The Royal Mark-Chapter 289: A Powerful Son
Chris’ jaw could literally hit the ground at how dumbfounded he is right now. But Stefan doesn’t seem to mind at all. He continued to drop the bombs one after the other.
"I already asked her to go with me to Vrenada and she agreed. But she will be an adult in a few months so for now I am letting you know since you are technically her guardian," Stefan added.
"Wow! So you are just informing me and not really asking for my approval, huh?" Chris replied.
"Uhm... Yes... She will turn eighteen soon anyway so what’s the use of you disapproving it right?"
"Another wow! And what makes you think that she will change her mind when she turns eighteen and wants to look for her mate?"
"Why can’t you be at my side at times like this? Why do you have to shove into my face that her mate is possibly not me?" Stefan pouted.
Chris gave Stefan’s shoulder a light squeeze. He knows how much his friend adores his sister but he didn’t think that he would take it this far.
"I am not demotivating you, I am just stating a fact that she’s a werewolf and will most probably look for her mate once she comes of age."
"But you are forgetting that her wolf is dying. It is also possible that she might not be able to find her mate once her wolf dies. She also wanted to go to Vrenada to forget things, to start new. Everything in Arcanis would remind her of her wolf, and all I want is for her to be her old self again."
Chris sighed deeply and ran his hands on his face. He admits that Stefan is right, but he also wants to be beside his sister during that sorrowful moment.
"Alright, but I have to hear what she has to say. You also have to promise me that if ever she wants to return home or find her mate, you will let her go. Because I am telling you, if you don’t I will not hesitate to wage war with Vrenada.
You have seen my wife and when I am upset, she won’t be happy. She will turn you to dust, I’m telling you," Chris warned full-heartedly, which Stefan felt.
Instead of feeling threatened, the Vampire King laughed and uttered, "So you are now going to hide behind your wife’s back?"
"Yes and no! I just want her to shine, because she deserves that. Plus, I am proud of her. You have to admit that she’s the most powerful being in the whole Vectus right now and I am the most lucky man alive."
"Whatever! You are full of yourself. I agree that she’s powerful but you are not the most powerful man alive, duh!" Stefan disagreed.
"If not me, then who is?"
"Me! I am almost a century old and yet I am alive and will be spending my life with my one true love forever!" Stefan boasted.
Chris scoffed ready to counter his friend’s opinion but they were distracted by a bright light coming from below.
********
A while ago in Neia’s room...
"Sis, I must say, your cooking is superb! I think this is why my brother is head over heels in love with you, besides the fact that you are mates."
"Actually, he cooked for me the first time we met. And this is the first time that I’ll be cooking for him since I never had the chance," Elsa said.
"Oh! So he must taste this before I finish it all. You should call them back. They are on the roof, and some of my werewolf abilities are still working. Let me hold my nephew for a while you fly to them. I want to see your wings!"
Elsa laughed at how enthusiastic Neia was. She was happy to see that even for a while Neia seemed to forget the grief that she was going through by just being surrounded by family.
Elsa stood up and handed over Rocco to Neia, "Alright, if you insist, hold Rocco for–"
A radiant glow emanated from Rocco’s hand as his hand made contact with Neia’s cheek while the princess attempted to grasp him, with Elsa passing him over.
Neia embraced the boy while Elsa and all the servants in the room covered their eyes, protecting their sight from the bright light.
"What’s going on?"
Chris and Stefan went back to the room after a few seconds using their super-speed. They found Elsa and the servants away from the table where Neia and Rocco were.
"I-I’m not sure. I was about to call you and I passed Rocco to Neia and his hand glowed like that when he touched Neia’s cheek," Elsa explained.
"Should we do something?" Stefan asked worriedly.
"N-No let’s wait. I am not feeling anything bad about it. That is divine light, I don’t think they are in any harm," Elsa said.
It took a while before the light disappeared. And when it did, they saw Neia and Rocco smiling at each other.
"Are you ok?" Stefan quickly went to Neia’s side to check on her.
"Yes, I am fine, why wouldn’t I be?" Neia answered with a gleeful tone.
Chris took Rocco and the boy giggled, making him wonder more about what just happened.
"Something is different with you. Tell us what happened. What was the bright light about?" Chris demanded.
But Neia chuckled at them and said, "Nothing happened. Rocco just wanted to say hi and I think he rakes after you. He just showed off his power. I didn’t know that mages are born with magic. I thought they had to train to increase their mana to be able to use magic."
"You are not wrong, Neia. But for Divine mages, we receive our gifts or powers at age thirteen, and not babies like Rocco," Elsa explained.
"Wow, you have a powerful son there big brother. I am sure every woman in Vectus would line up in Arcanis when he turns into the marrying age. You better improve our castle’s gates," Neia joked.
Stefan, Chris, and Elsa gave each other a meaningful gaze and no words are needed for them to understand each other.
’Is it just me or your sister is acting weird? She seems happy for someone who is about to lose her wolf,’ Elsa told Chris through their bond.
’Something is not right... I have to get to the bottom of this...’ Chris replied.
