Chapter 293: Handsome Immortal

"What do you take me for? A Maniac? You hurt my feelings, my love," Chris said while grasping his chest.

Elsa laughed at his fake and weak acting and replied, "Are you not?"

"Depends... If it is you, then yes I am. So, do you want it or not? Just say yes..." Chris smirked and winked at her causing her to giggle more.

"Alright, I’ll take your offer coz my body needs it. But no extra services, alright?" Elsa clarified with a chuckle.

"Yes, ma’am! Go and lay on the bed. I’ll just go to the bath chamber. I think I saw a lavender oil there," Chris uttered.

Chris hurriedly searched for the oil that he saw and he was happy to prove that he was right, it was just beside the stone basin. He quickly grabbed it and went back to his wife only to find her sleeping for real this time.

"Hmm... I guess I should let her rest..." And so he did.

He lay next to her but his mind was full of things that he needed to do starting tomorrow.

’Ambros, where are you? Why are you hiding from us?’ Chris thought.

A lot of different scenarios had run in his mind, and thinking would not get him anywhere. So he rose up and decided to get his answers at that moment.

He knocked at Neia’s door which was immediately opened for him.

"I guess, Elsa had told you what I said to her... Come in and join me for tea," Neia greeted.

Chris pursed his lips and headed straight to the table where the teapot set was. "She did and I am here to know more. I promised her that I would look for her father."

"Hmm... You will leave empty-handed then. I already gave everything I got to Elsa. I have no more information to offer," Neia said as she poured tea into Chris’ teacup.

"Then tell me where did you meet him?" Chris urges trying to squeeze every little detail that he can get from his sister.

"In my dreams..."

Chris almost choked on the tea that he was drinking. He’s not sure what to think. His sister seems like she’s joking but her expression and voice are both serious.

"What kind of answer is that? Are you fucking kidding me?" Chris answered with an irritated voice.

"I’m not joking! I was on my way back to Arcanis before the blood moon. I fell asleep in the carriage and saw him in my dreams. It was so vivid that it looked more like a memory rather than a dream.

He told me to give the book that’s in my cloak’s pocket to Elsa and she’ll know what to do. He also told me to only tell Elsa and nobody else. Then I woke up and when I secretly frisked my cloak, it was there.

I had to carry my cloak all the time since the demon king was always with me and the only chance I got was when I was alone in the room with Lexi for a very short period of time.

So to answer your question about where is Seraphim Nathaniel, I have no idea. Maybe he had just ordered someone to put the book in my cloak before appearing in my dreams," Neia relayed.

"Or you had met him either in Arcanis or Kurzen then he altered your memory and made it look like you were just dreaming," Chris stated.

"Maybe... But gosh he is handsome, more handsome than you I might say," Neia quipped before taking a sip from the teacup.

"You really like old men don’t you?" Chris teased with a smirk.

"What?! I just go for the looks. Angels are immortals and he is one damn handsome immortal. He even looks younger than you."

"I saw him old... Well, he is an angel so perhaps he can change his looks anytime. Anyway, tell me right away when you remember something about him again. Or try to remember the surroundings when you saw him in your dream, it might give us a clue about where he is now."

Chris finished his cup and stood up, but Neia cleared her throat, causing Chris to pause.

"Brother, I want to leave tomorrow and go to Vrenada," Neia bravely announced.

"Why so soon? How about your wolf?" Chris asked.

"I want to stay in Vrenada and wait for my wolf to pass. I want to grieve in a place where there’s no werewolf who would see me in my sorrow, it’s embarrassing and painful. I don’t know how much time my wolf has but I can feel that it will take a while before she finally leaves me," Neia explained in a somber tone.

Chris stepped closer to Neia and hugged his sister tightly. "Alright, anything that will make you comfortable. Just promise me that you will reach out to me in case you need help. I also want you to write to me often so I will not get worried, alright?"

"You can count on that. Now go back to your family and rest as well. I’m feeling much better after meeting your cute son so don’t worry about me, I’m a grown woman," Neia beamed, easing Chris’ apprehension with her decision to leave.

"I’ll see you in the morning and I want to see you off until the port don’t oppose my decision anymore because this will be the last."

Neia nodded before Chris went out of the room.

He went back to their room and found Elsa sitting on the edge of their bed breastfeeding Rocco.

"Oh, you’re awake again," he said.

Elsa nodded and yawned at the same time while showing Chris her sleepy eyes.

"Rocco woke up and I had to change and feed him. Where have you been?" she asked.

"To Neia. She wants to leave tomorrow. I find it weird that she suddenly feels better and seems like she’s okay with losing her wolf. That’s not the reaction that I was expecting from my sister," Chris revealed.

"It’s either she had accepted her situation or she’s just hiding her emotions because she doesn’t want you to see her suffering. That’s why she wanted to leave right away, so she could finally be alone and grieve. Let her be, Chris. Not everyone deals with their pain the same way," Elsa remarked.

"Maybe... It’s just that she’s my little sister and just want to protect her."

"She knows that I am sure, but she’s not a child anymore and there are things in life that she has to face alone to be able to grow into a strong woman," Elsa reminded Chris.

Chris deeply sighed as he lay beside Elsa and Rocco. "You’re right. I should back off a bit. Will you go with me tomorrow when I send her off with Stefan until the port?"

"Sure, love, I will go with you..."
