Chapter 317: Injured Bird

Milda looked at Elsa with pleading teary eyes and exclaimed, "Run! Go now Elsa, don’t worry about us, save Rocco!"

"Damnit!" the demon king shouted, startling Elsa. He punched Milda in the stomach just like what he did to Nathan causing her to drop on the ground in pain. "Do you have a death wish?" he added.

The demon king was not satisfied yet and he also hit Nathan causing him to vomit blood, shocking Elsa.

Elsa was tormented. She reminded herself to stay calm and think clearly. She needs to back out for now or else all of them will die right then and there. Chris was right, her elements are useless against the demon king. The only way she could defeat him if is she will learn some offensive divine spells. Running away with Rocco right now is not an option for they could get killed even before she could fly.

"I-I will go, please stop. I will go if you promise to not hurt them anymore, and promise that you will not hurt my son or I swear to God that I will be the one to slash your head from your neck!" It was the hardest decision that she ever made in her life. It is even harder than dying for her son but what can she do? Running away will not save her son from this situation, it is a death sentence.

"Milda, take the boy without being suicidal," King Mordrak commanded.

Milda walked towards Elsa and extended her arms, ready to take Rocco. "Elsa, I promise to take care of Rocco. I assure you that the demon king is treating your son very well. I will protect him with my life."

She kissed her son multiple times and hugged him one last time, before bidding farewell, "Mommy will be back I promise, my love. I will get you back."

She handed him to Milda and turned to the demon king. "Can I at least hug my father?" she boldly asked while trying not to keep her hopes up.

"I am not that cruel, Elsa. I am kind to those who don’t oppose me. You can even heal him if you’d like. He is powerless anyway," King Mordrak answered.

"Elsa quickly ran to her father and healed him first. She doesn’t want to cry in front of him but her hears has a mind of their own. They flowed uncontrollably as she reminisced the times that they were happy together in Novus.

The days that she always questioned his kindness to her who is not his real daughter. But even though she didn’t know back then, she always felt connected to him like a real father and daughter and it was really because they are family.

"Why are you not fighting back?" she whispered while sobbing.

Nathan smiled at her and touched her cheek before kissing her forehead. "I am a fallen angel and I am powerless because that’s my punishment. It will take years before I gain enough power to use in just one go. I used it to save you in Novus, and I am happy I did."

"I thought you died," she said tersely for she was having a hard time talking because of too much crying.

"But I did not. Don’t waste my sacrifice, and live your life. Leave me here and take your son," he whispered back.

"I-I can’t... I can’t let you die again. I won’t let you..."

"That’s enough... Go now or I might change my mind and take you back to my kingdom against your will," King Mordrak said.

Elsa quickly hugs her father before glancing one last time at Rocco and Milda. She outstretched her wings before glaring at the demon king.

"Do not hurt them, or you’ll regret it. Give me a week to think about it. I will contact you after my coronation, so don’t you dare lay a finger on them," Elsa warned.

King Mordrak smirked and called one of his men. He was then given an injured crow and he gave it to Elsa who was utterly confused about what is it for.

"Take this, the werewolf you are with is looking for you. Was I not clear when I said you should go alone?"

"It can’t be helped, it was the only way I could go here without being suspicious. Don’t worry I have a good alibi," Elsa explained.

"Add this injured bird to your alibi. It is cursed so it won’t be able to fly until our agreed date. It will be my messenger on that day, so take care of it until then. Now go before that werewolf discover our location."

Elsa nodded and flew away without looking at her family anymore for it would just weaken her resolve to go. Her heart was breaking as she flew away. It was as if someone was gripping it hard.

But she has no choice but to leave for now with a promise of saving all three of them when she returns.

"There you are! Where the hell did you go? I thought you had been abducted. I looked everywhere but couldn’t find you!" Tallor yelled, forgetting his rank.

"I told you not to look for me. But I am sorry for making you worried. I saw this injured bird and I tried to heal it but I guess it needs time to heal," Elsa lied.

"You took all of that time just to save an injured bird?"

"Yes, it looks sad and for sure it misses its family. So I’ll take care of it until its wings are healed so it can go back to its family and be happy again," Elsa uttered in a very somber voice taking Tallor aback.

"A-Alright... But let’s go now, they must be worried and waiting for us. We should have arrived at the mansion an hour ago."

Elsa pursed her lips and nodded before turning around so Tallow could undress and shift to his wolf form. He stood beside Elsa after transforming, prompting Elsa to ride on his back.

After climbing onto Tallor’s back, Elsa glanced back at where Rocco was and thought, "Hang in there, baby. Mommy will come back and save you for good."
