The Royal Mark-Chapter 170: Sexy, Handsome, and Manly

"Arla, can you and the others enchant the lifeboat so that it will sail to Qiryn on its own and also add a protection spell? Ciel talked to me about Elsa’s amethyst necklace. She’s getting a bad aura from it. Elsa said it’s Hera’s necklace but I want to take precautionary measures," Chris ordered.

"We’ll do it right away, Your Highness," Arla replied.

’In case of an attack, I want you to prioritize getting your Luna to the boat. Carry her or tie her if you need to. Do whatever you need to make her safe, she’s our only hope of defeating the witch queen,’ Chris told Aeson through their link.

Elsa was so busy training that she didn’t notice what everyone was doing. Nile kept coaching her while Ciel kept nagging at her.

"Will you or Dasher be able to detect if someone is approaching us?" Chris asked Rylie.

"Unfortunately, we cannot do that, Your Highness. The ocean and sky are vast and not solid, however, if we are on land, earth elements can detect vibrations on the ground and the mage will be able to presume what is coming," Rylie informed Chris.

While the rest were busy doing their tasks, Lexi went to the galley where Baahu was. He volunteered to cook for everyone since he is good at it.

"Can I help you, my lady?" Baahu asked, startling Lexi.

She was hiding behind the door watching Baahu cooking.

"Y-Yes... No! I mean, do you need help? I-I can help you. The prince and princess did not give me any task. Arla said I can help the others, but they don’t need help too. Can I help you instead?" Lexi stammered as she informs Baahu. But the truth was, she asked for help from Chris so she could woo her mate, who still had no idea about it.

"It won’t be so gentleman of me if I will let a beautiful young lady dirty her hands in the kitchen."

Lexi instantly blushed upon hearing that, but she was determined to get close to her mate and make him fall in love with her.

"I-I insist. I know how to cook too. My mom made sure of it. Perhaps we can exchange some of our kingdom’s specialty dishes?" Lexi asserted.

Baahu smiled, "That would be a good idea, my lady. Let’s do that. How about today you help me since I already peeled some of the vegetables, the tomorrow, I will help you. How about that?"

Lexi’s eyes glittered and smiled widely, "Yes, that works for me. Can you also do me another favor?"

"Anything for a lovely lady," Baahu complimented once again making Lexi blush once more.

"Can you drop the ’my lady’ and call me by my name? Call me Lexi," she shyly uttered.

Baahu was surprised at first but he quickly fixed his expression and nodded in agreement.

"So, what are we doing for dinner?" Lexi asked Baahu.

"Barbecue for the meat, since Kaizer insisted that we gather on the main deck tonight. There will be mashed potatoes and mixed vegetable medley. You can peel the potatoes, they are cold enough."

Lexi did what she was told but she also couldn’t help glancing at Baahu quite pretty often. She watched his brown hair sway as he sliced the meat that they would use for the barbecue. He has green eyes like his sister Arla.

Baahu felt like someone was staring at him and looked at Lexi. He was not wrong but he also noticed her hand and his eyes widened seeing blood on Lexi’s hand and the potatoes she was peeling. He quickly dropped the knife he was using and ran to the opposite side of the table where Lexi was.

"My lady! I mean Lexi, your hand is bleeding!" He briskly dipped the towel on the table into the water and wiped her hand before putting enough pressure to stop the bleeding.

"I-I’m sorry! I did not notice it," Lexi too, was surprised that she did not feel a thing.

Baahu chuckled seeing how flustered she was, "Do I have something on my face that you were hesitant to tell me? If you were not staring at me, you wouldn’t accidentally cut your finger."

Lexi’s face became redder than before and scolded herself, ’What are you doing? Get ahold of yourself!’

"N-No, you d-don’t have something on your face," she replied.

Baahu squinted and asked, "Do I make you uncomfortable?"

Lexi shook her hand and said, "No, why would you think that?" 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

Baahu looked at the floor and scratched the back of his neck. "Well, I noticed that you would stutter and lower your head whenever you talk to me so I thought perhaps you are scared of me. I wouldn’t blame you though, I am used to it. Because I am big and have this scar on my face that I got while fighting back then. The children usually run away when they see me, and a lot of women stay away from me. So I thought perhaps you are feeling the same," Baahu shyly stated.

Lexi frowned, her mood had totally shifted. "How dare those women get scared of you! Yes, you are big and it is because of your toned and muscular body, which is very sexy. The scar on your face makes you unique and it just shows how fearless you are, which is very manly and brave.

Can’t they see how beautiful your green eyes are and how handsome you are when your hair sways in the wind? Don’t mind them, they are just blind and stupid, and don’t know how to recognize beauty," Lexi uttered without pause.

Baahu stared at Lexi and asked, "Do you like me, Lexi?"

"Of course, I do. I mean...what?" Lexi was dumbstruck by Baahu’s question and started recalling what she just said. ’I’m doomed!’ she thought.

"Well, you are the first person to say that I am sexy, handsome, and manly."

"Did I say that? Well, if I did it’s because you are. In Arcanis, those traits are what we appreciate more. Not the sexy part... I mean the manly part or your braveness... I mean your scar... we always see others naked when we shift... And most werewolves are big... Not down there... I mean their body... It’s very common–" Lexi panicked and struggled to find the right words but Baahu interrupted her.

"You are not answering my question... Do you like me?" he asked while moving closer.

Lexi looked away from Baahu, she was feeling very nervous and she had never been nervous talking to a man like this before. His scent was making her wolf go crazy and she was trying her best to act normally but was failing miserably.

"We all like you, I mean what’s not to like about you?"

Baahu gently touched her chin and made her look into his eyes. "I am not talking about the others. I am talking about your feelings for me. Do you like me as a man? Do you have feelings for me?"

Lexi could feel her heart beating so fast and she was starting to have difficulty breathing so she tried to look away once more but Baahu tightened his grip on her chin and moved his face closer to hers.

"Because if you are going to ask me. I like you, Lexi. I like you as a woman. But I thought you were afraid of me so I kept my distance from you. I don’t want to scare you away. But hearing everything you said a while ago gave me hope that perhaps you like me too. So do you like me too, like the way I like you?" Baahu’s gaze alternately at her lips and eyes while waiting for her answer.

"I-I..." Lexi froze when she felt Baahu’s arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her closer to his body.

Baahu couldn’t wait anymore for her answer, her lips were really tempting him, and he didn’t want to miss that opportunity, "Tell me have you been kissed before, my lady?"

"I told you to call, mmm," Lexi was not able to finish her sentence for her mouth was sealed by Baahu’s lips.

She grasped on his arms for the sensation of his lips on hers made her knees weak. She was on cloud nine, she could not believe that this day would come sooner than what she expected. She even thought that he didn’t like her for he always kept his distance from her.

It was her first kiss and she didn’t know what she was doing, but Baahu noticed that so he gently and slowly guided her.

’Damn, her lips are so soft,’ Baahu said to himself.

He figured that it was Lexi’s first so he promised himself to be patient with her. And since Lexi is reciprocating his kiss, he assumes that she already accepted him and swears to himself that he will definitely take care of her from now on.
