The Royal Mark-Chapter 290: Archmage Nadezhda’s Book
Elsa took Rocco from Chris, wanting to check her son if he was alright. Her worry washed away when Rocco smiled as soon as she held him.
"What the hell do you think you are doing?"
Elsa was startled when Stefan suddenly raised his voice, everything happened too fast. When she looked at Stefan, he was already grasping Chris’ arm but that wasn’t the one that surprised her the most. It was Chris’ claws that were already out ready to attack someone.
"What’s going on?" Elsa asked in confusion, it was just a few seconds after she had taken Rocco and it seemed like a lot had happened already in that very short period of time.
"I want to check her memory to see what happened. I want to make sure that our son and my sister are safe," Chris said while having a staring contest with Stefan.
"Definitely NO! You will not hurt Neia. You, yourself know that what you are planning to do will hurt her," Stefan pointed out.
"I know, but we are werewolves, we heal fast, and I was planning to take her pain anyway, so she won’t feel a thing," Chris explained.
Stefan finally let go of Chris’ arm and made him remember Neia’s state. "You are forgetting that Neia’s wolf is dying. We are not sure if she would still heal the same way. But then, your wife is a healer, let’s see if she would agree."
"Can you two stop?" Neia interrupted. "I am fine and my nephew is fine. I think he just healed me or at least attempted to heal me since I am not sick or injured. Maybe he thought he could use his divine magic to heal my sadness."
"Hmm... He is too young to think about that though," Elsa murmured but she was heard by the three loud and clear.
"Well, my nephew was born from a powerful werewolf king and a powerful mage so that is expected, especially that his grandfather is an angel. I am sure he will give us more surprises in the future," Neia commented.
Chris and Elsa looked at each other, both perplexed by what she had said when they were sure that no one had visited her other than them before and after she had regained her consciousness. So no one could possibly tell her that.
"How did you know that my father is an angel?"
"Oh, well, uhm... I just heard it from the servants when my wolf was awake... Why don’t we all eat now that we are complete? The dish that you prepared will get cold."
"Are you sure that you are ok?" Chris asked one last time.
"Yes, brother I am. Actually, I think your son did heal me. He healed my heart. I am less sad and I accept my situation more than before. I might still cry a bit but I feel lighter now. I think Rocco’s power is making people happy," Neia grinned and winked at Rocco who giggled in return before she took her seat at the table.
"I am sure he doesn’t need any power to make others happy, right sweetheart?" Elsa remarked as she tickled the little prince.
"Christopher, they both look fine. Can we drop it now?" Stefan requested, with pleading eyes.
"Fine, but I will assign someone to monitor Neia while we are here in Zemaria. I don’t want anyone to get hurt again, especially my family and my sister."
"Suit yourself, let’s eat now."
Chris kept on checking Neia and Rocco while eating their dinner but he didn’t find anything suspicious except that his sister looked happier than a few hours ago. However, he has no plan of letting his guard down.
Neia was doing the same. She kept on looking at Chris every now and then. She was feeling nervous about what she was about to say but she had no choice but to tell him. "Brother, I have something to tell you..." she stammered.
"I know, you can go with him," Chris replied hastily without looking at her.
Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped, not expecting his answer, "Really?! I-I mean h-how did you know?"
"Stefan told me in a way that I cannot say no," Chris scoffed, and gave the smiling vampire king a glare.
Neia jumped from her seat and wrapped her arms around Chris tightly, choking him.
"Thank you, thank you! I owe you one!"
Chris coughed when Neia finally let him go and gestured for her to continue eating.
"I’m so left out, what is it?" Elsa jested. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"I am going to stay in Vrenada in Stefan’s castle for a while," Neia told Elsa.
"What? Why are you not coming home with us? We haven’t really bonded, don’t you want to spend time with me and your nephew?" Elsa protested.
"I need time to completely accept my situation and it will be hard for me if I will see werewolves every day when I will no longer be one someday. But don’t you worry, I plan to bond with you after dinner and while I am here."
"Alright, you heard her. You two hurry up to eat. Me and my sister-in-law will need a lot of time catching up," Elsa quipped making the vampire king and werewolf king shake their heads.
But Elsa was serious, when Chris and Stefan finished their dinner, she almost kicked them out of the room so she could have time with Neia. The two walked out of the room scratching their heads, they literally had no choice but to get out of the room together with the servants.
"Hey Sis, I need to put Rocco to sleep, do you mind if I feed him on your bed?" Elsa asked.
"Feel free to do so. And thank you for kicking those two out of here. I really want to talk to you in private."
"Oh, me too, I want to ask you where you got my Archmage Nadezhda’s book."
Neia smiled at how direct Elsa was, there was no beating around the bush when it came to her.
"I got it from your father, Dr. Ambros Arden... But he uses "Nathaniel" or "Nathan" for short when he is here in Vectus..."
Elsa was stunned and speechless as she stared at Neia who was smiling back at her.
