Chapter 82: Resentment

Nia smiles as she walks behind Princess Eleanor. She knew that the Princess was not in a good mood but what she was trying to pull made Nia speechless and proud.

Princess Eleanor wore a dress that was not too exaggerated. She only wore one pendant that she loves and cherish while she avoided wearing any other jewelry, Although Nia had tried to tell the Princess that maybe the Crown Prince will find it disrespectful but Princess Eleanor simple smiled and said, "He should better find it disrespectful I am doing this with that objective in mind."

Nia could not understand it then but now she knew.

Princess Eleanor looked around as she saw everyone sitting. She bowed her head as she indicated Nia, who moved forward in a hurry as she held Princess Eleanor’s body.

"Your Majesty the Crown Prince," Princess Eleanor said in a small voice as she bowed. Her body shivered in pain as her face turned pale.

"You may raise your head," A sharp voice made Princess Lenaor look at the man.

The Crown Prince Richard was looking at Princess Eleanor as he raised his eyebrows. "So you are the Princess from the Angevin Kingdom?"

Princess Eleanor swallowed hard as she nodded her head. She observed the man closely.

Crown Prince Richard had a strong build and a body to die for. It was not a wonder that he was called a flirt with his innocent eyes and deep voice it was understandable why women would fall for him.

Princess Eleanor looked around only to see that every Princess was dressed to impress. They were wearing exaggerated dresses with deep necklines. Their necks were covered in jewelry and their lips were painted red.

Princess Eleanor smiled as she thought to herself, ’That God that I am not interested in this man. The competition here is fierce.’

"Is there a reason for you being late?" The Crown Prince asked. He looked at the Princess who was not dressed for the occasion.

Crown Prince Richard’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the light violet dress that the Angevin Princess wore. The color was dull but it still suited her body. The only problem was that the Princess looked pale.

Anyone who saw her could see that she was not feeling well. Her body was shivering in pain and she struggled to stand still.

’Duke Beaumont said she injured her leg,’ Crown Prince Richard thought as his eyes moved towards the Princess’s leg but the huge gown blocked his view. The crown Prince shook his head as his eyes stayed focused on the Princess.

Her black hair was pulled back into a bun. Although there was no makeup on her skin, The Princess still shined under the sun. ’What a pity that she has to stay at Beaumont mansion,’

The Crown prince said as he looked at Princess Eleanor to hear her reply. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Princess Eleanor was silent as she bit her lips. Her eyes were tinted with water as she said, "I didn’t mean to be late. I could not walk fast.."

Princess Eleanor’s voice was soft and low, making everyone look at her. But Princess Eleanor herself looked down at the ground as if she was afraid to look at the man himself.

Nia held back her laughter as she followed Princess Eleanor’s example. She knew what the Princess was trying to do and Nia wanted to help her.

Crown Prince Richard shook his head as he said in an uninterested tone, "Take a seat, Princess. You are wasting others’ time."

Princess Eleanor nodded her head as she walked towards the chair that was vacant. Nia stood at some distance along with the other lady in waiting once she made sure that princess Eleanor was comfortable.

Princess Eleanor looked at the crown Prince. When she was standing alone and everyone’s eyes were on her, she could not stare at the man openly as she was afraid of provoking the hate of other Princesses. She even wanted to make sure that the Crown Prince made sure that he was not interested in her so that she did not face the internal struggle and jealousy of others.

Princess Eleanor wanted to know the truth. She was here for a mission and every step she took was with the goal in mind.

Princess Eleanor looked at the Crown Prince who was laughing and talking with the other princesses. She could feel the stiff air surrounding her.

Princess Eleanor was happy that she wasn’t a part of this power struggle yet. She knew that none of the Princesses there looked at her with envy or resentment.

Princess Eleanor knew that she was beautiful but it was due to the fact that she was feeling sick that her complexion looked worse.

’Should I stop drinking the soup made from the roots?’ Princess Eleanor thought but she soon pushed the thought out of her mind. She knew that if it was not because of her appearance now, then how could she focus on her mission.

Princess Eleanor ignored all the gossip surrounding her. Her focus was on the man who was the focal point of everyone. Princess Eleanor’s eyes scanned the Crown Prince. She wanted to know if he was involved in the murder of her parents.

Not only him but if any of the Royal Family was involved in it or not. Princess Eleanor’s eyes moved down as she saw the man wearing a small badge made up of gold. She could not see it clearly but her eyes stayed in shape.

It wasn’t a regular badge that was round or square or even triangle. It was like a drop of water. The unusual shape made it easier to identify, and Princess Eleanor’s breathing hitched. She knew where she had seen the badge.

Princess Eleanor’s breathing hitched as her eyes stayed fixed on the badge. If she could, Princess Eleanor would want to burn it to the ground. Her hand formed a fist as she narrowed her eyes.

"Isn’t he handsome," A voice brought her back to reality.
