The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 135: Noah Raines’s Attentiveness
"He’ll come looking for me."
Holly Sawyer peeled a candy-coated chestnut and handed it to Nancy Miller, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
There were insiders planted by her within the Miller Group, causing problems in various projects, and she siphoned off the funds little by little.
Although Miles Miller didn’t know that she was behind all this, he was aware of her relationship with Leo Grant; not seeking her out would be unusual.
Nancy Miller was a bit confused as she looked at Holly Sawyer.
"I told you, the Miller Group is yours."
Holly Sawyer looked at Nancy Miller, her tone particularly earnest.
What she said was certainly high-confident and something she could achieve.
"Sister..."
"If I want to give it to you, then it’s yours."
Nancy Miller wanted to refuse, but Holly Sawyer immediately interrupted her.
The precursor to the Miller Group was the Sawyer Group, left by her grandfather to her mother. She had to get it back, although she had no interest in such things.
Leaving it to Nancy Miller was the best choice.
"You don’t need to manage it, there’s someone to take care of it; you just need to show your face occasionally."
Holly Sawyer saw through Nancy Miller’s internal worries. Nancy’s aspirations were in dance.
She was currently teaching children dance at a dance agency, four classes a week, which wasn’t many, and she had plenty of free time.
The agency was introduced by Holly Sawyer, and it was especially reliable.
"Well... alright then."
Nancy Miller agreed.
Leo Grant, Noah Raines, and Nathaniel Shaw came down from upstairs, Noah greeted Nancy Miller politely.
Nathaniel: "..."
He didn’t know Noah Raines had such a warm side.
Nancy Miller nodded to Noah Raines.
"Are you hungry?"
Leo Grant walked over to Holly Sawyer, gently ruffling her hair, a smile tugging at his lips.
It was nearing noon, and lunchtime was not far off.
"Hmm, a bit."
Holly Sawyer lightly blinked, rubbing her stomach.
She was indeed starting to feel a bit hungry.
"Sis, want to go eat grilled fish?"
Noah Raines placed his hand on Nathaniel Shaw’s shoulder, staring directly at Holly Sawyer, his eyes filled with anticipation.
He really wanted to eat grilled fish, but he knew deep down that the decision on what to eat was in Holly’s hands.
"Haven’t had grilled fish in a long time."
Nathaniel Shaw echoed from the side.
Eating grilled fish with beer was actually a great combination.
"Sounds good."
Holly Sawyer nodded; the matter of what to eat wasn’t a big deal for her, without strong opinions.
Honestly, she had no dietary restrictions, so anything that tasted good would do.
"Then let’s go to that grilled fish restaurant downtown; their taste is really authentic, and it’s superb."
Noah Raines licked his lips and said, people always love reminiscing about delicious food, and Noah Raines was no different.
"I’ll head back first."
Nancy Miller gently bit her lip as she spoke.
They were going for grilled fish; she figured it was best not to join and disturb them.
"Join us."
Holly Sawyer took hold of Nancy Miller’s hand.
Nancy hesitated a little; she thought she needed to maintain her figure, so mostly avoided such foods, opting more for diet-friendly items.
"It’s alright, one meal won’t make you fat."
Noah Raines sensed Nancy Miller’s thoughts and calmly spoke.
Nancy was truly skinny, so thin that he thought she might get knocked over by a mere breeze. A little weight gain wouldn’t hurt; there was no need to be so aggressive in losing weight.
Holly Sawyer: "Exactly, one meal won’t hurt."
"Okay."
Nancy Miller hesitated for a moment, then nodded in agreement.
"Hey, seen each other so many times, let’s exchange WeChat."
Noah Raines edged closer to Nancy, presenting his phone to her while speaking slowly.
From the first time he met Nancy, he had seen her dozens of times.
The girl was really hardworking, he had witnessed Nancy’s dedicated dance practice, working hard and progressing.
Nancy Miller hesitated a bit but eventually took out her phone to scan Noah’s code.
Holly Sawyer watched Noah Raines with interest, the smile on her lips growing larger.
Nathaniel Shaw crossed his arms, clicked his tongue twice, and looked at Noah Raines with amusement.
Hmm, the guy really did make the first move.
Leo Grant pulled Holly Sawyer into his embrace, contemplating as he watched Noah Raines.
The five of them headed to the grilled fish restaurant, and Holly Sawyer asked Noah Raines on their way there, "Are you trying to woo my sister?"
Holly whispered her question.
Perhaps the observer sees clearly while those involved are confused. She couldn’t sort out her own feelings, but could see others clearly.
It was obvious Noah Raines showed interest in Nancy Miller.
Noah Raines: "..."
He felt like Holly Sawyer was scolding him, it just felt strange.
"Oh, if not, then never mind."
Holly cast a sidelong glance at Noah Raines, speaking nonchalantly.
"Sis, would you help me?"
Noah Raines immediately looked at Holly Sawyer sycophantically.
He really had a bit of interest in Nancy Miller, a slight flutter from the first glance.
"No."
Holly directly refused. She might help with other things, but in matters of feelings, she declined.
For one, Nancy’s attitude towards relationships was resistant; she had already firmed her stance on no marriage or kids.
For another, Nancy might not even be interested in Noah.
Though she might probe Nancy’s thoughts, she wouldn’t arrange a match between Noah and Nancy.
Noah Raines: "..."
So resolute.
Entering the restaurant, Holly ordered dishes, filling the table completely.
Leo, Noah, Nathaniel, and Nancy were used to Holly’s appetite, so it was nothing new for them.
"I’ll pick out the fish bones for you."
Noah Raines requested an empty bowl and clean chopsticks, looking particularly attentive to Nancy Miller.
Nancy was slightly stunned, puzzled about Noah’s actions.
Noah diligently picked out bones from a piece of fish, placing the meat into Nancy’s bowl.
Nancy stared at the boneless fish in her bowl, dazed for a moment, "I can do it myself."
She wasn’t exactly very familiar with Noah, so it seemed a bit odd.
Nathaniel Shaw held back his laughter, pretending not to see anything, observing Noah with a look that said, "My boy, growing up."
Leo and Holly were stuck to each other, Leo picking fish bones for Holly, while she kept eating; they seemed harmonious, isolated from the world.
"Girls need to be cared for," Noah continued picking out fish bones for Nancy, speaking gently.
Nancy felt a bit uneasy, biting her lip lightly. Seeing that Holly and the others weren’t looking her way, she pushed her thoughts aside.
