"Elsa! You scared Rocco. Why shout like that, jeez..." Milda complained as she tried to make Rocco stop crying. πππππ¨π²πππ¨π―ππ.ππΌπΊ
"Oh, Iβm so sorry, my darling," Elsa said while wiping Roccoβs tears. She then added, "Iβm talking to Chris and he got injured, hold on."
βAre you okay? Please tell me you are okay and itβs nothing serious,β Elsa said back to their bond.
βI am okay, but I might need your healing in case your grandmother cannot heal me. It was Neia who used her claws against me,β Chris replied.
Elsa frowned and asked, βWhy would she hurt you? Tell me exactly what happened.β
βElandir didnβt join us when we attacked the castle, he had a different mission, and that was to find the next Queen who would rule Saldivar. He didnβt have to search for long since the person was part of the resistance and was already with us.
But when Neia saw her, she suddenly attacked her and lost control of herself. Elandir said it could be part of Yvonneβs spell. When she couldnβt reach Yejin, the new Queen of Saldivar, she attacked everyone near her, and I got hurt while trying to stop her.
Baahu was able to contain her but sheβs far from being ok. Aeson said that the witch queen experimented on Laureen and we suspect that she used the same spell on Neia but a stronger and improved one.β
βAlright, please take care of yourself. I brought Rylie with me so we could make the ship sail faster going to Zemaria. Weβll be there in no time,β Elsa assured Chris before taking Rocco from Milda.
"Is Chris alright?" Milda asked.
"Yes, but he needs a divine mage to heal him, or probably only me since that bitch surely made sure that her spells and curses cannot be cured by just a simple divine mage," Elsa said.
"So thatβs probably the reason that he needs you in Zemaria right away," Milda guessed.
Elsa looked at Rylie who was staring back at her with a meaningful look. She smiled slightly at Milda and said, "Thatβs part of it since the main event is to celebrate the success of Zemaria and Arcanis."
"I am excited to see my brother be the King, finally. However, he needs a Queen and the woman that he wants is far from better. Father will surely pressure him to get married as soon as he hands over the crown," Milda mentioned.
"How about you? Shouldnβt you get married too?" Elsa teased and deep inside she was thankful that their conversation turned elsewhere since she was finding it difficult to hide from Milda what happened to Irina.
"Hey, not because my brother needs a wife doesnβt mean I need a husband. I donβt think I even want kids. Donβt get me wrong I love Rocco but I donβt think I can take care of a child whole day and night like what you are doing. Itβs not for everyone, you know."
"Are you sure about that? The last time I saw you, you wereβ"
Milda quickly covered Elsaβs mouth and exclaimed, "Shut your mouth. I know Rylie is your lady-in-waiting and she probably already knows it but this is embarrassing, so shut it."
Rylie looked confused and asked, "Know what Your Highness?"
"She doesnβt know... Yet!" Elsa pressed her lips as she waited for Mildaβs reaction.
To her surprise, Milda rolled her eyes and whispered to Rylie... A whisper that was loud enough for Elsa to hear.
"She caught me and Hoven doing something naughty..." Milda said and smiled.
Rylieβs eyes bulged out and almost dropped to the ground. She looked at Elsa and asked, "Am I thinking it right? You caught them doing something like what married couples do in their bedroom?"
Elsa pressed her lips harder trying not to laugh at how surprised Rylie was. In her world, such things are common but in Vectus, people are more conservative and Milda doing something out of the ordinary will surely shock other people, including Rylie.
"How direct do you want me to be, Rylie? You are already married, trying for a baby and yet you are so naive. Iβll tell you, so you donβt have to wonder before you sleep. Elsa caught me and Hoven having sex near the dungeon..." Milda audaciously said making Rylie gasp and cover her mouth with both hands as she stared at Milda in astonishment.
Milda turned to Elsa and laughed. Elsa was not able to hold her laughter anymore and burst out in laughter.
"Oh my Lord, you really did that?" Rylie asked, making the two women laugh harder.
"Yes, I did, Rylie. But I am telling you because I know that you will not tell anyone, even your husband. I did it because I was curious, not because I was in love with Hoven. We both feel the same so donβt blame him or anything like that.
After my mother was exiled, I realized so many things and because of that, I want to be true to myself. I want to be free, I donβt want to be like my mother who followed traditions only to end up miserable.
Donβt get me wrong. I love her so much but I donβt want to be like her. I donβt want to be sold off to a rich nobleman just because I am a virgin and a princess. I want the man who will marry me to love me for who I am and not because of my virginity," Milda explained in a serious tone causing Elsa to stop giggling and finally understand Mildaβs side.
She didnβt expect such revelation from her but it definitely made her see her aunt in a different light. She might have been not too kind to her and her mother in the past but now she understands why.
Sheβs just like them who has feelings and also gets hurt sometimes. Even though she was born and grew up as a princess, she has her own version of her problems too. Some of them were even traumatic which is probably why she acted the way she did towards her and Hera in the past.
But now, all she can see is a woman who is slowly healing and coming out of her box. Someone who is ready to make friends and show people what she truly feels.
Elsa reaches out for Mildaβs hand and gives it a light squeeze, "Donβt worry, your secret is safe with Rylie, Lexi, and me."
