The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 57: Diana Curtis’s Thoughts
After dinner, Holly Sawyer let out a big yawn, looking at Leo Grant and saying, "Brother, I’m sleepy."
She gently rubbed her eyes, appearing to be on the brink of falling asleep. She seemed utterly tired.
"Go to sleep then."
Leo Grant ruffled Holly Sawyer’s hair with a gentle voice.
The little girl indeed seemed very sleepy.
Holly Sawyer obediently went upstairs, while Leo Grant returned to the study to continue handling his business.
Originally, there was nothing left to do; this matter is temporary.
Once Holly Sawyer returned to her bedroom, the weariness quickly vanished, and she seemed full of energy.
Hmm, she felt like the Oscars should give her a little statuette; her acting skills were genuinely impressive, nailing everything she played.
Holly Sawyer directly flipped out of the window, landing silently.
Diana Curtis contacted her, arranging to meet at the dessert shop to discuss something. If she told Leo Grant about it at night, he would surely opt to accompany her, so she chose to sneak out instead.
Late at night, the dessert shop wasn’t crowded, with only a few people around, including couples. It’s a perfectly suitable place for dating.
The shop’s lights glowed with a slight orange hue, a warm tone, and as Holly Sawyer pushed open the door, a crisp bell sound accompanied her.
"Boss."
Bella Coleman was sitting at the cashier, writing something. She raised her eyes upon hearing the bell and smiled instantly upon seeing Holly Sawyer.
Holly Sawyer: "Mm."
"Diana is waiting for you upstairs."
Bella Coleman quickly emerged from behind the cashier, and she and Holly Sawyer headed up to the second floor together.
The second floor of the dessert shop was typically closed when there weren’t many people. Tonight, with few patrons, only Diana Curtis was upstairs.
"Becky, your skills are getting better, huh? Tastes way better than before."
Diana Curtis commented without turning her head, thoroughly enjoying her dessert.
"So you’re saying what I made before wasn’t good?"
Bella Coleman quickly walked over and reached out to tug Diana Curtis’s ear, looking quite annoyed.
Damn, unbelievable, giving her free food is generous enough, and now she’s complaining about how it used to be. It’s really not making her happy.
Feeling upset, she felt like tugging Diana Curtis’s ear.
"Ouch, ouch... Becky, lighten up, will you? You’re a girl, can’t you be a bit gentler?"
Diana Curtis pried Bella Coleman’s hand away, covering her ear as she spoke.
Damn, really, Bella Coleman didn’t hold back, tugging her ear so painfully, it’s just unbelievable.
"It’s you who’s unpleasant."
Bella Coleman said with a raised eyebrow, hands akimbo.
She was that type of person who was gentle and elegant in front of strangers, but a fiery woman behind closed doors. To strangers, she was tender, but only those close to her knew she was practically a vigorous woman.
"In front of the boss, could you spare me a little dignity?"
Diana Curtis took a deep breath, looking at Holly Sawyer and said.
Though... though, she’s often bullied by Bella Coleman, but she’s got a decent image before Holly Sawyer, not weak enough to be bullied. Now, that’s all gone.
"Nope."
Bella Coleman refused outright, her face filled with rejection.
"Boss, quick, quick, sit, sit."
Suddenly realizing it, Bella Coleman quickly pulled out a chair with an exceedingly servile smile directed at Holly Sawyer. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Whimpering internally, she almost ignored her own boss.
Holly Sawyer sat down without saying a word, simply observing quietly.
"Boss, what’s with the expression?"
Diana Curtis blinked, and seeing Holly Sawyer being so silent, she panicked instantly.
It was really frightening, a quiet Holly Sawyer was the most terrifying, no contest.
"Continue."
Holly Sawyer raised her crossed leg, grabbing the orange juice from the table and taking a big sip, her tone flat.
Watching was quite entertaining too.
Diana Curtis: "..."
Bella Coleman: "..."
They dared not continue, trembling internally.
"Boss, here’s some white peach oolong flavored drink, a white peach oolong flavored cake, and white peach oolong flavored..."
Bella Coleman quickly assembled a bunch of white peach oolong flavored desserts, placing them before Holly Sawyer with an ingratiating smile.
All flavors that Holly Sawyer liked, seeing them would definitely make her happy.
"Did you invite me out to eat?"
Holly Sawyer wasn’t moved by the desserts in front of her; she crossed her arms and looked at Diana Curtis with a slight smile.
Diana Curtis initiated the invitation, but Bella Coleman was involved too, unsure what these two were up to.
"No, no."
"No, no."
Diana Curtis and Bella Coleman spoke in unison, both shaking their heads and waving their hands in refusal.
Geez, if it was just about eating, they could’ve brought something to Holly Sawyer directly; why trouble Holly to make an extra trip?
"Speak."
Holly Sawyer’s expression remained calm.
She worried if Leo Grant went to her room and found her absent, what would he think?
Internally, Holly Sawyer worried about this, eager to return quickly, so even her favorite food on the table didn’t seem appetizing.
"Boss, it’s just..."
Diana Curtis bowed her head, stammering, biting her lip with a conflicted expression.
Holly Sawyer stared at Diana Curtis, silent.
"It’s not a big deal."
Bella Coleman nudged Diana Curtis, blinking as she spoke.
"I want to transfer to Arkenfall."
After a while, Diana Curtis finally voiced her thoughts, looking at Holly Sawyer with pleading eyes.
The Pantheon has people all over, spanning numerous cities, and Holly Sawyer assigns tasks to each, generally within cities they live in.
The Pantheon’s headquarters is in Arkenfall, but Diana Curtis’s tasks are in Bexley because her family resides there.
"Reason?"
Holly Sawyer’s expression was indifferent, given that Diana Curtis was currently a sophomore; it would seem logical to move to another city after completing her studies.
Now it seemed too early.
"I want to drop out, head to Arkenfall."
Diana Curtis’s eyes brimmed with determination as she clenched her fists, embodying resolve.
Holly Sawyer gazed at Diana Curtis, gently furrowing her brow and remaining silent.
"Boss, I think Diana’s decision is rather unwise..."
Bella Coleman, standing beside Diana Curtis, whispered softly, winking at Holly Sawyer.
Despite having a good relationship with Diana, she couldn’t persuade her, which was indeed challenging.
"Tell me the reason, I’m listening."
Holly Sawyer glanced at Bella Coleman, realizing there had to be something more, before turning her attention back to Diana Curtis, her voice calm and composed.
Diana Curtis wasn’t typically impulsive, so it was unclear what had caused this. Academics were significant, and Holly Sawyer didn’t believe Diana Curtis would easily forgo her studies.
