The Royal Mark-Chapter 257: The Luna’s Bloodline
"Look, sweetheart, he’s your Daddy," Elsa said when she was finally a step away from Chris.
Chris sniffed and blinked away the tears that threatened to fall and held Rocco’s little hand. The little boy quickly gripped his finger tightly and smiled.
"He is beautiful and perfect, my love. Thank you!" Chris uttered and gave Elsa a kiss on her forehead before turning again to Rocco.
"Hello, Rocco. Nice to meet you. I am your father," Chris gently uttered to his son who giggled at the sound of his voice, completely ignoring and forgetting about the elders in the room.
Elsa handed Rocco over to Chris who widened his eyes and hesitated. "Carry him. Don’t you want to hold him?"
"But I don’t know how to carry a baby," Chris replied.
"Just support his bottom and back, you’ll be fine. You got this," Elsa encouraged him.
Chris did as Elsa said and Rocco immediately laid his head on his chest. He kissed his son’s head and smelled his sweet baby scent. At this point, he could no longer hold back his tears, Tears of joy flowed from his eyes, touching the hearts of many in the room.
"Oh, by the goddess, why am I crying? This is embarrassing, a king shouldn’t cry," Chris murmured even though he really didn’t care what everyone in the assembly hall would think.
Elsa chuckled and wiped Chris’ tears for he didn’t move anymore after receiving Rocco in his hands, afraid of dropping him down.
Elsa’s ladies-in-waiting were teary-eyed as well at the sight of the father and son. Elandir and Hoven smiled at each other while some of the elders were deeply moved by the emotional scene and first meeting of the father and son, others were not.
"This is what I am talking about. Your chosen wife didn’t even honor the assembly of the council and barged in uninvited to this meeting!" It was the elder whom Elsa slapped earlier using her wind spell.
’I think this one wants another slap,’ Elsa said to Lexi via their link causing her to lower her head and press her lips hard to prevent herself from laughing.
"You are out of line," Chris said calmly not wanting to scare Rocco, who is now showing his sleepy eyes.
"Oh, am I? But I am sure I heard my name earlier in this meeting and as far as I remember I was being scrutinized wrongly by you and the others while I was not present. Don’t you think it’s unfair for you to do that when I am not in the room to answer your allegations or defend myself?
Not that I care but it’s annoying really. An old man of your age shouldn’t believe in gossip and shouldn’t state things without proof. Honestly, I thought the council members were wise and smart, but I guess I was wrong. You, yourself are a testament that dumb members exist in the council," Elsa rudely said, which was really her intention.
The elder’s face turned red in fury and his face turned sour as he stared at Elsa before retorting. "How dare you disrespect the council like that! You are a half-breed, whose father is an unknown shifter! Surely your child will not inherit his father’s true alpha blood. His blood is just stained with so many impurities that one couldn’t even fathom what bloodline he would even get. You are an abomination that shouldn’t be allowed to live!"
The elder’s voice was so loud that it startled Rocco who already drifted off to sleep in his father’s chest. The little boy pouted and his eyes quickly welled up with tears before he wailed loudly.
"Oh no, what should I do?" Chris panicked not minding the angry elder in front of them.
"Shh, shh, hush like that and cradle him a bit," she said to Chris before looking back to the elder. "Keep your voice down! Look what you’ve done. You scared him."
"If such sound scares him, that only proves that he is not fit to be the future of Arcanis!" the elder yelled loudly, making Rocco cry louder.
Chris had enough and he wanted to give that elder a lesson by punching him in the face for yelling and disrespecting his family. He handed Rocco to Elsa but paused halfway.
Rocco’s eyes turned red as he kept crying and his hands went ablaze. A bright yellow light also surrounded him similar to Elsa’s divine protection spell that she always used to protect herself from any magical attack. Rocco’s display of power caused the people in the room to gasp in astonishment and surprise, even Chris.
Elsa chuckled, took Rocco from Chris, and said, "Oh, good job Rocco. You don’t have to show off that you both have the true alpha blood of your daddy and mommy’s magic. Look, you scared the poor elder."
Elsa then raised her eyebrow at the audacious elder who stared at Rocco with a dropped jaw and obviously flabbergasted.
"Does anyone of you still doubt my son’s bloodline and power? As for his ability to rule Arcanis, don’t worry... I’ll make sure to train him to make all of you submit and bow down to his feet once he learns how to walk, but, he has to learn how to sit and stand first!"
Elsa looked away for Chris’ statement made her want to laugh so hard, while the elders were already all silent and still processing in their minds what they just saw.
"That doesn’t change the fact that the Queen’s bloodline is questionable! We don’t even know if her father is a demon or a witch and just used magic for her to have wings like an angel!" The elder voiced, still not wanting to accept defeat.
"It doesn’t matter! She’s strong and has proven that she’s ready to serve and protect our people!" Chris yelled back.
"Erhm, erhm..." Elandir cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention. He walked a few steps near Chris and Elsa when everybody looked at him before saying his piece.
"Actually, King Christopher, it does matter."
Chris and Elsa exchanged frowns, uncertain of Elandir’s intentions, echoing the thoughts of those present. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"Queen Elsa’s father is not unknown and also not a shifter, like what everyone is gossiping about. I am sure the elders and everyone in this room except for the Queen had studied the history of Vectus, specifically the story of the fallen angel Seraphim Nathaniel," Elandir said.
"You are not being asked, elf! Don’t insert things that are not related to the issue at hand," the elder rebutted.
"I know I am not, but I am the only person in this room that knows the truth. Even though you are not worthy to know it... As I was saying, in the story the angel was kicked out from Heaven after falling in love with a human. And even after the human died, his punishment was not lifted.
He stayed as an immortal wandering Vectus and watching everyone around him grow and die. But he fell in love again with a human and this time with a powerful human princess who wield divine magic. The same power that he and his brothers gave the humans to protect their kind from the demons thousands of years back.
The princess falls in love with the seraphim and they bear a child. A daughter who was born and brought up in another world without knowing the real depths of her powers. And by now, I think you already know who am I talking about, right?"
The council stays silent, still trying to grasp everything that Elandir just revealed.
"Are you saying that our Luna is the daughter of the angel that helped the humans before?" Hoven asked in bafflement.
"Yes, Hoven, your Luna, or rather Queen Elsa is half human and half angel. Not just any angel though, a Seraphim, the highest of all the angels. So if you’re gonna ask me, it is Arcanis who doesn’t deserve a Queen like her.
But the goddess of the moon had blessed Arcanis and sent an Angel to be your King’s fated mate. I think all kingdoms would be jealous of Arcanis from now on," Elandir replied.
"Why are you only saying this now?" Elsa asked with a bit of irritation since Elandir knows how desperate she was to know what kind of being her father was.
"Don’t get upset, I also just found out from your mother when I fetched Rocco. I told her what happened here and that’s why she finally revealed your true identity. I was not planning to reveal it since she wanted to tell you herself but I think she won’t get angry that I did since the situation here calls for it."
"Are–"
Elsa was not able to continue because the elders suddenly went to their knees and bowed down.
"We are very sorry Luna, Our Queen, Your Majesty! It was very rude of us to question your bloodline and capability. Please forgive us."
The other elders did the same and pleaded for forgiveness but Elsa’s only reply was a heavy sigh.
"Your Luna might forgive you, but I am the Alpha and I am not done yet with all of you!" Chris roared with his loud voice, his alpha aura emanating from the assembly hall, causing the council to shiver in fear.
