Chapter 169: Don’t You Dare Give Up on Me

"That is absurd, Your Majesty. We cannot permit what Princess Elsa wants. That staff rightfully belongs to us. No other race should have it!" one of the council said.

Another one voiced his opinion, "Both humans and werewolves are full of greed, they will use it for their own selfishness!"

Elsa rolled her eyes at the last comment and rebutted, "Excuse me... If my husband really wanted to use it for his own selfishness then he could have used it already to defeat his uncle, don’t you think?"

"She has a point," Elandir joined in.

"Perhaps it is you who brainwashed the princess to be in your favor. After all, you are friends with the Prince of Arcanis!" someone from the council said.

The debate continued and Elsa was getting impatient. She is worried about Chris and the others and she doesn’t know how long she can maintain the calmness that she is trying to show everyone. It’s only a matter of time before her patience runs out and she doesn’t want to leave a bad impression on the elves.

"Can we please get back on the issue at hand? This staff was given to Arcanis and it will remain with us until you make up your mind. I am so sorry but I have to leave. I need to find my husband, but the offer still remains," Elsa declared and was about to walk out of the hall when the king stopped her.

"Hold on, Princess..."

[Elsa! Come to your room quickly! Heal Ciel, she’s badly injured. Frieda took your staff! I am chasing after her!] Gaia called out.

"WHAT?!!!" Elsa yelled, jolting everyone, they weren’t expecting her to answer like that when the king stopped her.

"Show respect to the king!" one of the councilmen exclaimed.

"I have no time for this," she said to Elandir. The servant your mother sent to me, stole the mithril staff and hurt my dog!"

Everybody heard her and followed her immediately after she ran out of the council hall.

Elsa felt numbed, she couldn’t imagine Ciel getting hurt. Even though she’s old, she will not think twice about protecting Elsa and everything that’s important to her, including the staff.

’Ciel! Please hold on!’ she called out through their link but Ciel did not reply. Her tears started to fall, and many possible worst-case scenarios entered her mind.

The door of her room was open and she was not wrong. Ciel’s white coat and mouth are covered with blood. Frieda stabbed her in the stomach and is almost dead.

"Ciel!" She almost dived to the floor to reach Ciel and heal her as quickly as possible. "Goddamnit! Ciel! Don’t you dare give up on me! I fucking forbid you!"

Elandir arrived and saw the heartbreaking scene. He quickly left to run after the thief.

King Tyrion ordered to search the place, "Comb every place in Qiryn. No one shall come back until the staff is retrieved! I want that thief alive!"

The queen had heard of the incident and quickly went to Elsa, only to find her hugging Ciel and crying. Her dress, hands, and face were full of Ciel’s blood but she didn’t care.

"Princess... What happened?" Queen Ydril asked.

"Ciel is dead. I couldn’t heal her. She lost too much blood," she then gently lay down Ciel back on the floor and glared at the queen. "You! You sent that servant to distract me, don’t you? So you could get the staff back! I trusted you! But in the end, you are just one cunning elf!"

The queen felt fear as Elsa’s eyes started to become bright. She had never feared any humans before since they were lesser beings in terms of power and strength compared to the elves. But with Elsa, she trembled. She felt the immense power that Elsa had within her. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

She raised and waved her hands from left to right and explained, "I didn’t send you a servant. I instructed everyone to not disturb you for I know you needed some rest after what happened. I swear to our goddess that it is not me!"

Elsa believed her right away, she didn’t know why but she didn’t want to waste her time there. She wanted to find Frieda and make her suffer before killing her.

She went out of her room and reached out to Gaia, ’Are you still running after that bitch?’

[I lost her, I am with Elandir, we are looking for her in the woods going south.]

Elsa lost it.

She saw some members of the Elven Council outside the castle murmuring to each other as if nothing had happened.

Flames started to materialize in Elsa’s hands as she approached the councilmen, "Who? The. Fuck. Stole. My. Staff?!" She screamed and threw fireballs at the councilmen who quickly dodged her attack.

She saw Elven Royal Guards running in her direction, and she was definitely not in the mood to deal with them. She gathered her energy on her feet and chanted, "Ignis undam!" Flame blasted from her feet forming a wave that striked outward.

The royal guards immediately fell down and rolled on the ground in pain, while some quickly extinguished the fire on their clothing.

She went to where Gaia and Elandir were and passed the council hall. Some of the other Elven Council who were still outside the hall hurriedly ran inside. The two guards who were stationed there ran towards her ready to attack.

"Ignis blastum!" Elsa shoots her pyro blast at the two guards, knocking them down.

"GET THE HELL OUT! Who ordered the killing of my dog and stealing my staff?!" Elsa tried to open the door but it did not work. She stepped back and chanted, "Imber Ignis!"

She felt nothing but anger and rage. She will not let the culprit live, and she will avenge Ciel’s death.

Small fireballs dropped from the sky, burning the council hall. The area it covered was huge and the effect was devastating, causing her to drain her mana fast. She felt dizzy and slowly suffocated until she was starting to have difficulty breathing.

Her vision went black, her mana was completely drained but she still kept her spell up until she dropped to the ground.
