Chapter 186: Incoming!

"Don’t leave... Don’t you want to hear my answer?"

"Your Highness, I am not sure if I am ready to hear your answer since my feelings for you are different from what you are thinking," Arla gently pulled her hand from his.

But Drake stood up and held both her arms and said, "You don’t know what I am thinking. You have no idea what I am feeling for you all these years. But I don’t have the courage to let you know because I am a coward." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"Don’t say that! You are not a coward. You are the bravest man I have ever known. You defying the King and Queen of Zemaria just to help your half-sister fight for her happiness takes a huge amount of courage that even I could not imagine. So don’t ever say that you are a coward because, in the eyes of many, you are not!" Arla swiftly uttered.

"You don’t know me Arla, and I am sure that when you finally know who I really am, you will not like me anymore. I hold many secrets that could send people to their deaths and serve justice to others but I am brave enough to expose them all. I am that kind of man Arla, who will even accept a man like that?" Drake slowly let go of Arla’s arms with dropped shoulders as he lowered his head.

To his surprise Arla held his chin and slowly lifted it up, saying, "I do, I accept who you are."

Drake looked into her eyes and saw the sincerity of her words. Both didn’t notice how close their faces were to each other, all they knew was that they were both drawn to each other and that other things didn’t matter anymore.

Little by little, both their heads moved closer and closer until their lips touched, utterly sealing the gap in between. It was a sweet soft kiss until Drake could no longer hold his feelings and grasped Arla’s head holding her in place.

He licked her lower lips before invading the inside of her mouth and did the same with her tongue. Arla was overjoyed as she was not expecting the second prince of Zemaria to reciprocate her feelings, but he did.

The prince’s kisses on her lips were so intense, making her clutched to his shirt. It was not her first kiss but Drake’s kisses were so good that they erased all her other memories about the other men that she had kissed before.

Drake doesn’t care anymore. He doesn’t care if they are of different status. He knows that his mother would certainly not approve of Arla but he cannot deny his feelings for her anymore. He doesn’t care even if his father kicks him out of the castle as long as he and Arla would be together.

"INCOMING!!!"

Drake and Arla pulled away from each other after hearing someone scream.

"We are under attack!" one of the crew shouted prompting both of them to run to their designated places.

"Arla wait!" Drake shouted when Arla suddenly turned around.

"We both have to go," Arla exclaimed.

"Yes, yes. But promise me, we will talk about us after this," Drake pleaded.

Arla nodded and said, "Yes, after this."

Drake gave her a quick kiss on the lips before walking away. He quickly looked for Andruis to get information about their enemies and found him in the center of the main deck giving orders.

"Andrius! Who is attacking? I thought we were on cease-fire?" Drake immediately asked his brother.

"Yes, we are. It’s the demons. Looks like they are searching for the necklace too. Queen Yvonne surely commanded them to get rid of the evidence to protect her accomplice. She pulled out the witches and werewolves but of course, she cannot her held liable for the demons’ actions. Fuck that bitch, so cunning!" Andrius exclaimed.

Drake smirked at Andrius and said, "Good, so we can kill them all. No holding back."

Andrius smiled back and nodded, "Go to your position. Dasher and Kaizer are waiting for you."

Drake briskly heads towards the top deck where the long-range fighters are placed. One of the crew handed him his crossbow and said, "Your Highness, your arrows are up there already."

He positioned himself between Kaizer and Dasher and said, "You ready boys?"

"Fire away, My Prince," Kaizer said. Drake positioned his crossbow and quickly fired five arrows at a time into the air. Kaizer cast a spell to set the arrows on fire while Dasher manipulated the wind to push the arrows fast and far since the enemy’s ship was still out of their range.

Three of the flaming arrows hit the main deck of the enemy’s ship while the other two hit their already rolled-up sail causing everyone to cheer.

"Yes!" Kaizer shouted.

"Bullseye bitches!!!" Dasher screamed, making everyone laugh.

"Let’s give them more love, shall we?" Drake said and accidentally caught Arla looking at him smiling. She gave him two thumbs up making him blush like a teenager.

"DRAKE WATCH OUT!" Andrius shouted.

Baahu’s voice was heard next, "WHAT THE FUCK ARLA! SHIELD!" pulling Arla’s attention back to the enemy.

Her eyes widened nearly to the point of disbelief as she witnessed a cannonball hurtling towards the ship’s upper deck, where Prince Drake, Kaizer, and Dasher stood.

Reacting swiftly, Arla summoned the dirt from the barrel they had brought. "CLYPEUS TERRAE!!!" she exclaimed, channeling all her strength to conjure a massive earthen shield that enveloped the top deck.

Baahu acted with speed, striking the cannonball with another earthen sphere to divert it away from their ship, causing it to plummet into the sea.

Before their eyes, the demons unveiled their mastery of black magic, manipulating the mystical forces to grant them the ability to effortlessly traverse the water’s surface, enabling a rapid approach to their ship.

"Argh!!! These demons are relentless! They make me do things I don’t want to! Damn you all!" Elandir exclaimed before reaching for the necklace in his pocket that King Tyrion gave him.
