Chapter 625: Chapter 618 The Reward for All the Hard Work

Mecha, Luo Xingyu.

Luo Xingyu had arrived from Shenzhou wearing her mecha.

Gao Yuan had been through too many shocks today; life is full of ups and downs, but the amplitude of today’s roller coaster was a bit too much.

Gao Yuan seemed a bit dazed; he wanted to cry yet also wanted to laugh. He could never have imagined Luo Xingyu actually being here. It was plausible that Shenzhou would send reinforcements, and he had always been waiting for them to arrive.

But Luo Xingyu’s arrival was something Gao Yuan truly didn’t expect.

"Xiaoyu..."

Luo Xingyu squatted down, or to be precise, the mecha squatted down, and then Gao Yuan was able to look Luo Xingyu in the eyes.

Luo Xingyu’s head was inside a nearly round helmet, much like the spherical helmets used in spacesuits. When she squatted down and looked Gao Yuan in the eye, the glass shield in front of her whooshed up.

Tears filled Luo Xingyu’s eyes; she raised her hand, and the mecha placed its arm by Gao Yuan’s side.

"Reporting as ordered to you by the Shenzhou Expeditionary Army Spark Squad Group Two. Please provide your instructions."

After that, Luo Xingyu cried out with tears, "Bro, are you alright? Just tell me who to hit!"

Luo Xingyu asked a good question, and Gao Yuan glanced back before replying in a grave voice, "Tanks, planes..."

"Everyone?"

"No, kneel to spare your life."

"Yes."

The transparent shield in front of Luo Xingyu whooshed down, and then a layer of black metal helmet fell, encasing the entire transparent shield within the metal helmet.

Luo Xingyu stood up, and a tube about two meters long and ten centimeters thick rose from her back, passed over her shoulder, and rested on it.

As the tube glittered with light, there was a dull thump, and suddenly a helicopter in the sky started to fall, and then it exploded violently after hitting the ground.

Luo Xingyu raised her left arm, which had a pipe similar to the one on the shoulder but thinner and much shorter. The back of the pipe featured a sealed, movable duct resembling the ammo belt on a Gatling gun.

The pipe on her left arm started flashing, and as the light began to flicker, Luo Xingyu’s left arm emitted a continuous loud noise, as if there was no interruption at all.

It was like the sound of tearing fabric, persistent and loud.

There was no smoke, no shell casings, but from in front of Luo Xingyu’s arm, the constant roar continued, and where Luo Xingyu’s arm pointed, there was the sparkle of bullets striking, dust, and the roar.

Luo Xingyu began to run forward, her shoulder pipe flickered again, and then another helicopter suddenly fell, akin to a fly being cleanly hit in midair by a flyswatter, without any superfluous movements.

"Is this... an electromagnetic cannon?"

Gao Yuan looked towards Xinghe beside him; Xinghe nodded and said with a smile, "Yes, an electromagnetic cannon."

Just as Luo Xingyu started counterattacking the Sanitation Worker’s forces, another mecha crawled out from the bridge. When it saw the situation outside, the metal shield on the transparent visor dropped instantly, and then the mecha leapt directly into the air from the bridge.

Before landing, the electromagnetic cannon similar to the one behind Luo Xingyu was already resting on his shoulder. Once on the ground, a crisp sound immediately erupted from the shoulder of the second mecha.

Another helicopter in the air touched down in response.

At this point, the helicopter finally opened fire, and so did the tanks.

Larry understood what was happening. He no longer expected to get the Ark of the Covenant or the Revelation, but instead, he immediately counterattacked.

A surface-to-air missile was launched from the attack helicopter, heading straight for Gao Yuan’s position. Then, a dozen more missiles were fired in succession.

Has the battle ended? No.

Luo Xingyu and her comrades came with revolutionary mechas, but the Sanitation Worker wouldn’t lose its ability to resist that easily. The second mecha lifted its left arm, and then, the electromagnetic cannon on its left arm fired.

Between Gao Yuan and the helicopters and tanks, Luo Xingyu made the same move.

Invisible bullets intercepted the surface-to-air missiles mid-air, shattering them one by one from the air as both mechas fired with their left-arm-mounted short-barreled electromagnetic guns, or perhaps electromagnetic rifles.

The third mecha revealed its bridge, and like the first, it leapt directly from the bridge. But just as the mecha had touched down, the bullets from the helicopter’s machine guns enveloped it in a barrage of fire.

The mecha stood in front of Gao Yuan, just three meters ahead of him.

The two mechas could intercept all the missiles, just like a dense phalanx defense against anti-ship missiles, but they couldn’t block the enemy’s barrage of bullets.

With a loud bang, a small crater appeared on the concrete ground in front of Gao Yuan, followed by the echo of the grenade that created it bouncing back up, striking the underbelly of the helicopter.

The mecha that had just landed in front of Gao Yuan had its electromagnetic cannon extended when it suddenly lost its glow. Then the mecha stood still, motionless.

Blood started to flow from a small hole in the back of the mecha. It was a small amount, but soon, much blood poured from the soles of the mecha’s feet.

Luo Xingyu and the pilot of an unknown mecha blasted the firing helicopter out of the sky.

The battle hadn’t ended; they simply skipped the process of testing each other out and went straight into an intense fight.

The fourth mecha appeared on the bridge, but Gao Yuan quickly realized that it wasn’t a mecha. Precisely, it was a person wearing an exoskeleton power system.

Not leaping directly from the nuclear submarine like their mechas, they simply cleared the passageway, followed by one shadow after another leaping from the bridge passageway, landing on the submarine’s outer deck, and then starting to spark with fire.

These shadows looked like dogs, landing on all fours, but each had a missile launcher on both sides of their backs.

Anti-aircraft missiles were launched rapidly, and as soon as four dog-like figures appeared on the deck, eight portable anti-aircraft missiles were fired. Then, more shadows rapidly emerged from within the submarine, but this time, as Jia Weidong leapt onto the ground, the other shadows descended alongside him.

Was that actually Jia Weidong?

Jia Weidong glanced at Gao Yuan. He didn’t say a word, but swung his electromagnetic rifle and then quickly ran towards the enemy tanks, with two dogs, no, two dog-like robots flanking him on either side.

On the back of the robots were missile launch tubes, anti-tank missile tubes.

No more mechas appeared from the bridge, but something on the submarine’s back resembling a tank turret suddenly had its external waterproof cover open, dislodge, and then a long electromagnetic cannon was revealed, quickly elevating at the top, making a slight turn, then a blaze of blue light.

As the blue light shone, a streak of light appeared in the sky, followed by a powerful shockwave that blew all the standing people to the ground, and then, the deafening sound of the explosion covered all noises.
