Chapter 401: Chapter 403: A Vile, Snide Mouth

Looking at the faint, almost imperceptible smile on Jeanette Kensington’s lips, Naomi Kenway couldn’t help but laugh inwardly.

"Are you ready?" the referee asked.

Naomi Kenway and Jeanette Kensington locked eyes, both got into their stances, and then nodded at the referee.

In wrestling, you win by using lunges, pulls, throws, and trips to make your opponent touch the ground.

Every move Almur had demonstrated replayed in Naomi Kenway’s mind. The moment the referee announced the start of the match, she met Jeanette Kensington’s lunging body.

Naomi was confident she could win in an instant. However, seeing the cold sweat breaking out on Jeanette’s forehead and her defiant gaze, Naomi suddenly decided to change her strategy. ’Ending the fight too quickly would be no fun.’

Jeanette Kensington felt an immense force coming from Naomi. Her body swayed, and she nearly fell. Just when she was about to give out, she felt Naomi ease up on the pressure, giving her a chance to catch her breath.

Before she could even feel relieved, she was once again subjected to the torment of Naomi’s brute strength, and cold sweat beaded on her forehead again.

This repeated several times, and Jeanette started to feel like a mouse being toyed with. She wanted to get angry or just forfeit the match, but the sight of the smile on Naomi’s face filled her with an inexplicable rage.

’How can I lose to Naomi Kenway...’

’My competitive spirit won’t allow it...’

The people in the audience started whispering among themselves. Margaret Jennings leaned over and whispered to Miles Sanders, "I didn’t expect Jeanette Kensington to have a few tricks up her sleeve. She looks so delicate, I never thought she’d have this much strength. I know how strong Nina is, so I thought this match would be over in a heartbeat, but it’s lasted this long..."

"I’m not so sure," Miles said. "Naomi’s use of force is strange. There were several times she clearly could have won but inexplicably let go. I feel like she’s deliberately toying with Jeanette..."

Margaret’s eyes widened slightly. "Really?"

The match went on for an unusually long time. In the end, Jeanette collapsed, completely exhausted, and fell straight to the ground. Dizzy and disoriented, she fell into the arms of Caleb Bishop, who had rushed to her side.

Naomi glanced at her with a hint of disappointment. ’I thought she would have been able to hold out longer...’

The referee declared Naomi Kenway the winner of the match.

During the break, Jeanette Kensington gradually recovered. She got up, found Naomi, and said with a smile, "You really are amazing. I know you’re very strong and have always been talented in this area. That’s something I can’t help but envy. When I was little, I could only stay home with my father, playing the piano and dancing. I never had a chance to go out and play. I’ve often thought that if I had been as free as you were as a child, maybe I would have developed a strong physique like yours too."

"What is there to envy about me? They say everyone has different strengths. In your eyes, I’m just a brute, so of course, there are areas where I can’t compare to you—like that snide, nasty mouth of yours," Naomi said leisurely. "And another thing, rest assured. Even if you had been free as a child, you still wouldn’t have a physique like mine."

Jeanette’s expression seemed to turn to stone. "You have far too much hostility about you."

"It’s a lot more honest than your deliberate passive-aggressiveness." Naomi took a step forward and asked with a smile, "You could only stay home with your father, learning piano and dance? What are you trying to feel superior about? You poor, pitiful thing..."

A mocking smile played on Naomi’s lips.

[Learning piano and dance is what so many people dream of, but in Jeanette Kensington’s mouth, it sounds pitiful. I hate being poor!]

[One man’s meat is another man’s poison. If she really didn’t like piano and dance but was forced to learn, then Jeanette is quite pitiful.]

[But Jeanette doesn’t hate dancing and playing the piano! Every time she talks about her talents, she’s always so proud. What’s the point of her saying something like this today?]

[Isn’t it obvious? She’s mocking Naomi for having nothing but brute strength, unlike her, who is so multi-talented. Seriously, even after losing, she still has to try and get under her opponent’s skin...]

[Why did Naomi wrestle like that? Isn’t she just messing with her? She’s deliberately bullying our Jeanette!]

[Naomi didn’t break any rules. How she fights is her business. Besides, it’s not like Naomi tied Jeanette’s hands and feet. Jeanette was the one who insisted on continuing. She’s just suffering for the sake of her own pride!]

Jeanette Kensington returned to her spot and watched Naomi Kenway continue to wrestle.

Before long, she had defeated Chelsea Raines and Ruby Preston in succession, becoming the champion of the moms’ group.

Something flickered in Jeanette Kensington’s eyes. She smiled faintly and asked Caleb Bishop, who was beside her, "Caleb, who do you think is better at wrestling, me or Naomi?"

Caleb Bishop gave her a quizzical look. "Isn’t the result already out?"

"I’m not asking about the match result. I’m asking what *you* think."

Caleb Bishop frowned and glanced at the surrounding cameras. "The result is already out. There’s no point in asking this."

The tour guide announced the results of the competition over a megaphone. Based on the combined scores of the couples, Naomi Kenway’s family took first place, followed by Margaret Jennings’ family. Jeanette Kensington’s family was in the middle, with Ruby Preston’s and Chelsea Raines’ families coming in last.

"Yay! Mom, Dad, we’re first! Mom and Dad are the best!" Ian jumped up and down with excitement.

Naomi couldn’t help but smile as well.

The next event was horseback riding, which was also split into dads’ and moms’ groups competing separately. Before the competition began, a professional herdsman came over to give instructions.

Naomi wasn’t worried about this competition. Both she and Ethan Shaw had learned to ride before. The difference was that Ethan had learned as a child, while she had practiced for a role while filming.

Just then, Chelsea Raines let out a cry of surprise.

"Miss Kensington, you know how to ride a horse? That’s so unexpected! I thought you only liked talents like singing and dancing. I never would have guessed you could ride!"

Jeanette Kensington replied humbly, "I only learned a little. It wasn’t for very long, just two years."

"Only two years? That’s more than enough! You’re much better than us amateurs!" Chelsea Raines said, giving her a thumbs-up. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

"It’s nothing, really." Jeanette waved her hands dismissively. "If we’re really competing, I’m probably no match for Nia. She has so many talents. I’m sure she’ll walk all over me..."

Chelsea Raines looked at her, confused, not understanding what she meant by that.

"It’s not just me. I think the championship will definitely be hers. After all, she’s excellent at everything. Just like in the wrestling match, she won so easily." Jeanette deliberately raised her voice.

She said this because she knew Naomi Kenway had never learned to ride a horse. Horseback riding wasn’t like wrestling; you couldn’t win with brute force alone.

Hearing this, Chelsea Raines felt a bit uncomfortable. "The competition hasn’t even started, and you’re already hyping up Naomi? Maybe she is amazing, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll lose to her."
