The Royal Mark-Chapter 291: Share A Little Secret
Elsa was stunned and speechless as she stared at Neia who was smiling back at her. She was confused if she had heard it right the first time so she asked, "My father gave you my great-grandmother’s book? You mean he is alive and he is here in Vectus?"
"Yes, your father. Dark blonde hair and it’s a bit long, he definitely needs a haircut."
"Are you sure Neia? When and where did you see him? Why hasn’t he reached out to me instead?" Elsa queried, still not sure if she would believe Neia or not.
"That, I can’t tell. We met during difficult circumstances and I promised him to not tell you more like what he wanted. And I intend to keep my promise. The only thing he wanted you to know is that he survived and is alive, well at least until he handed me that book.
He wanted to see you but because of his situation, you have to wait. Please be patient, I am sure he is trying his best to come to you. Believe and trust in him. You will surely be together once again in the future."
Neia extended her hand, touched Elsa’s lower abdomen, and continued with her advice, "For now, why don’t you focus on your family? I am sure Rocco would enjoy a playmate soon."
She then brushed her fingers on Rocco’s curly red hair and her expression became serious, "But before that, you may want to prepare for some troubles that will arise. Go with the flow because everything will fall into its rightful place. Trust the people around you, even if that trust will soon be betrayed.
Don’t worry because, in the end, you will succeed. Even though true happiness is far-fetched, it will be yours and your family to cherish forever."
Elsa narrowed her eyes not understanding why Neia was saying all that. She had goosebumps as she was listening to her sister-in-law but her heart was calm while hearing everything coming from her mouth.
She wanted to change the mood so she teased, "Wow, it was as if you are telling a prophecy. Are you?"
Neia laughed out loud and uttered, "Who knows? Maybe I am or maybe I got it from this little milk addict prince. We now share a little secret and I hope I’ll be able to thank him someday for giving my happiness back."
"You know what, sis? You are weird..." Elsa casually commented and to her surprise, Neia chuckled, she didn’t take it negatively at all.
"I know I am. That’s why you will miss me. Don’t tell my brother for now, but I plan to stay in Vrenada for good."
"Wow, yet again! Your ability to surprise is unmatched. But I’m curious, have you picked up any rumors from the staff?" Elsa inquired, pondering whether Neia had discovered the truth about her and Chris not being real siblings by blood.
"No. I knew that Christopher was not really my brother even before I was kidnapped. I heard my father, King Ulfgar, and my uncle Alaric talking about it before the king went to war before he died. So it was not news to me.
I will stay in Vrenada because I will be their Queen. I will marry Stefan very soon."
Elsa thought that Neia’s surprises were done but she was wrong. If only her jaw could reach the floor then it definitely had touched the ground by now. But she calmed herself not only because she was curious but she wanted to extract as much information as she could so she could decide if it was something that she needed to inform her husband about.
"Marry the vampire king? That’s a huge decision! Don’t you want to find your mate first before you decide?" Elsa inquired.
"I think Stefan is my mate. And if not, I will still marry him," Neia shyly answered.
"Did he force you to do that or perhaps threaten you? Neia, you know that you could tell me right? I won’t let anything bad happen to you, I promise!"
"Calm down, sis. I will tell you the reason why, but for now, that is a secret between me and this little boy. Rocco showed me that this grief that I am going through will end and that my happiness is just in front of me. Plus, I have been crushing on Stefan since I was young so I consider myself lucky."
Lines once again appeared on Elsa’s forehead, not understanding what the heck Neia was saying. It was as if she was dreaming while awake or perhaps she had gone deranged.
"You are making me anxious Neia, what is this secret between you and my infant son?"
"You must know by now that I am good at keeping secrets and I only reveal some things that I can. But don’t you worry, you will know in time... Hey, look! The cute little prince is already sleeping. Why don’t we transfer him to his crib, I’ll walk with you."
Elsa sighed, it was obvious that Neia wanted to stop their conversation and to avoid more questions from her so she nodded.
’I will uncover whatever you are hiding Neia, no secrets are left hidden forever.’
The two walked side by side and when they reached the end of the hallway, they were lured to the great hall by the loud noises of celebration. They decided to go down and have a look.
"There you are!" King Allister greeted as soon as he saw Elsa and Neia descending from the grand staircase.
"Christopher said you were putting Rocco to sleep, but I could not wait any longer because it was the perfect moment," the king added.
"You’re killing me with suspense grandpa, what is it?" Elsa asked in anticipation.
However, it was Valeria who answered on behalf of the king, "He just proposed to me again and in front of everyone. We will get married next month and it will be at the sea by the border of Zemaria and Qiryn so Hera can attend our wedding!"
