Chapter 280: Warm Lips

Laureen collapsed on the ground as soon as the bright light dissipated. Milda and Elsa panicked not knowing what was the effect of the spell that Irina wrote for Milda to use.

Worry and doubt occupied Elsa’s mind once more. She was quick to blame herself for trusting Milda and what more, Irina, that even in her death she was able to do harm to others.

Elsa immediately thought that perhaps Irina knew the feelings of her son, Andrius, for Laureen and wanted to remove her from her son’s life.

Andrius, who was the first one to attend to Laureen lifted her up and placed her on his lap. "I-I don’t think she’s breathing..."

"Move!" Elsa ordered, almost pushing Andrius.

The Crown Prince hastily put back Laureen on the floor and Elsa checked her. Elsa briskly positioned Laureen’s head properly and started doing chest compression.

"She went into cardiac arrest, damnit! Rylie, I taught you how to do this right? I need you to be ready to switch places with me," Elsa said.

"Got it, My Queen," Rylie replied and requested Prince Andrius to step aside.

"Why did this happen? I am sure I did everything right and accurately!" Milda exclaimed as tears built up in her eyes.

"I know, it’s not your fault. You only did what the book told you to do," Elsa said and gave Andrius a meaningful look which he picked up quickly.

"I am so sorry, Brother. I did my best but I didn’t know this would be the result," Milda uttered.

"Milda, let’s go through the notes of the spell once more. Let’s check if we missed something," Valeria suggested.

Milda hurriedly took out the book from her pocket and went through the pages one by one.

Valeria pointed to a picture on the side of the ingredients of the potion and said, "Look here, it says that air, water, and fire must be used at the same time as the potion. The drawing shows a person doing it, perhaps it must be elemental mages who must do it instead of objects that produce those elements."

"We have no time to find a water mage. Chest compression on Laureen must not stop. I’ll do those three. Rylie, let’s switch!"

Rylie was fast in continuing the chest compression on Laureen as Elsa took a breather before giving instructions.

"Milda, repeat the spell. We will go back from the start," Elsa said then turned to Valeria. "Grandma, be ready to pour the potion into Laureen’s mouth like what she did earlier and I’ll be ready to do my thing."

Milda and Valeria nodded and got into position.

Milda soon recited the spell from her mother’s book, "Aqua medendi. Dea salutis, ofero tibi, sanguis meus et sanguis progenitorum meorum, exaudi me et da sanitatem!"

After just one recital, the circle glowed and Valeria poured the potion into Laureen’s mouth with great speed.

"Clear! Everybody move away from Laureen!" Elsa shouted and Rylie almost jumped out of the circle, away from Laureen before Elsa cast her fire, water, and air magic at once. Summoning three of her elements at the same time produced a blinding lightning that hit Laureen straight to the chest.

It was an intense scene that made everyone hold their breath. Even though they have their eyes closed, everyone hopes and wishes to see Laureen back on her feet the moment they open their eyes.

However, while waiting for the bright light to fade, they heard Laureen coughing. So Andrius used his arm to shade his eyes to be able to get to Laureen and found her next to another unconscious body on the floor.

"Luna! Queen Elsa!" Laureen screamed as she shook Elsa’s body, trying to wake her up.

"She’s alright, don’t worry," Valeria assured the King and everyone else in the room.

"Summoning all those elements surely consumed a lot of her mana and tired her out. Drake, Arla, please help me bring her to her room," Valeria added.

"I will go with them, Milda, Rylie please check on Laureen. Please make sure that she is well before leaving this room," King Allister ordered.

Laura and Andrius helped Laureen stand up and were still worried for she still looked weak.

"How are you feeling? Can you talk to your wolf again?" Milda asked with mixed emotions. She was excited to know if the spell worked but was also scared that she had done more damage than good.

"I can feel my wolf’s presence as of the moment, Your Highness. I was able to talk to her but it was like a dream. I saw my wolf and when she howled I felt a strong force enter my body which woke me up," Laureen said.

"That was Queen Elsa’s lightning entering your body. Do you feel any pain or discomfort?" Rylie questioned.

"None, but my wolf is very weak, is that supposed to happen?"

"I am not sure too, but perhaps it was because she was trapped for a while and the spell weakened her. I think you should take a rest and we’ll see if it will make your wolf regain her strength," Rylie suggested.

"Alright, thank you Rylie, and most especially to you Princess Milda, I owe my life to all of you."

"You’re welcome but you don’t owe me anything. But if you really want to repay me, be good to my brother. That’s enough payment," Milda and Rylie giggled and so as Laura.

Laureen’s face turned red and shyly looked at Andrius whose face was so stern as if he was mad.

"I-I think I should take your advice and rest now," Laureen said.

Milda nodded and went out of the room together with Rylie and Laura, but Andrius didn’t even bother to move. Laureen watched the three women walk out and the moment the sound of the closing door was heard, Andrius’ sobs echoed through the room, astonishing Laureen as she gazed at the crying Crown Prince.

"A-Are you hurt?" Laureen asked in bafflement.

"No! You idiot!"

Laureen was so surprised that Prince Andrius called her an idiot causing her to drop her jaw and gasp. But the air was immediately blocked from entering her mouth for it was quickly sealed by Andrius’ warm lips.
