The Royal Mark-Chapter 294: Famous Merchant
Elsa and Chris together with Neia and Stefan, arrived at the East Port of Zemaria before noon even though the ship would leave in the afternoon. Chris suggested at breakfast that they leave early so they could try the food being sold near the port for their lunch.
The two women agreed right away since they both hadn’t had the chance to visit the stores in the said port.
Chris gently grabbed Elsa’s hand and brought it to his lips for a kiss, grabbing her attention. "You look happy, my queen. Your eyes had not once looked at me ever since we arrived here," Chris teased.
Elsa chuckled, she wrapped her arms around her husband’s left arm and said, "Are you jealous? I am just enjoying everything that I am seeing. Come to think of it, we never had the chance to do this before. Oh! This is like a date! Our first date..."
She then lays her head on Chris’ shoulder as they leisurely stroll through the market streets near the port.
"Once we get back to Arcanis, I will make sure to bring you to the beautiful spots there every weekend. I am sure you will love it," Chris mentioned not knowing that the two people behind them were making faces as he and Elsa sweetly showed their affection to each other.
Stefan scoffed and whispered to Neia, "These two are the worst! Look at them walk real slow as if no one is behind them while flirting with each other. They should do that in their bedroom."
Chris smirked and shouted, "I can hear you, you know? You should get yourself a lover if you are jealous."
"No thanks, I’m a patient man. I’d rather wait for my precious butterfly to grow and fly to me," Stefan gushed proudly before gazing at Neia.
The werewolf princess gulped and blushed. She closed her fist as tight as she could to help steady her wild heartbeat. Even though it has been days since Stefan stayed at her side, she’s still not used to his presence. It still gives her butterflies especially when he would be bold in professing his feelings for her.
Chris was the one who scoffed loudly this time, not liking how Stefan was slowly marking his sister.
But before he could rebut, they were suddenly blocked by a tall muscular man.
"What a lovely day beautiful citizens of Zemaria! I am Bono the famous traveling merchant and I would like to invite you to my tent and offer you some rare and magical items that only the rich could afford. Please follow–"
Chris raised his hand to stop the merchant from speaking further. The four of them were wearing disguises, following Andrius’ suggestion so they could roam the town near the port freely.
He had heard of this merchant and what he said is true. He is famous because of how expensive his products are and a lot of them are useless things. So, he would not allow this man to steal their precious time with his shady business.
"You are mistaken, we are not rich. We won’t be able to afford whatever you are sell–"
"Shh!" Bono, the merchant brazenly exclaimed and added, "You can’t fool me with your disguises, Your Majesties and Your Highness. I just want a few moments of your time..."
He was about to bow but Chris immediately stopped him to avoid people from recognizing them. "What do you want?" Chris hissed in irritation as he tried hard not to lose his temper.
"I’ve told you before, my hope is simply that you take a moment to consider the items I have for sale. Maybe you’ll find something you like, particularly the medical tools, I went to great lengths to acquire from another world. It was a perilous attempt, nearly costing me my life." Bono directed a pout toward Chris before casting a knowing smirk at Elsa, undoubtedly capturing her interest.
Elsa stepped forward with curiosity and asked, "What kind of medical tools do you have?"
Chris rolled his eyes, he could clearly see where this was going while Bono had a devilish grin on his face which he had no plans of hiding.
"Forgive me, Your Majesty, I am just a lowly merchant and I do not know the names of each tool but I could show it to you. I also have a lot of things that women like, I am sure you’ll love them too. Would you want to see it? I will give you a discount if you buy a lot..." Bono giggled, waiting for Elsa’s reply.
"Show me..." Elsa said.
"Elsa, wait. This is a waste of time. I am sure whatever he is selling is not the one you have in mind. The portal to Novus is in Qiryn and it is highly restricted. Surely, your grandmother would not open a door just to let someone steal things from there and sell them here," Chris countered.
"The demons and Yvonne were able to go there, so there’s surely another way," Elsa pointed out.
"Arcanis’ new Queen is very smart, I am delighted. Besides, there’s nothing to lose by just looking, right? And perhaps you’ll find something that you can use someday, or in the very near future..." Bono uttered with a smirk and creepy voice.
"He is right Chris, we have nothing to lose. I am also curious what he is selling," Stefan commented.
"I have a case of ruby wine and grenadil cigars too, the one that you like, Your Majesty," Bono told Stefan.
The Vampire King smiled from ear to ear causing Chris to drop his jaw in astonishment. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"You buy from him too? Are you his regular customer?!" Chris exclaimed.
Stefan cleared his throat and straightened his back. "I am a King, people must have known what I like and what I do not, so they can please me. Don’t be surprised and don’t be mistaken..." Stefan proudly uttered before turning to Bono and ordered, "Take us to your tent, show us what you have to offer..."
