The Royal Mark-Chapter 177: No Turning Back

Baahu remained quiet and continued eating his food. He always makes sure that Lexi is blocked from their bond to keep her safe. Even though he didn’t want to leave her there, he knew that he had to in order to free her and the rest of Arcanis forever.

Even though a week had already passed since their first night together he won’t be able to forget it as if it was just yesterday...

That night Queen Yvonne went to the Kurzen Kingdom with Prince Christopher to meet Princess Neia. Prince Christopher requested to see his sister in person to make sure that she was fine and was being treated the way a princess should be.

The witch queen agreed without suspecting the plan that was laid by King Alaric to sneak out Baahu and Lexi to do the marking and complete the mate bond.

"Baahu... Follow me," Baahu heard King Alaric say after entering without knocking in the guest chamber that he was sharing with Kaizer and Dasher in Arcanis.

"Why should I follow a tyrant king like you? You are not even my king, so get lost," Baahu replied.

"I agree with what you said but right now, I and my nephew are working together toward a common; and that is to rescue and free my niece Princess Neia from the hands of the demon king. If you would follow me, Alexandra is in another room waiting for you and she will explain the details further. Decline now and you will lose this chance forever."

Baahu looked at Dasher and Kaizer who nodded to show their approval of him going with King Alaric. Baahu stood up without saying a word and followed the king out of the guest chamber.

When they reached the room where Lexi was, the king stopped in front of the door and did not go in. An old woman was standing there as well and he immediately recognized what was on the table beside her since it was the same things that were used during the mating ritual of Prince Christopher and Princess Elsa to imitate the full moon.

"Who’s going through a mating ritual?" he asked King Alaric.

"I’m impressed that you know what are these for. Inside the room is Alexandra and this is to trick her wolf that it’s the full moon to start the mating ritual," King Alaric said.

That instantly made Baahu’s blood boil, he clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. He was ready to burst into the room to get Lexi but the priestess extended her hand to him.

Baahu’s frown deepened, he was utterly confounded on what was going on.

"I’ve talked to Alexandra and she proposed a solution on how can we achieve the goal that I mentioned earlier. She said you are his mate and you are aware of that. Chris will be in Kurzen with Yvonne for five days, just enough time for Alexandra to mark you and your mating ritual.

After that, you and the rest will be sent back to Zemaria. I cannot discuss any details further or else the cursed worm in the priestess’ arm will travel to her heart and that would kill her. So it’s either you trust Alexandra on her decision to help us with our goal, let her mark you and be her husband or you decline this opportunity and go back to Zemaria after five days and never see Alexandra again."

Baahu’s heart pounded hard after hearing King Alaric’s explanation. He felt the heavy weight that was now resting on his shoulder, but as much as he wanted to accept the offer to actually tie Lexi to him forever he didn’t want to make a rush decision.

Their mother, Lady Constance would always say that among her children, he is the one who does not think twice and always makes a decision at the peak of his emotions, while Arla his younger sister was the born leader. But with Lexi, he wanted to make it right.

"I understand. I know how this ritual goes that Lexi is inside and has completed half of the preparation already and therefore, I cannot see her. But can I talk to her in private even though it’s just through the door?" Baahu said.

King Alaric nodded and opened the door a bit. "Alexandra. I believe you heard everything. The priestess and I will go to the last room in the hallway, where we can’t hear you. Baahu will call us when you are done talking."

Baahu stood by the slightly opened door and waited for King Alaric and the priestess to enter the last room in the hallway before he started speaking with Lexi, "Lexi... Are you sure you want to do this? I don’t want you to make a decision just because other people are pressuring you to do so."

"No one is pressuring me, Baahu. I want this, you are my mate, and for us werewolves, it’s a blessing to find our mate, since not everyone does. You have no idea how hard it was for me to restrain my wolf the first time I met you. But it is who I am worried about.

You are not like us, you don’t feel what we feel when we find our mate. I don’t want to push you into something that you don’t want bec–"

"I want you. I really do want you, Lexi," Baahu interrupted to let her know that he was on the same page as her.

He slowly pushed the door to see her but Lexi quickly stopped him, saying, "Wait! Let me tell you first why we need to do this. If we are bonded, I can send you a message with my thoughts. If I will just think about it and not directly talk to you via our bond then the choker will not hurt me. But you must not reach out to me or much better block me. Any message coming from you will activate the choker. This way I can be Zemaria’s spy in Arcanis and you and the rest can retrieve Luna Elsa and re-group with Zemaria."

Baahu did not waste any second and replied right away, "Okay. Let’s do it."

"Are you sure? If I mark you then it means we are married, husband and wife. We will also be bonded for life. I will be able to hear your thoughts and feel your emotions. Are you ready for that?"

"Yes, I am. Since I will be able to hear and feel yours too. I have nothing to hide from you."

"O-Okay, r-remember there’s no t-turning back... C-Call the priestess when y-you are ready," Lexi was glad that Baahu was ready to accept her but at the same time she was as nervous as hell. Never in her mind had she imagined her mating ritual with Baahu would be like this... Easy but nerve-wracking.
