The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 63: You’re Fired!
By the time Nicholas heard about her antics, it was already late afternoon. He was too busy to visit his wife, and now that he visited, he heard the nurses complaining about a particular patient, threatening to jump out the window if they didn’t listen to her wishes.
At first, he brushed it off and decided to move forward.
He was here only to see whether that woman was still alive. That’s it. It wasn’t like he wanted to have anything to do with that woman in any case.
Thus, he continued onward, ignoring the chatter of the nurses. But when they uttered the number of her room, Nicholas’s steps finally stopped.
He glanced back. The frown on his forehead made his expression even more serious as he asked coldly, "What did you say about that patient?"
The nurses who were chattering earlier with great pleasure, sharing a gossip, silenced as they exchanged a glance. Then they shook their heads and hurried away.
Nicholas continued to watch their backs as his frown deepened.
Was he so frightening that even those nurses refused to speak a single word?
Fine, he would find out about it by himself. Despite not being able to hear the entire thing, he already knew what kind of mess his dear wife must have created. His fingers curled in a fist as it clenched. He took a deep breath to calm himself down as he approached the door to room 1087.
But just as he was about to open the door wide, Abigail’s cheerful laughter vibrated from the crack of the door.
"Oh my God!" Abigail exclaimed and asked, "Then what did you do after your husband asked for forgiveness?"
"I’m a compassionate lady." The head nurse was appointed to this room 24/7, so she had no choice but to chat with her patient and keep her busy. "So I ended up forgiving him, but not before forcing him to do all the household work."
"Household work?" Abigail’s eyes lit up at that as she asked excitedly, "If I catch my husband drinking wine, should I tell him the same?"
"Sure...." The head nurse was about to say more but her words were swallowed to the pit of her stomach when she saw the door opening and revealing that VIP husband, who was staring at her with a cold and icy expression on his face.
The head nurse chuckled nervously and changed her words quickly, "Sure not! Not everyone is like my lazy husband! Your husband is handsome and caring. How can he ever do anything to hurt you?"
Nicholas’s expression eased after hearing those words as he nodded. Even Abigail’s eyes lit up as she nodded like a good student and said, "So that’s how it is. Alright. I’ll forgive my husband if he ever commits a sin despite the consequences!"
"No!" The head nurse instantly shook her head. "Don’t forgive him if he hit you." She felt like she should say those words despite the death glare she received from the VIP husband of this patient. It wasn’t right to teach a naive girl something like this! "Domestic violence and a loveless marriage is a big no! If he ever goes that path, you are free to leave him any moment!"
"Really?" Abigail thought of something and frowned.
Shouldn’t it be that according to this lady’s words, Abigail should have left her husband a long time ago already? He had already hurt her jaw and didn’t marry for love.
Huh... Maybe she should go far away from her husband.
Just as she was thinking about this, she heard the man’s cold and icy voice from her back, directing to the head nurse. "Since you have so much time to talk, why don’t you go and treat other patients? You’re off duty from now on. I’ll appoint someone else."
"Sir!" The head nurse wanted to hit herself for speaking so bluntly. Now she was on the verge of losing her job! "I didn’t mean it! I was only guiding her and-"
"No need." Nicholas didn’t want such people around Abigail who could misguide his wife. He would find the best nurse possible to treat the woman. "You’re fired. I’ll tell the director to replace you with someone else."
How did he get the authority to fire a nurse? Because this was a Harrison hospital! Since he was a trustee, he could fire anyone he wanted.
The staff members and doctors didn’t know that. So the head nurse became instantly angry after hearing those words and stood up, pointing her finger at the man. "Who are you to fire me?! This is our hospital, and I have been working here for years! Even the director doesn’t dare to fire me."
"That’s why," Nicholas added calmly, "Being a trustee of this hospital, I’m correcting the director’s mistake and firing you from your job. You can complain about your damned married life all you want to your neighbors."
Abigail, who was on the side, finally stood up protectively in front of the head nurse and glared at her husband. "You’re not firing her!"
"I am!"
"You’re not!"
"Oh?" Nicholas felt he had turned into a child or something arguing with her. "You can stop me?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Oh yes!" Abigail crossed her arms over her chest. By this time, she didn’t have a blood bag anymore, and was given a slight break from glucose. So she was free to use her hands.
She raised her head arrogantly and said, "I’m also Mrs. Harrison. Technically, I can manage the entire hospital and kick anyone out with a flick of my fingers!"
The head nurse’s eyes widened as her legs trembled. She held the window frame to stop herself from falling to the ground.
These VIP guests were actually the real trustees of this hospital, and she dared to treat them lightly! Ah, how could she be so stupid?! She actually tried threatening the trustee!
She wanted to cry bitterly at her terrible fate, but she didn’t dare to utter a peep.
"Then kick her out." Nicholas spoke with a straight face as he fooled his own wife into listening to him. "I bet you can’t."
"Who says I can’t?!" Abigail’s anger flared as she turned toward the head nurse and said, "You’re fired! Get out of here!"
"But-"
"Didn’t you hear me?" Abigail put her hand on her waist and pointed to the door with her free hand, saying, "Get out, or should I call security?"
