Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence-Chapter 254 - 248: The Nine-headed Demon Serpent’s Trump Card
The arrival of the Golden Dragon Sun was like a searing-hot branding iron plunging into a frozen lake, instantly creating monstrous waves.
The Dragon Breath brutally tore a massive gash in Blood River’s Domain. As the golden torrent of Flame swept through, the viscous blood vaporized and the foul energy was purified with a piercing SIZZLE. A strange odor, a mix of acrid smoke and blood, filled the air.
"ROAR!"
Blood River clearly hadn’t expected the Golden Dragon’s Dragon Breath to be so overwhelming. It not only contained terrifyingly high temperatures but also possessed a sacred, purifying attribute that was a natural counter to his evil Domain, which relied on Qi and Blood Power.
The Blood River at his feet churned violently, transforming into a raging torrent.
Then, as if defying gravity, the several-hundred-meter-long Blood River surged upward, coiling and condensing high in the air.
Countless viscous streams of blood and wraithlike specters intertwined, finally molding themselves into a Blood Serpent that was also hundreds of meters long!
This Blood Serpent had no scales; its body was composed entirely of flowing blood. Malice and madness burned in its two crimson eyes.
It opened its massive maw and let out a silent roar, sending concentric ripples of blood-red energy expanding through the air.
’Interesting.’
High above, Storm Griffin King Baofeng, Raylo’s mount, beat his wings uneasily and let out a low growl.
The Golden Dragon Sun showed no fear in the face of this massive Blood Serpent. Instead, an even more fervent battle lust burned in its eyes.
It let out a clear, ringing draconic cry, then nimbly swerved its colossal body through the air, dodging the Blood Serpent’s attempt to bite down on its head.
Blazing Flame erupted from its golden claws, which became like burning blades as they slashed viciously at the Blood Serpent’s body.
"RIP!"
The dragon’s claws easily tore through the Blood Serpent’s body, sending viscous blood flying.
However, the splattered blood didn’t fall. It swirled in the air before flowing back into the Blood Serpent’s wound, healing it in the blink of an eye.
The Blood Serpent violently whipped its tail—a long, blood-red lash that seemed to tear the sky—at Sun’s flank, accompanied by a sharp, piercing whistle.
Sun beat its wings, narrowly gaining altitude to avoid the heavy, powerful strike.
For a time, the sky became an arena for the two Giant Beasts.
The Golden Dragon and the Blood Serpent circled, grappled, and tore at each other high above.
Every collision unleashed a shocking blast of energy.
Dragon Breath and bloody light clashed, draconic cries and monstrous hisses rang out in unison, and showers of golden flame and crimson liquid rained down from the sky. The battle was incredibly fierce.
Raylo watched the battle below in silence.
Sun’s fighting style was grand and unrestrained, filled with a raw, powerful beauty.
But a slight frown creased Raylo’s brow.
He realized that from their previous encounters up until now, Sun had relied solely on its formidable body, sharp claws, and overwhelming Dragon Breath to fight.
It hadn’t used a Domain.
Raylo suddenly understood: Sun probably hadn’t comprehended its own Domain yet.
A Giant Dragon’s life cycle is incredibly long. Although Sun was enormous and had reached Tier Five in Power, it was likely only just entering its youth by Giant Dragon standards.
It hadn’t possessed Tier Five Power long enough to internalize its experiences and comprehend its own Law. That was perfectly reasonable.
The gap between a Tier Five powerhouse without a Domain and an opponent of the same tier fighting from within their own Domain was immense.
The only reason Sun could fight Blood River on even terms was due to the innate racial advantages of Giant Dragons and its own powerful defenses.
But this couldn’t last.
However, with Sun joining the fray, the balance of the battle had already been broken.
The Eternal Giant Turtle had been fighting two against one, but now it was a fair one-on-one duel.
Freed from the pressure of dealing with Blood River, the Eternal Giant Turtle was instantly in a much better position.
Its mountain-like head turned toward Poison Fang, and a cold, sharp glint flashed in its murky eyes.
It was no longer on the defensive. Taking heavy strides, it launched a direct assault on Poison Fang’s Plague Domain.
"THUD! THUD! THUD!"
The earth trembled with every step it took.
Its "Eternity" Domain flared brightly, pressing forward like a moving mountain range and forcefully compressing the toxic marsh of dark green and deep purple.
Although Poison Fang’s Domain was insidious and bizarre, it began to crumble in the face of absolute Power.
Raylo scanned the entire battlefield.
High in the sky, the Golden Dragon Sun was locked in a fierce struggle with the serpent manifestation of Blood River.
On the ground, the Eternal Giant Turtle was overwhelming Poison Fang, having retaken the initiative.
Everything seemed to be developing in their favor.
If this was the extent of the Demon Serpent Legion’s trump cards, then their grand expedition was doomed to fizzle out right here.
’But... could it really be this simple?’
Raylo’s gaze swept past the raging battle toward the silent main formation of the Demon Serpent Legion in the distance.
A thought sprouted in his mind.
The Nine-headed Demon Serpent was clearly obsessed with killing the Eternal Giant Turtle, the original master of the Jade Swamp.
So much so that even after driving the Eternal Giant Turtle to the Black Water River, the Nine-headed Demon Serpent hadn’t hesitated to send a massive legion, led by two Domain Powerhouses, across a vast distance to finish the job.
’How could they not have prepared a definitive, killing blow?’
It was already difficult for powerhouses of the same tier to determine a victor, let alone kill one another.
This was especially true when the opponent was the Eternal Giant Turtle, a creature renowned for its defense.
’Blood River and Poison Fang, two Domain Level Powerhouses, are probably not all they have.’
The instant that thought flashed through Raylo’s mind, the battlefield changed abruptly!
In the distance, behind the Snake-man Battle Group led by Blood River, a blood-red mist so thick it seemed tangible began to rise from the ranks of the deathly still army.
This blood mist was completely different from Blood River’s Domain.
If Blood River’s Domain was about rage and aggression, then this blood mist was about stillness and finality—a purer form of evil.
It appeared so suddenly, so silently, like a vast, blood-colored curtain quietly blanketing the sky.
Within the mist, tens of thousands of Snake-men could be vaguely seen sitting cross-legged. They held their Weapons high, chanting incantations. Each Snake-man’s body trembled slightly as tendrils of blood-red energy drifted from the crowns of their heads, gathering in the mist above.
This was a massive and evil sacrificial ritual!
The thick blood mist churned, writhed, and coalesced high in the air, finally forming a silhouette so enormous it was terrifying.
It was a gigantic Demon Serpent head.
It was even larger than the Eternal Giant Turtle’s entire body. It had no distinct features—only two bottomless, empty eye sockets and a massive maw that was slowly opening.
