The Royal Mark-Chapter 288: For Eternity
As Elsa followed Chris into the room, she was immediately struck by the gloomy atmosphere. Her gaze fell upon Neia, tears streaming down her face as she sat on the edge of the bed. Stefan was by her side, offering comfort.
The sadness emanated by Neia was strong and Rocco felt that too making him cry all of a sudden, attracting the attention of Neia and Stefan.
"Aw, what’s wrong my prince, did you feel sad as well seeing your aunt cry?" Chris loudly uttered, making sure that Neia heard him clearly.
He then stared at Neia and said, "See... You made your nephew cry. I bet if you smile even for a bit, he will smile too."
Chris’ encouragement worked and his sister quickly wiped her tears and walked towards him.
"Is this him? So what I heard is true. He looks like you but with red hair," Neia giggled a bit making Chris and Stefan smile.
She has been so devastated knowing that she will lose her wolf that she won’t stop crying. But seeing a new little chubby face lifted her spirit a bit.
"Hey, don’t be so respectful to your sister-in-law. She brought this little man to life all by herself, without my help, I think she deserves the credit," Chris quipped.
"Well, of course, they say that babies usually look like the person that their mother thinks about during their pregnancy. So it means that sister Elsa here thought of you at that time but babies also change their faces and will look more like the people that they are always with. So he will look more like sister Elsa soon," Neia winked at Elsa and smiled before extending her arm or a handshake.
"I am sorry that it is only now that I will be able to introduce myself properly. I was not in my right mind in the past as you know. I am Neia... I am so happy that there’s finally someone that could tame my brother–"
Chris quickly her off, "Hey, I am not feral, what ’tame’ are you talking about?"
Elsa and Neia giggled and Neia continued, "Only sister Elsa would know. Is it ok, if I call you my sister?"
"Absolutely and why are you giving me a handshake, come here sis, and give your big sister a hug!" Elsa replied, making Neia almost jump in joy.
But that joy quickly turned into sadness one more time remembering the bond that she and her wolf shared over the years.
Rocco felt her sadness once again and cried.
"Hey, hey, don’t cry, Aunt Neia is just hugging your mommy she’s not going to take her. Don’t tell me you are jealous?" Chris said.
Elsa took the little boy from his father and explained, "No, Chris. He is not jealous. I think he can feel the sorrow that Neia is emanating. I can feel it as well."
Neia gasped and said, "Oh, is that it? I am sorry little one. I can’t help it, your Aunt is saying goodbye to my old friend. Forgive me if my pain is too much that it’s pouring out." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"What do you mean by saying goodbye? You can still talk to your wolf?" Elsa questioned in confusion.
"My wolf is dying sis. She is still alive but barely. She comes and goes. She will talk to me when she has strength but it’s becoming less frequent as time passes by.
"I see. I am sorry I couldn’t heal her or do anything to help you," Elsa sighed.
"It’s ok. I was told that even the witch queen said that she couldn’t reverse it. She must be happy in hell, knowing that she has succeeded."
"Hey, don’t say that. Because if it’s true then I’ll go there to make her life miserable until she begs me to kill her once more," Stefan scowled.
"Alright, I will not. But you all have to be patient with me since I am not sure until when will I be like this," Neia grieved.
"Why don’t you eat then? You know what they say back in my world, ’happy tummy, happy life’ and ’good food equals good life’. I cooked everything except for the roasted beef since the cook was already roasting it when we arrived in the kitchen."
Neia turned to the table being set by the servants and her stomach instantly growled upon noticing the food and her mouth watered when she smelled the aroma of the dishes.
’Wow, your wife can cook!’ she said to Chris through their mind link.
Chris did not reply, however, he smiled shyly and blushed. Stefan frowned upon noticing how Chris was acting and wondered what made him that way.
"I can’t believe I didn’t notice this before," Neia announced before walking to the table.
"It’s because you are busy sulking that’s why you are missing the best in life..." Chris exclaimed making him earn a glare from Neia, but he just laughed it off.
"You girls go ahead and eat. I’ll just borrow Chris for a while, is that okay?" Stefan asked.
"Sure go ahead. I am really hungry. But be quick, I want to eat dinner with my husband," Elsa answered without looking while she took a seat with Neia at the table.
Chris’ eyebrows furrowed in curiosity about what Stefan had to say that he had to talk to him privately.
The Vampire King made his way to the balcony and leaped up to the castle roof. Chris swiftly trailed behind his old friend, his curiosity intensifying.
Chris couldn’t hold it anymore and asked, "Why do we have to go up here just to talk?"
"I just want to make sure that Neia won’t hear what I am about to say."
"And that is?"
"I will take her to Vrenada and marry her there. She will be my queen, and once she finally loses her wolf, if she agrees, I want to be with her for eternity..." Stefan glanced at his friend who was just staring at him with mouth wide open, completely flabbergasted.
"And yes, I know what you are thinking. I want to turn her into a vampire if she would agree," King Stefan added.
