Chapter 187: Two Nights

Elandir took the seashell necklace out of his pocket, summoned a totem, and placed it on the ship’s wooden floor. He whispered a spell on the necklace and yelled at Rylie who was near him busy blocking the shadow balls that were being thrown at them.

"Rylie! What do you wish for right now?"

Rylie frowned at the ridiculous question of Elandir and asked, "Are you really asking me that now? Can’t you see I’m busy?" she answered while looking alternately between the shadow balls and Elandir.

"Yes! This is important. What do you wish for at this moment? I need it for a spell," Elandir clarified.

"Oh! Alright, I wish for the sea to swallow all these demons and bury them in the depths of the ocean!" Rylie yelled back.

Elandir smirked and gathered all the air that his lungs could inhale before giving all his strength into blowing the seashell. It did not produce any sounds but soon everyone witnessed that the water around them started to create a lot of ripples and waves, as if something was disturbing it underneath.

The next thing they heard was voices... Voices of women singing a wonderful perfect melody.

"COVER YOUR DAMN EARS!" Elandir shouted. Some covered their ears and the rest who were near Dasher and Rylie went to the side as they created a dome barrier that was soundproof within their range.

Creatures with long hair and beautiful colorful tails emerged from the ocean and started grabbing the demons as they jumped out and back to the water, pulling them under using their very fast speed.

Andrius squinted his eyes trying to look closely at the beautiful creatures from afar and asked Elandir who was with him inside Rylie’s dome barrier, "What are those woman-looking fish?"

"Mermaids," Elandir smirked at the shocked face of Prince Andrius.

"Mermaids are real?" the prince asked and squinted his eyes again to get a better look at the mermaids who were too far for him to see clearly.

"Of course, they are real. They lurk just within and near Qiryn’s water. Like the other creatures in Vectus, they were once humans who were cursed. They also benefit from the Moon Wells and Tree of Life in Qiryn. They have a version of it under the sea and therefore could not go far or else they will be weak then die eventually."

"Wow, Qiryn is amazing," Rylie commented.

Elandir chuckled proudly and said, "Yes, my dear. Qiryn is really amazing. It is home to many other creatures that you never thought existed and the elves were tasked to protect them."

When all the demons walking on the water have been taken underwater, the mermaids turn their attention to the demons’ ships and start attacking the ship’s haul. However, the demons did the stand there watching, they too, started attacking the mermaids causing casualties on the mermaid’s side.

"We have to help them, Elandir!" Prince Andrius exclaimed.

"We can’t. Their singing will make us lose our sanity and we will jump into the water," Elandir replied.

"I think, I can do something. But it’s not tested, who wants to try?" Rylie mentioned.

"Do it to me. I’ll be your test subject," Arla bravely stepped forward making Rylie nod in agreement.

Rylie conjured two tiny water balls and placed them on Arla’s ear opening and shouted, "Can you hear me?!"

Arla replied, "Yes! It’s not working. But I get your idea. I will try it with mud, pour some water on my dirt."

Rylie did what Arla requested, and Arla copied what Rylie did. She turned the mud into tiny mud balls, placed it on her ears, and hardened it with her earth magic.

"Shout at me again," Arla told Rylie.

And will all her might Rylie screamed, "CAN YOU HEAR ME STIIL?"

"No, I cannot anymore, but I’ve read your lips so I understood," Arla said and did the same thing to the people within Rylie’s Dome barrier. When everyone had their mud earplugs, Rylie took off the barrier and started steering their ship toward the demons’ ship.

As soon as their ship was in range, Arla and the other water mages started casting their spells against the demons and mermaid. Attack spells for the demons and protective spells for the mermaids.

Prince Drake saw what was happening at the main deck but could not move from their spot since Dasher’s dome barrier requires channeling and therefore once he move from his spot the barrier will be broken.

"Dasher, we have to do something," Prince Drake said.

"Unless you can cover your ears while firing your crossbow then I could remove this barrier," Dasher replied.

"That’s it! Let’s cover our ears and go down there so we can ask Arla to block our hearing too," Prince Drake said.

"Alright, on three. One, two..."

"ARLA! WATCH OUT!"

