Chapter 626: Chapter 619 Ended

Gao Yuan had a sense that there was too much to take in, he felt that all the sacrifices had meant something, that all the effort had been rewarded.

Seeing technology that didn’t belong to this era, that didn’t belong to this planet, Gao Yuan really wanted to cry.

Gao Yuan looked towards the Xinghe, feeling grateful for these advancements.

But it wasn’t just the Xinghe to thank, there were also the soldiers protecting Stonegate Shelter, and the gratitude was owed to those who had perished but survived within the two shelters of Stonegate.

Gratitude was due to Wang Hu, and his subordinates too.

Thanks went to the scientists and workers of the Supreme Command.

There were too many to thank, including Gao Yuan himself, for without him, none of this might have been realized.

But the self-sacrifice of so many had finally led to a great leap in human technology.

Today, everything finally had its reward.

The turret on the nuclear submarine had fired only once, but the helicopters in the sky had been completely obliterated; however, the turret couldn’t shoot at the tanks as there was no line of fire.

What a pity that nuclear submarines can’t go ashore.

But something incredible happened, the turret on the submarine slowly extended mechanical legs to each side, and then, the thing that looked like a tank turret and fired like one began to move.

It couldn’t jump like a mecha because the turret was very large, at least larger than a tank, but the turret extended mechanical arms and leant on a nearby Sanitation Worker’s submarine, and then the turret began to move slowly and awkwardly until it reached the Sanitation Worker’s submarine.

The enemy tanks started retreating, as arrogantly as they had come, they were now fleeing in total disarray.

The electromagnetic cannon on Luo Xingyu’s shoulder began to lower, adjusted slightly, and then with a dazzling flash and an earth-shattering roar, a tank that was retreating at full speed suddenly stopped, and then, the halted tank exploded violently.

By that time, the mechanical dogs had already reached the vicinity of the tanks, and then fire began to blaze on the bodies of the mechanical dogs, followed by a succession of tanks exploding and catching fire.

Ever since the mecha appeared, Murphy had been unable to make a sound; he slumped to the ground, his pistol falling beside him, as he stared foolishly at the mecha in combat.

But now, Murphy suddenly roared, "Catch Larry! We must catch Larry! Capturing him will end the battle; go get him!"

Just then, Xinghe suddenly said, "My mecha..."

Two eyes were not enough, Gao Yuan turned around in astonishment, he looked at Xinghe, and then followed Xinghe’s gaze towards the submarine.

Another mecha appeared on the bridge of the submarine, but this mecha looked so familiar.

Xinghe’s mecha, her very own mecha.

Without moving an inch, Xinghe’s mecha launched directly from the bridge and landed precisely in front of Xinghe.

The humanoid mecha opened up, empty on the inside. Xinghe turned around, smiled at Gao Yuan, took a step back, and entered into her own mecha.

With a puzzled look on his face, Gao Yuan asked, "Wasn’t your mecha out of power?"

Xinghe smiled again, and then her mecha began to close, enveloping Xinghe within it.

The halo behind the mecha’s head lit up, and Murphy seemed unable to hold up his own weight any longer. Facing Xinghe, he prostrated on the ground, and then he cried out in agony, "God, walking among us, save... save us..."

Xinghe made a movement, or rather her mecha did, but Xinghe’s mecha was clearly more agile, without any of the mechanical stiffness, as if Xinghe herself was the one moving.

"This feels so good."

Xinghe pointed at the slow-moving turret, her voice emanating from the mecha’s body.

"That is the source of my motivation, congratulations to you, congratulations to mankind, you have obtained the pass to enter the new era of civilization."

After speaking, Xinghe suddenly disappeared.

Xinghe didn’t disappear, she just moved so fast that Gao Yuan couldn’t catch her with his eyes.

Xinghe ran along the ground, her mecha was bright white, radiating a bright white light, so when Gao Yuan turned his head sharply, all he saw was a streak of light surging towards the retreating tanks.

Murphy looked at Gao Yuan, his eyes brimming with tears as he said, "What have we done? What have we all done! We are the followers of the Celestials, yet we have made ourselves the enemies of the Celestials."

Murphy was convinced that Xinghe was indeed a Celestial, but Xinghe was just an ordinary person, at most an ordinary Alien, until now, when Xinghe showed her full form, shocking Murphy to the core.

The Celestials never get involved in other civilizations’ wars, and Celestial explorers never intervene in a planet’s civilization progress.

But now, Xinghe gave Earth the technology, allowing humankind to leap thousands of years in a single step, and then, she joined the battle.

Gao Yuan knew why Xinghe could sense the reinforcements were coming because she could feel her own mecha, a civilization that can control most instruments with their minds, would be a joke if they couldn’t sense and control their most personal belongings.

Xinghe arrived atop a tank, placed her hand on the tank’s turret, and then, the armor on top of the tank began to melt.

Xinghe’s hand moved slowly, then she lifted the hatch on top of the tank, and following that, she yelled down into the interior of the tank, "Larry, come out."

A man inside the tank looked at Xinghe with horror, his voice trembling as he said, "No, no, it’s not supposed to be this way..."

Xinghe commanded again, "I order you to come out!"

Larry still didn’t move, but the tank driver was desperately stomping on the brakes.

Dazed, Larry stood up. Xinghe’s mecha couldn’t fit through the narrow tank hatch, but Xinghe reached in and grabbed Larry’s clothes, yanking him out in one swift motion.

Xinghe had Larry in her grasp, but she didn’t stop there. She held Larry high with one hand, and then her mecha began to emit an incredibly loud sound.

"In the name of the Celestial, in the name of the god that walks upon the Earth, all my followers lay down your weapons, and whoever raises their weapons against me, shall die."

Xinghe’s proclamation spread like a wave, with echoes drifting over the city of Djibouti.

Gao Yuan, transfixed, watched Xinghe, then he saw Ram walking slowly towards him.

Ram collapsed next to Gao Yuan, pulled out a cigarette, and said, "Want one?"

Gao Yuan shook his head, and Ram put the cigarette in his mouth, then he took a breath and said, "It’s over."

"Yeah, it’s over."

Ram felt his pockets for a lighter and finding none, he took the cigarette out of his mouth and said, "It’s all over. The fight is nearly over, and our battle... it’s time for our battle to end, too."

After a moment’s thought, Gao Yuan replied softly, "No, not so fast, right?"

Ram gave a wistful smile, then, pointing at Xinghe’s mecha with the hand holding his cigarette, he said, "Your girlfriend?"

"Yeah, kind of."

"And that one?"

Gao Yuan looked over at Luo Xingyu’s mecha and said, "That one definitely is."

Ram chuckled and said, "Seeing your girlfriend, I knew it was over. Maybe the war isn’t over, but our fight is over. I mean Satan, and me... we’re already obsolete."
