The Royal Mark-Chapter 276: Nothing but a Headache
Thanks to the magic of Elsa and Rylie, their ship arrived in Zemaria in no time. Elsa was welcomed by her grandparents who stood in the castle entrance waiting patiently just right after their group entered the castle gate.
Valeria quickly extended her arms to Rocco who smiled at the sight of her. "Oh dear, what a handsome boy you are. Come, Great-grandma will take care of you. Your mom will be busy today."
Elsa happily handed over her son to her grandma and swiftly asked, "Where’s Chris?"
"He’s in your room. I tried healing his injury but it didn’t do much. Go and see him. We’ll take it from here," Valeria answered.
Elsa nodded and looked at Milda who was already walking towards the castle door. She turned to her grandfather and asked, "How is Andrius and Drake?"
King Allister did the same, he looked at Milda’s direction first before answering Elsa’s question. Thankfully, Milda was no longer there and was already inside the castle and King Allister had no reason to hold back anymore.
"They are devastated. I wish I could say that one of them is holding it together but that’s not the case. Drake had always wanted to capture Irina’s attention and love. Now that she’s gone, he can no, longer do that. He will forever regret his past.
On the other hand, Andrius not only lost his mother but also the person who could cure his future. So, I can say that both my sons are on the same boat right now."
Elsa tilted her head and frowned, "Hmm... From your words alone, why do I feel that you are okay with Andrius getting married to a non-noble woman?"
King Allister smiled and replied, "When you get older, your perspective of what a good life is changes. There are things that you will come to terms with. Not because you gave up but because you have seen the effect of it over the years. And when you age, you just want to choose happiness because you are tired of all the negative things you experienced in life."
Elsa felt King Allister’s words straight to her heart. She can feel that her grandfather is really at peace now and living the best time of his life. She just wishes that all of her family members would achieve the same.
However, for now, they must focus on their current situation and it is a crucial moment for their family.
"I love your thinking Grandpa, but for now I will check on my husband first. Call me if you need me."
Elsa rapidly strides to their room, worried about Chris after learning that his injury couldn’t be healed by her grandmother. Many different scenarios were already running through her mind on what could be the reason for it.
"Chris!" Elsa called out upon entering their room.
Chris was lying weakly on their bed, shirtless and with bandages wrapped around his torso.
"You’re here. I’m so happy to see you, my love! Where is our little prince?" Chris asked while trying to get up from bed. But soon winced in pain and held his stomach which started bleeding again. His white bandages suddenly became stained with red and that made Elsa more worried.
"Don’t get up anymore. Your wound is still open. Let me see," Elsa uttered as she quickly sat beside Chris. She took the scissors from her bedside drawer and cut his bandages to see the state of his wound.
"Hmm... The bleeding is coming from the center of each cut... Looks like it’s the deepest part as well," Elsa uttered as she inspected Chris’ wound.
"You’re right, Neia had buried her claws deeper on those parts, before Baahu and Stefan pulled her away from me."
"Understood," Elsa said before she stood up and added, "Stay here. I will prepare for your surgery. But first I have to check Neia to see if my assumption is correct."
"S-Surgery? You will not heal me but cut me more instead?" Chris stuttered. Even though he had gone through it before, he was not aware and was asleep at that time. This will be the first that he is informed of what will happen before it really happens.
"Yes. I need to cut the surrounding tissue to see if there’s some foreign objects left inside which was causing the bleeding."
"Is that really necessary? Can’t you just use your magic to remove it?" Chris asked with a quivering voice.
Lines quickly formed on Elsa’s forehead, she was quite confused about Chris’ hesitation in undergoing the surgery when he waited for her just to be healed.
But her facial expression suddenly turned into a smile when she finally realized the reason why he is being like that.
"My goodness, Chris. Don’t tell me you are scared of the surgery. I did it before so why get scared now?"
Chris cleared his throat and uttered, "That was different. I was not in my right mind back then and today I am very lucid and aware."
Elsa laughed but quickly stopped herself after seeing the embarrassment on her husband’s face. "Don’t worry. I will put you to sleep this time too. I really think that there’s something inside you that’s causing the bleeding. If we do not remove them, those objects will hinder your body from healing by itself.
Since Yvonne kidnapped Neia, I am also suspecting that it is not something ordinary. That’s why I have to check on Neia first to at least try to find out what should I be looking for inside your wounds. Don’t worry, I got you." Elsa winked with a smile before turning around and heading to Neia.
Her smile faded the moment she closed the door.
’I wonder what that evil witch queen did this time. She’s nothing but a headache. Good thing she’s gone. But even though she’s dead, the problems that she had left might not even have a solution. How I wish I was the one who killed her. I would surely not let her go that easily.’