Dasher stopped counting when Kaizer yelled but then again they were still inside the dome barrier and no can could hear their voices except for the three of them.

Kaizer’s screaming prompted Prince Drake to look at Arla and what he saw almost took his soul out from his body.

Arla had a shadow spear pierced on her stomach and was already lying on the ground.

A demon who climbed their ship from the back got past their defenses and struck Arla from behind. It was too late for everyone to stop the attack when they saw the shadow spear coming towards Arla’s back. And since she was wearing her mud earplug, she was not able to hear the warnings of others.

Baahu was about to run to Arla but he saw Rylie running to his sister’s aid so he continued his attack on the enemy’s ship. He was furious and used that anger to strike the ship with endless attack spells.

Andrius ran after the demon who struck Arla and was able to kill it.

Drake was in tears when he reached Arla who was being healed by Rylie. He quickly took her hand and showered it with kisses, surprising Rylie. Good thing Dasher was just behind the prince and was able to create another dome barrier around them.

"Rylie, please heal her, please I beg you," Drake pleaded.

Rylie was able to grasp what Drake said by reading his lips and replied, "I can heal her wound, but she needs diving healing for the dark magic. I just hope we can reach Zemaria before the dark magic consumes her energy."

"I’ll get you a divine mage as soon as we kill those damn demons. Please take care of her, I’ll deal with these bastards," Prince Drake said before covering his ears and going to Baahu for the mud ear cover.

When Drake, Dasher, and Kaizer finally got their ears covered, they also joined the attack which soon destroyed the ship completely. The mermaid’s singing soon faded as they dragged and pulled every demon in sight underwater.

Elandir who stood near the edge of the ship removed his earplug while staring at the last mermaid on the water who was coming toward him. "Long time no see, Marina," he uttered.

"I miss you, my prince. Did you miss me?" the mermaid Marina said.

"Maybe. Thank you for today. But I need one from favor. We have an injured mage, can you and your friends help us get back to Qiryn fast?" Elandir asked.

Marina giggled seductively as the water rose up, bringing her closer to Elandir. "Perhaps, I could make them help you, but you know that nothing is free right?"

"I know. What do you want this time?" Elandir asked after a heavy sigh.

Marina ran her fingers on Elandir’s cheeks and then lips and said, "It’s been a long time since we walked on the ground and we miss it. Perhaps a week of fun with our legs for me and my girlfriends. And as for me, a night with you, with me screaming your name on the bed will make me say yes to your request."

"Maybe I could just use my portal and–"

*SLAP*

Marina slapped Elandir so hard that it caught the attention of the others who heard the loud sound.

Elandir covered his cheek tingling in pain and asked, "What was that for?"

"That’s how I want you to slap my ass when you enter me from behind–mmm..."

Elandir quickly covered Marina’s mouth as he knew that people were looking at them. "Do you really have to announce to everyone that you want me to fuck you, huh?" he whispered.

"Come on, my prince. It’s been years. Just say yes, goddammit! A lot of my girls are injured. A week of fun with elven men would make us forget this incident. And I am only asking for one night with you. What do you say?"

"Make it two nights..." Elandir said as he looked away from Marina.

Marina gasped at the unexpected answer from Elandir, "Really?"

"Yes, only because I need to you find the amethyst necklace from the human ship that sunk around here. That’s why we came here," Elandir said.

"Deal!"

Marina lifted both her hands and took something under her braided long hair from the back of her neck, and showed it to Elandir.

"Is this the necklace you are looking for? I found it a week ago, it was just so beautiful that I couldn’t just leave it on the ocean floor," Marina chuckled.

"Yes, that’s the necklace," they heard Andrius uttered causing Marina to squeal in joy and quickly planted a kiss on Elandir’s lips.

"See you soon, my prince," Marina said. She winked at him before jumping back into the water and soon they felt the ship gain speed and head back to Qiryn. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Prince Andrius pats Elandir’s shoulder who was rubbing his face with both hands in exasperation, "Look’s like you caught a fish!" Andrius teased and laughed before walking away.

"Cunning mermaid!" Elandir exclaimed feeling frustrated as he started recalling the nights that he spent with Marina in the past.
