Chapter 318: White Shadow

Three days passed and Elsa together with Lexi and the others were back in Blackhart Castle. Their stay in Haraldsen Mansion was not fruitful since they did not find any useful information about the demons or the Kurzen Kingdom.

The Elite Alphas of Chris and their packs also tried to question everyone in Arcanis for any information that could help them win their battle against the demon king, but nothing helped.

"My Queen, King Christopher has arrived," one of the servants told Elsa who was in the library.

Elsa briskly ran to the main entrance of the castle to welcome her husband hoping that he had good news.

However, Chris and Drake’s faces said it all. No questions were needed to be asked to know what was the result of their meeting with the council.

Elsa’s shoulder dropped and her heart sank after she made eye contact with Chris and heard from their bond, ’Vrenada’s council doesn’t want to join us but there’s more to it. Join us in the Assembly Hall.’

Elsa nodded and headed towards the Assembly Hall followed by Lexi, Arla, and Rylie. Arcanis’ council was already there waiting for their king together with the elite alphas except for one.

"Where is Hoven?" Elsa asked Aeson who was the nearest in her seat.

"He went to the port to pick up King Andrius Van der Aart early this morning. They will be here anytime soon," Aeson replied.

Elsa smiled a bit after hearing the new title of her uncle. She had forgotten about his coronation and the wedding of her grandparents because of Rocco, Milda, and her father.

All she ever did after that meeting with King Mordrak was to read every book that she could find about demons. She only takes breaks to eat, go to the bath chamber, and sleep. But all her efforts did not bear any fruit.

It took a while for Chris to arrive in the Assembly Hall and when he did, Andrius was already with him.

"Andrius!" Elsa called out and welcomed him with her warm embrace. "Congratulations! I am happy for you. Now you only need a Queen to complete your life," Elsa teased.

"I will surely make that my priority after we rescue our family members from the demons," Andrius answered.

"How’s Grandpa and Grandma?" Elsa asked.

"They are now married, a little bit sad that only Hera was there but relieved that it’s all over. They can’t have their honeymoon until I get back, so we must finish this war as soon as possible."

"Everybody take your seat. I have both good and bad news to announce," Chris said.

The hall stayed silent while waiting for Chris’ announcement. He took several deep sighs before he started.

"I’ll begin with the bad news: Vrenada’s council has refused to assist us. We all know that Vampires and Werewolves were once enemies. Despite the two races forging a friendship over the past three centuries, some still struggle to embrace this change.

Many of them are over a hundred years old and have yet to let go of the past. Plus, I also understand their concern that their population is not that high until ours. As much as possible they are avoiding losing more of their kind since they are having problems in increasing their inhabitants.

However, it’s not all negative. I also have some good news from Vrenada, which I think is not bad at all."

Everyone held their breath as they waited for their King to continue.

*BANG*

The door of the Assembly Hall slammed open, getting everyone’s attention.

"Are you trying to destroy the door just to have your grand entrance?" Hoven sarcastically exclaimed while rolling his eyes to Elandir.

"Grand entrance, yes, but no to destroying the door. I am just overly excited to give you the good news!" Elandir replied before going to Chris’ side.

"Our King is announcing something, you should wait for him to finish before taking the center stage," Hoven said.

"Oh! Did I interrupt something?" Elandir replied sardonically to Hoven.

"That’s the purpose of the Assembly Hall, du–"

"Enough you two!" Chris ordered before adding, "Have a seat Eladir."

He waited for Elandir to take his seat before continuing, "As I was saying, I also have good news. Even though Vrenada’s council did not approve of sending us their army, they did allow us to enter Kurzen through their land. They could also give us some resources that we will need; all we have to do is give them the list."

"But Your Majesty, even if we get help from Vrenada and Zemaria, how are we going to defeat the demon king? We all know that his only weakness is the holy magic. We only have our Queen for that since her grandmother will surely not fight because of her age. But then, Queen Elsa has no offensive divine spells–" Hoven pointed out but was cut off by Elandir.

"Aha! That’s what I am here for. Princess Hera had found a solution!" Everyone’s attention was on Elandir, eagerly waiting for his explanation.

"Please, go on," Chris urged and gestured for Elandir to stand in front as he took a seat, letting the elf take the spotlight.

"Remember the sleeping divine mages that Queen Yvonne was looking for? Hera found them..." Elandir proudly announced with a devilish smirk.

Murmurs erupted in the hall. The elders could not believe that the rumors were true and it was not just a myth.

"Well... The princess has not found it physically, but she was able to learn their location because she was able to unveil one of the blank pages from Archmage Nadezhda’s book using Queen Elsa’s blood."

"Then let’s go there right away!" Hoven exclaimed and everyone cheered.

The tides had turned. Not long ago, everyone felt hopeless, but now they were energized and excited to head to the location of the sleeping mages and awaken them, ready to finally defeat the demon king once and for all.

"There’s a catch though..." Elandir uttered, silencing everyone.

"They are in the cave in the White Shadow Mountain. The cave is somewhere in the Mountain Ash Forest..."
