Chapter 61: She’s Finally Sane

Nicholas also noticed things going out of hands. So before his wife could even respond, he grabbed the woman’s wrist and dragged her to the room, shutting the door on her face.

"You, how can you treat her like this?!" Asher got mad once again after seeing his cousin acting like a little jealous child. "She’s a woman!"

"And she’s also my wife." Nicholas crossed his arms over his chest and raised his chin. "Now, get out of here before I call security."

After speaking like that, he stopped a nurse and said, "My wife needs some medical support."

The nurse nodded and walked inside, tentatively ignoring the two arguing men outside the room. But before closing the door, she whispered, "Can the two of you tone down? This is a hospital."

Nicholas pointed to his cousin. "Kick him out then."

"You-"Asher took a deep breath and thought silently.

He had thought it would be easy to deal with this man because Nicholas had already shown he didn’t care about the life and death of Abigail. But who would have thought this person would change colors faster than a chameleon?!

Now, he would have to change his tactics. He really didn’t want to involve Abigail in the picture, but if she were to choose him over his cousin, even Nicholas wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.

He sneered inwardly, adjusted his shirt, and lifted his head, speaking with an air of arrogance, "My dear cousin, the battle is on. Don’t assume I’ve backed down just because you’re being obstinate. Let’s see if she still dares to pick a jerk like you over a sweetheart like me, the perfect husband material."

Nicholas’s reply?

He honestly didn’t care. He just thought this person was being too difficult to handle. He already had to face Abigail’s mess. Please, don’t bring in his cousin who didn’t know when to shut up.

He merely turned around and entered the door, closing the door on Asher’s nose.

The latter also didn’t continue to stand there and let others make fun of him. He took a deep breath and walked outside the corridor, heading downstairs.

Since he had already decided to take the matter in his own hands, the first thing to do was getting Abigail to spend a lot of time with him. At this time, even he knew that the woman wouldn’t give him a single glance if he dared to propose to her right on the spot.

First, he would have to throw her a hook and wait for her to grab it, setting herself in his trap. Only that way could he take Abigail away from her disaster of a husband. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Upon thinking of Nicholas, Asher’s fist clenched as he finally walked to his car and entered.

Honestly, he could have stood there and fought Nicholas to death for Abigail’s favor, but even he knew there was only that damned cousin of his in the woman’s heart. So what else could he do but walk away? It wasn’t like he chose to fall in love with Abigail in the first place and worried for her life under her cold and loveless husband!

He turned on the engine and drove away. He would definitely think of a way to solve this issue and bring that woman under his grasp as soon as possible! He couldn’t trust Nicholas even one bit!

Suddenly, an idea sparked up in his head as the corners of his lips curved up.

Ah, now even Nicholas won’t be able to stop him from spending a lot of time with Abigail! He just needed a little time to prepare for it!

Nicholas didn’t know what his cousin was plotting against him. As soon as he entered the room, he watched how Abigail was chit chatting with the nurse and laughing.

"Oh, my God! Where did you read that novel?" Abigail’s voice vibrated into the background with a little touch of excitement. "Can you send me the link? No, wait, let me add you to WhatsApp first!"

She pulled out her phone to add the woman only for it to be snatched away. She instantly raised her head only to shut her mouth once again.

Ah, it was her husband once again.

She pursed her lips and said, "You’re back."

"You don’t seem happy." Nicholas almost felt like this lady wanted to kick him out, which irritated him even more.

If that Asher was to enter this room, would she react differently than this?

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became.

He simply stuffed her phone in his pockets and walked out of the room without saying a word. Behind him, Abigail was baffled and frowned.

It was her who had bipolar disorder. Since she was sane at this point, she was well aware of her problems and immediately wanted to talk to her husband to find her a psychiatrist before her mania starts again.

Her mania phase usually continued on and on for days, even months at times when she didn’t have medication. On the contrary, her depression phase wouldn’t be as manic, but if she were to be depressed, it would be completely horrific. We have already seen what else she could do when depressed.

Thus, Abigail wanted to have a serious chat with the man, tell him about her problems. But this person...

Sigh...

Why did she have to make him so cold, rude, and impatient? He didn’t even bother listening to her at all!

Abigail sighed and asked the nurse, "Is there a psychiatric department in your hospital?"

"There is." The nurse frowned. "Why don’t you talk to your husband about it first? He should know if you’re facing some mental issues."

"You think I don’t want to?" Abigail scoffed and crossed her arms on her chest. "He’s being difficult. It’s best if I can find the doctor myself and get checked."

"Alright." The nurse finally agreed and said, "But first, let’s deal with your health first. You need blood and glucose. When the doctor sees you fit enough to walk around, we will go."

Abigail turned anxious as she held the nurse’s hand. "No, I want to go now! You don’t understand, my condition might be a little special!"

"What kind of condition?" The nurse tilted her head in confusion.

Abigail pursed her lips as she continued to look at the nurse anxiously. She could tell the woman about her condition, but then, it wouldn’t be an idle situation.

Was she a psychiatrist who knew what kind of sickness she had? No.

In this world, she was a completely ordinary person. So she couldn’t self-diagnose and create trouble for herself.

So Abigail swallowed her words and forced out a word, "Okay."
