"We need to kill it fast before it ranks up... but it has already become stronger than a peak Rank Five monster. This will be much harder."

Malphas said, now standing tall. Most of his wounds were healed.

"But is that possible—" Amon tried to ask.

ROAAAAARRRRR!!!

The monster roared loudly. Huge shockwaves burst from its body. Amon crossed both his hands to cover his face.

Everyone tried to move into safer positions.

Just then, all the remaining monsters stopped fighting. They gazed at the huge monster with fear and admiration.

Soon the monster began glowing in a bright gray light. It's body shown bright. As if it was going through some transformation.

BOOM!

A loud booming sound resounded everywhere.

The monster slowly grew. Its height became nearly forty meters tall now.

Its skin became a darker shade of gray and looked like rotten flesh stitched together. The cuts and wounds that were on its body slowly closed.

Its arms elongated, its claws becoming longer and sharper than before. The bone spikes on its spine grew bigger. Glowing faint gray color.

Its eyes were now larger and glowing in a sick yellow color. It looked like a nightmare made into flesh. The monster actually evolved.

The transformation was complete.

And just then, everyone present there felt an oppressive pressure fall upon them. It felt heavy, suffocating, terrifying.

Some people stepped back unconsciously. Some tightened their grips on their weapons. Some were trembling.

"Th-that thing..."

"It's... evolved..."

"We can't fight that..."

Fear spread among them.

But no one ran away.

They were afraid. Very afraid. But they still stood there, holding their weapons.

The huge abomination remained standing. Its eyes shone with slight intelligence.

The change was seen by everyone.

The monsters gathered around the abomination like an army, as if waiting for its order to attack them. Some monster came from other sides. Montser near tower also moved towards it.

They were standing at a distance of a hundred meters from the group.

Amon gripped his sword tightly. The hatchet flew back into his left hand.

"Everyone! Get ready for battle! Handle those weaklings and try to stay away from that abomination!" Malphas ordered.

"Yes!!!"

They didn't know how Malphas could win against that monster.

But all they could do was hope.

Just then the monster roared.

ROOOOAAAARRRR!!

The monsters who were gathered around it dashed in the direction of everyone at the same time. Their number was larger this time since monsters from other areas had also gathered here. The numbers were nearly doubled compared to before.

"Attack!"

"Yes!"

Arrows shot from behind along with multiple spells toward the flying monsters.

"Ethan... be safe," Amon said to Ethan, who was standing beside him, holding a spear in his hand.

His hands were shaking. Not from exhaustion, but from fear.

"Don't worry... we will get out together... no matter what." Amon's serious eyes stared at Ethan.

Ethan's grip on his spear tightened. "Okay... we will... win."

Amon smiled widely. No matter how hard it might became. They have to give their all.

From the side, Malphas watched them.

He observed everyone. All of them were afraid, yet they were not backing down. That was amusing even to him. Half of them had never fought before, and a few were fighting after a long time. Yet they were not stepping back.

So, he couldn't give up. He was strongest. He was their leader. And thus he had to fight.

His body once again crackled with blue lightning. He bent lightly and dashed forward toward the strongest monster there.

He flashed like a lightning spear.

The monster was looking at him and the others as if they were ants. It was more relaxed than before.

Its hand moved. The huge right fist shot toward the incoming Malphas.

They both collided against each other.

BOOM!

Meanwhile, on the ground, Amon kicked off the ground and dashed toward the swarm of monsters.

His neck length black hair swayed with air. Black eyes looked at monsters with coldness.

Those monsters, they looked like a tide of black water.

Amon's shadow separated from his feet, moving toward the incoming monsters.

Amon raised his sword upward.

"I will go all out!" He used his ability to its limit.

Multiple black sharp spikes rose from the ground beneath those monsters.

In one go, they tore through multiple monsters, piercing into their flesh.

His hatchet was thrown. It was also covered with shadow as it spun, cutting and crushing the heads of one monster after another.

Everything turned into pure chaos.

Some distance away from Amon.

"Arrrghhh!" A human scream echoed in the broken forest.

"Michel! No!"

Michel, who was a man in his late twenties, had his chest pierced by one of the spider-type monsters.

His friend reached him. The sword in his hand pierced the head of the spider monster.

"Michel, are you okay? Michel? Michel?"

Michel stopped breathing.

After a long battle, someone died for the first time.

But it was not going to be the last death.

The monster who was fighting Malphas opened its mouth. A dull yellow light glowed inside its mouth. The air around it trembled as mana gathered in its mouth.

Malphas looked at the scene and muttered, "Not good!"

He jumped back in another direction. He moved at lightning speed behind the monster.

The abomination still shot the beam forward.

Malphas hadn't noticed it before, but after getting behind the monster, he saw it.

In the direction where the beam was shot, two figures were on the ground.

They were none other than Michel's dead body and his friend holding him.

"Michel!.. Michel." Tears streamed down the man's eyes. He felt something bright and hot approaching him.

He turned to look to the left side, only to see a huge yellow light coming toward him.

The beam swallowed both of them, scorching the ground and monsters, everything that came in its path.

Other group members saw it from a distance in fear and shock.

The fight was becoming more chaotic. More hard. And more cruel.
