The Royal Mark-Chapter 292: So Much Doubt
Elsa had so much on her mind and was a little bit worried about what Neia had said. It was as if she was predicting some of the things that would happen to her.
However, Valeria and Allister’s wedding news had made her forget everything... At least for now.
"Finally! Next month is when? Is it in two or three weeks?" Elsa was smiling from ear to ear but it soon faded after remembering Milda.
She quickly looked around in search of her and her worry was washed away when she saw her smiling back at her.
"It is exactly in twenty days. We still have time to find the perfect dress for the ceremony." It was Milda who answered Elsa’s question.
"But are you okay with it? I mean I you comfortable with them getting married?" Elsa inquired to make sure that Milda was not holding any grudge against her grandmother.
She observed her aunt’s expression carefully and she was happy to see that there was no hint of anger or sorrow for the incoming occasion. She could see that she was genuinely looking forward to the wedding.
"Yes, I am. I had already decided to let go of the past and just focus on myself from now on. I will focus on the things that will improve myself and will make me happy," Milda proudly announces with a smirk.
"You go, girl!" Elsa uttered and extended her hand for a fist bomb but Milda only stared at her hand with a confused face.
When they finally looked at each other they both laughed. "Oopsie... I sometimes forget where I am. What I meant is good work, and that I am proud of you."
"And I am proud of her too!" King Allister chimed in while wrapping each of his arms around Elsa and Milda’s shoulder.
"But it’s late, all of us should retire to our chambers and rest. We can talk about the details over breakfast tomorrow," the king added.
Chris heard the king and walked towards Elsa together with Stefan. "Grandfather is right. Let me carry Rocco for you. He is getting bigger and heavier every day you will hurt your back if you always carry him this way."
Elsa observed her grandparents’ smiles as they noticed Chris’ genuine concern for her well-being, even though she was simply carrying out typical maternal duties.
"Neia go and rest as well. I’ll see you in the morning," Chris said to his sister before giving a meaningful look at Stefan.
Everyone headed towards their rooms and Elsa was in deep thought while they were walking in the hallway which didn’t go unnoticed by Chris.
"Are you ok, my love?"
"I was just thinking if something else happened to Neia. Her words earlier were like prophecy. She warned me that bad things might happen soon and that Rocco will have siblings."
"Isn’t that our plan? To have a big family... Having more kids is not really a prophecy, love. Maybe she just said it differently but she meant that she wants to have more nephews or nieces. And about the bad things happening, well, there’s one that I could think of. The elders will surely retaliate and oppose me when I finally change a lot of rules in Arcanis. So don’t worry about things that are bound to happen," Chris stated.
"She also told me that my father was alive and he was the one who gave her the book of the," Elsa revealed before opening the door of their room for Chris and Rocco.
Chris stopped from his steps, stared at Elsa in surprise, and asked, "So where is Ambros now?"
"She doesn’t want to say because apparently, my father told her so," Elsa crossed her arms and sighed.
"It’s a good thing then," Chris commented as he carefully lay Rocco in his crib.
"And how is it a good thing?" Elsa questioned.
"It means that he doesn’t need rescuing or help from where he is now. Perhaps he’s doing a lot of things right now."
"So busy to inform his daughter that he is still alive and breathing?" Elsa sarcastically remarked.
"Perhaps he went back to Heaven because he is an angel? I don’t know but I am sure that he has a good reason for doing everything that he is doing."
Elsa rolled her eyes at Chris’ lame guess and her face became sour before she turned around and headed behind the dressing screen. But to her astonishment, Chris used his speed to catch up with her wrapping his arms around her waist from behind.
"Are you tired already?" Chris whispered into her ears.
"I just woke up before we ate dinner remember? Or maybe eating made me tired," Elsa glared at Chris on her side before trying to free herself from his embrace.
"Tomorrow, I will talk to my sister to get more details about your father. But even if she says the same thing to me as she told you, I will still create a search party to look for him. I was just trying to calm you down earlier," Chris promised and tightened his hug.
"It was irritating and not calming. I am worried about my father."
Chris let go of Elsa and gently turned her around before placing a soft kiss on her forehead. "I know and I’m sorry. We will not stop until we find him. Did you bring the book? It should have his scent if he was the one who gave it to Neia and we can use it to look for him."
Elsa nodded and replied, "I brought it with me but I was planning to give it to my mom when I get the chance."
"I am sure the mages have a spell that could keep the scent on the item or maybe transfer it to something else so I can give it to the group who will search for him. But tonight forget about everything and let’s focus on ourselves. How about I give you a massage to wash away all the negative feelings that you have tonight?" Chris offered.
Elsa’s eyebrows furrowed, showing so much doubt, "Hmm... Just massage right?"
