found her savior.

"Nia, what are you doing here? You looked tense." Lady Gisella said as she looked at Nia. She could see Princess Eleanor’s lady in waiting’s eyes were filled with nervousness as if she was ready to fight.

Nia took a step towards Lady Gisella. She knew from her stay with the lady that the person who might know where Sir Kit was will be her. "Lady Gisella, I need your help."

Nia looked around to make sure that no one was listening to her words. She was nervous as she bit her lips.

Lady Gisella could feel that something was bothering Nia. She smiled as he indicated her to follow.

Nia had no other choice but to obey. I followed Lady Gisella as she entered her room. As soon as the door was closed Lady Gisella turned around and she looked at Nia with a worried expression.

"What happened? You look tense. Is everything alright?" Lady Gisella asked but she did not get a reply. She could feel that Nia was hesitant to say the words. "Is it related to Princess Eleanor?"

Lady Gisella’s voice was soft as she asked while taking a step toward Nia.

Nia’s eyes widened but she soon maintained her expression. She knew that she could not show any emotions to anyone. But Nia also knew that she could tell Lady Gisella.

"I want to know where Sir Kit is," Nia said after she took a deep breath.

Lady Gisella’s eyes sharpened. "It will be difficult for you to find him. Is Princess Eleanor searching for him?"

Nia nodded her head. "I just want to have a word with him."

"Even though it is a single word, it will be next to impossible. I hope the Princess knows that once they enter the temple they will be assigned a new escort. Sir Kit cannot be assigned to her."

Nia was silent. She knew that she could not tell Lady Gisella the whole truth but she also knew that she could not go to the Princess empty handed.

"Lady Gisella, can I request you something?" Nia looked up. "Princess needs to meet Sir Kit. If it is only for a second, she needs to have a word with him. Can you please help me with this?"

"No," Lady Gisella said with a straight face. She did not even think twice before she said that. "You cannot go there to search for him."

Lady Gisella could see the change in expression on Nia’s face. Princess Eleanor’s lady in waiting had taken care of her when she was sick and Lady Gisella also knew that she needed to form a good relationship with the Princess herself. Even though they had created a good bond while they were traveling she needed to strengthen it.

"I cannot tell you where to find him, but I will let him find you." Lady Gisella said with a sigh. Her eyes were looking at Nia and she looked up at her as if she had found an angle in her.

Lady Gisella wanted to laugh. But she could not. Her gaze was observing Nia who nodded her head.

"Nia, you should go now. You need to pay attention to Princess Eleanor. Her wound is still not healed." Lady Gisella said as she looked at her.

"But Sir Kit...." Nia did not know how to ask, ’will he know where to find me?’ She could see that Lady Gisella was smiling, but her mind was somewhere else.

"He will know where to find you." Lady Gisella said with a smile.

Nia swallowed hard but she knew that Lady Gisella was her only ray of hope. She nodded her head as left the room.

Nia was confident that Sir Kit would find her. Lady Gisella would not go against her words so she walked toward the kitchen. She needed to get Princess Eleanor food.

Lady Gisella looked at Nia’s back as the door to her room was closed. She closed her eyes and she shook her head.

Lady Gisella took a few deep breaths as she walked outside making her way to the man’s room. Once she entered the corridor she could feel all the eyes on her.

Lady Gisella knew that if she had not seen Nia today, the lady would have searched the place up and down, and yet she could not find Sir Kit.

Lady Gisella looked at the guard who looked down at her. Although he did not say anything, his gaze was evident enough that he wanted to ask her what the purpose of the visit was.

"I need to talk with the Lord. Tell him it is urgent." Lady Gisella said as she waited outside.

The guard soon came out as he opened the door for the Lady to enter. Lady Gisella took a deep breath as she walked into the room.

"Lord," Lady Gisella said as she bit her lips. The room was well lit but she could only see the back of the man.

"Is there a reason for your visit?" A sharp tone said as Lady Gisella’s body stiffened.

"Princess Eleanor’s lady in waiting is searching for Sir Kit. I think it is related to the Princess." Lady Gisella said but she could not see any movement from the man. "She looked disparate. I think it must be urgent."

"It has to be," the man said, "I understand. She will meet Sir Kit soon. Anything else?"

Lady Gisella swallowed hard. "There is something."

The man turned around as he looked at Lady Gisella. His eyes were sharp as he was wearing a mask as if he was ready to go out.

"I got a report. Priest Erasmus had called Nia to visit him. It must be related to Princess Eleanor. I am worried that they will try and..."

"Do not worry. Nothing will happen to the Princess. She will soon enter Beaumont mansion."
