The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 400 - 402: What Exactly Is Your Relationship with Caleb Bishop?
"Why was it over so fast?" Jared Woods cried out in surprise. But when he looked at the stage, he saw Gene Woods sprawled on the mat, grimacing, while the victor, Ethan Shaw, stood there looking calm and composed.
The match ended so quickly that many people in the crowd hadn’t even processed what happened.
"My daddy won!" Ian cheered, pulling Naomi Kenway onto the stage by her hand.
"Daddy, how did you lose!" Jared Woods burst out crying with a WAHHH. He plopped onto the ground, his short legs kicking wildly as he covered his face and wept.
Chelsea Raines covered her face with her hand, looking utterly mortified. "That useless oaf... He went down after barely a struggle. He’s completely embarrassed me..."
Naomi Kenway was pulled onto the stage by Ian.
Ethan Shaw’s breathing was still steady, and his clothes were perfectly smooth, without a single wrinkle. He smiled and said, "See? I didn’t lie to you, did I?"
"You just threw him straight to the ground. How did I never know you’d studied wrestling?" Recalling the photos she had seen in his office, Naomi Kenway felt that Ethan Shaw’s hobbies were more extensive than she’d realized. ’I thought he just sat in an office and played golf occasionally. I never imagined he had so many hidden talents...’
Seeing Naomi Kenway’s dazed look, Ethan Shaw couldn’t resist tapping her on the nose. "Where did your mind wander off to? I’m not that versatile."
"So you’re saying this is your first time wrestling?"
Ethan Shaw nodded. "Just a lucky win."
Gene Woods lay sprawled on his back on the ground, groaning, "Ouch, my back... my poor old back..."
Before the match started, he had been confident of victory. He knew this kind of wrestling was a test of physique. Although Ethan Shaw was much taller than him, he wasn’t nearly as heavy. At over two hundred pounds, Gene had thought his solid weight would make it easy to throw Ethan Shaw.
Who would have thought that just seconds after the match began, he’d be the one thrown to the ground.
The pain brought back some unpleasant memories for Gene Woods. He had been kicked by Ethan Shaw before. ’I should have realized back then that he wasn’t a pushover. If I had known, I would have been more careful. A win would have at least let me show off on the internet!’
Feeling the pain wracking his body, Gene Woods instinctively wanted to lash out in anger, but the thought of Ethan Shaw’s status made the burgeoning rage subside. He struggled to his feet and said to Ethan Shaw, "Oof... Mr. Shaw, you’re really something else. Took me down in just a couple of moves. I, Gene Woods, accept my defeat wholeheartedly. I’ll have to ask you for another ’discussion’ someday. I hope you’ll be generous with your instruction then!"
After Gene Woods finished speaking, he realized Ethan Shaw hadn’t responded. He had been completely ignored.
Unable to hide his embarrassment, Gene Woods gave a couple of light coughs and got off the stage, pretending nothing had happened.
Next up was Ethan Shaw’s match against Miles Sanders. Unsurprisingly, Ethan Shaw won again. Miles Sanders smiled, stood up, and shook his hand. "President Shaw, you’re incredible!"
"Daddy’s so strong," Ian said, draped over Naomi Kenway’s shoulder.
"He is," Naomi Kenway said, finally starting to relax. "Come on, let’s go over and see."
Caleb Bishop was very lucky. There was an odd number of contestants, so he’d drawn a bye during the lottery. He only needed to compete in one match against a previous winner.
However, right now, Caleb Bishop was clearly not in a good mood. He watched the picture-perfect family on stage, an increasingly bitter feeling growing in his heart.
’It seems Naomi Kenway’s family really is quite close...’
Caleb Bishop quietly clenched his fists. He hadn’t cared much about the results of the competition before, but now, a resolve to win suddenly ignited within him.
Before leaving the stage, Naomi Kenway said, "Caleb Bishop is next. He’s got some training—he’s studied Taekwondo and Sanda before. Be careful when you face him."
Ethan Shaw’s mind was clearly elsewhere. His eyes narrowed slightly. "How do you know that? Why do you know so much about him?"
He couldn’t help but grab Naomi Kenway’s arm. "What exactly is the relationship between you two?"
"He, Jeanette Kensington, and I all graduated from the same university." With so many cameras around, Naomi Kenway didn’t want to give the media a chance to spin a story.
The pressure from Ethan Shaw’s hand gradually lessened. "Alright. I’ll be careful."
According to the rules of the competition, Ethan Shaw first shook hands with Caleb Bishop as a sign of respect. He extended his hand nonchalantly, but when he noticed the fighting spirit in Caleb’s eyes, he raised his gaze slightly and smiled.
"Mr. Shaw, what’s the meaning of this? Are you looking down on me?" Caleb Bishop said, his tone hostile.
"Yes."
Caleb Bishop hadn’t expected Ethan Shaw to actually nod. A sense of humiliation washed over him. He clenched his fists and warned in a low voice:
"Then you’d better watch yourself."
The moment the words left his mouth, Caleb Bishop lunged forward.
Naomi Kenway hadn’t been wrong. Caleb Bishop indeed had some skill. A more serious look entered Ethan Shaw’s eyes, but his movements remained fluid and effortless.
The wrestling match between the two was surprisingly exciting, and the cheers of the crowd erupted once more.
After some time, sweat beaded on Caleb Bishop’s forehead. He failed to dodge in time and was tripped to the ground by Ethan Shaw. He immediately bounced back up, but it was too late.
His body had touched the ground, which meant he had lost. Caleb Bishop slammed his fist on the mat in frustration, his face a mask of defiance.
"You fought well," Ethan Shaw said, extending a hand and looking down at him.
Caleb Bishop forced a smile and took his hand. "I was careless this time. Next time, I definitely won’t let you win so easily!"
Ethan Shaw had already withdrawn his gaze coolly. He bent down, lifted Ian, and placed him on his shoulders. "Whatever makes you happy."
Caleb Bishop clenched his hands, his expression turning ugly.
[LMAO, "whatever makes you happy," what the hell was that? So he’s really just ignoring the guy’s challenge.]
[Caleb Bishop must be fuming.]
[I knew President Shaw was on another level, hahaha. He even took down a huge guy like Gene Woods!]
[Congrats to brother-in-law on the win! Now it’s time to see how the ladies do.]
...
Naomi Kenway stepped forward to draw a lot. As luck would have it, she looked up and her eyes met Jeanette Kensington’s.
Jeanette Kensington smiled and said, "We’re in the second match. I’ll be counting on your guidance later."
The first match began quickly. It was between Margaret Jennings and Chelsea Raines.
It was obvious neither of them was very skilled at wrestling, but by comparison, Chelsea Raines was a little more at ease.
With the sound of a whistle, Chelsea Raines won through superior strength.
Margaret Jennings and Chelsea Raines left the stage, while Naomi Kenway and Jeanette Kensington got on, one after the other.
Naomi Kenway started by stretching her limbs.
Jeanette Kensington watched Naomi Kenway’s textbook-perfect warm-up movements from across the stage and said with a smile, "You learned so quickly. You really are well-suited for this kind of sport."
"In a minute, you’ll see that warming up isn’t the only thing I’m good at."
"You still like to talk big, just like when we were kids." Jeanette Kensington covered her mouth and chuckled. "Well then, I’ll be waiting to see it."
