Chapter 274: Off to Zemaria

Elsa waited patiently for Chris to contact her to tell her the news. She and Lexi pretended nothing had happened the moment they went back to the dining hall where Milda and the rest were.

She wanted to wait for Andrius and Drake’s decision on how to approach and tell Milda the sad news. Even though Irina wasn’t nice or kind to her, she’s both a mother and a daughter. She had experienced losing a mother and a father before, so she knows how it hurts.

It’s a pain that she doesn’t wish anyone to feel or go through.

But they have another problem at hand, they have to find ways how to cure Laureen and find her wolf. Since the evil witch queen is gone they only have themselves to rely on in helping Laureen.

So instead of waiting for Chris while doing nothing, she called for Lexi to the library.

"Luna? You called for me?" Lexi asked as soon as she got there. She saw Elsa and Rylie going through the pile of books on the table.

"Yes, Kaizer volunteered to look after Rocco and I am not doing anything this afternoon. Help us find something that could help cure Laureen and her wolf. There must be something here that could give us a hint on how to help her."

"I have a better idea. Our mansion has a collection of books about werewolves and ancient magic. But nothing is forbidden, it’s mostly about magic that no one uses anymore because they are no longer beneficial, or a much better spell was created. But who knows? Perhaps it will help us," Lexi offered.

"Alright, tell the servants to make preparations and I will also take Milda with us. We don’t know if someone other than us already knew what happened in Saldivar and going to your mansion will prevent her from getting the news prematurely. I want her brothers to be the ones to tell her the news and not someone else."

"Agreed Luna, I will leave and do what you said," Lexi acknowledged before leaving the room.

Elsa’s attention was caught by Rylie’s sigh and asked, "Are you okay?"

"Yes, My Queen. It’s just that even though I don’t like Queen Irina, it is still sad that she passed away like that. I can’t imagine the pain that the two princes are going through now, especially Prince Drake.

Of all the siblings, he was the one who craved his mother’s attention. And now that she’s gone, I have no idea how is he going to get through it."

Elsa hooked her arms around Rylie’s and uttered, "Don’t worry too much, he has Arla now. I am sure she will be there for him every step of the way. Don’t be so sad yet. Milda must not know that we know anything. Let’s go and prepare for our journey to the Heraldsen’s mansion."

After packing up, the ladies together with Rocco and Kaizer met up in front of the castle as the servants put their luggage on the carriage. The Heraldsen’s mansion will take half a day by land and they planned to stay there at least until Chris gets back.

"Where is the owner of the mansion anyway? Don’t tell me we will go there without her?" Milda questioned impatiently after seeing that the servants were done and Lexi was nowhere to be seen.

"I’ll ask one of the servants to look for her, Princess," Rylie said before turning to one of the servants.

After a few minutes of waiting, instead of Lexi, it was Hoven who arrived and looked like he was in a hurry.

"We are waiting for your sister, where is she?" Milda asked with her arms crossed.

"There have been changes to your plan. I asked her to go with the servants to pack Princess Neia’s belongings and also help Laura pack Laureen’s. You will be all going off to Zemaria instead of our mansion. This is an order from King Christopher," Hoven said sternly making Milda frown.

However, Elsa understood why Hoven did this and why Chris didn’t inform her first.

"Alright, off to Zemaria we go then," Elsa casually said making Milda more confused.

"What? You are just going to agree on that without asking why. Or do you already know the reason why your husband wants us to go there? Tell me, is Arcanis under attack?" Milda inquired with worry.

But instead, it was Hoven who answered her. "We are not under attack, the war is over and we won. As a result, King Stefan, King Christopher, and Prince Andrius decided to head to Zemaria instead to deliver the good news to King Allister. If you remember, your father also promised Prince Andrius to give him the crown as soon as he won the war with Saldivar. So, I think that’s one reason why."

Hoven explained carefully as he tried to not hint to Milda of the sad news that she was about to receive from her brothers.

"Come to think of it, Rocco will be seeing his great-grandparents too. Plus, I will be able to run away in the meantime from Lexi’s history class," Elsa told Milda, trying to show her that everything was fine.

"I guess this is a celebration then. Well, to tell you honestly, celebrating is much better than researching in the library. So shall we?" Milda said.

"Please hop in the carriage, me and Lexi will be right behind you. We’ll see each other again in the port," Hoven instructed before going back inside the castle.

Elsa looked at Rylie and Kaizer who perfectly knows what to do. Kaizer opened the door of the carriage, signaling the women to go inside.

"I will not join you inside for I will be taking a horse instead," Kaizer mentioned before closing the carriage door.

Milda extended her hands to Elsa and asked, "Can I carry Rocco while we are on our way to the port? He is getting bigger and bigger every day and I am afraid one day I will wake up and I can’t carry him anymore."

Elsa smiled and happily handed Rocco to her. Rocco giggled as soon as he saw Milda and Rylie’s faces in front of him. The two ladies got so busy with the little prince that they didn’t notice the somber look on Elsa’s face.

’My Queen... I’m sorry I only contacted you now. I just don’t want you to worry,’ Chris suddenly uttered through their bond.

’How are you? We are on our way to the port.’

’I am sure that you are not aware yet since I ordered Lexi and Hoven to not tell you this. But I got injured an–’

"WHAT?!"

Elsa loudly shouted unconsciously startling Milda and Rylie and making Rocco cry.
