Chapter 139: Stubborn One

"So... What are we going to do with my dress that you destroyed, AGAIN!" Elsa rolled her eyes while still lying on top of the desk.

Chris smirked and said, "Easy. I will ask Laureen to get your clothes and bring them here."

"You told her what we are doing in here?!"

"I don’t have to, she’s a werewolf. She probably already heard and smelled us earlier. I only ask her to make your family get out of this room."

"That is so embarrassing," Elsa said, covering her face with both her hands.

"We are a newly married couple so that’s understandable. Don’t worry about her," Chris took her hand and kissed the back of it while telling Laureen to get Elsa some clothes through their mind link.

It took them a while before they were ready to join the others in the assembly hall and when they entered the hall, all heads turned in their direction. Causing them to freeze on the spot.

"There you are! The servants couldn’t find you two. Where have you been? I almost thought that you two were kidnapped by the enemies!" King Allister said with worry in his voice.

"Uhm–" Elsa’s brain turned blank she didn’t expect the ’warm welcome’ from her grandfather and was not able to think of an excuse. Good thing, she’s not alone.

"The princess felt a bit dizzy because of her new mind link to our pack as Luna so we went out to get some fresh air," Chris quickly said.

"Is she alright now?" King Allister inquired.

"Yes, Your Majesty. I am okay now, you don’t have to worry."

"Okay then, please take a seat. We were discussing our plans."

Elsa and Chris took the empty seats on the long rectangular table near the King. Elsa just listened to everyone, taking mental notes of the things that could be useful while Chris did the talking.

"My wife will stay here since she needs to train with her mages. It will just be me who will join the–"

"No way I’m staying here without you!" Elsa exclaimed, interrupting Chris as he explained his plan to the King.

"Elsa, it is dangerous there and you haven’t learned how to control your elements yet," Chris said in a calm voice, hoping to persuade his wife, even though he knows how stubborn she is.

"You will be needing healers too. I can stay on the rear post if you want. I will help the healers there and train when I have the opportunity, just take me with you." Elsa pleaded with Chris. There’s just no way that she will stay in the castle and even if her husband does not agree she will still go with him.

"Dear, it is dangerous there. Besides, we are deploying enough healers there. It would be better for you to stay here," King Allister implored.

Elsa glared at Chris and gave him a stern warning through their bond. ’You better take me with you, mister! Or I will go there myself!’

Chris propped his elbows on the table and ran both his hands on his face in frustration, ’I don’t know what to do with you.’

Elsa rolled her eyes at Chris, ’Are we going to argue about this? Oh, I am so ready for it.’

Chris sighed and faced King Allister. "Your Majesty, your granddaughter is a stubborn one. So I would suggest allowing her to follow me to the east only after she learned a few necessary skills as a mage to help her protect herself in case it’s needed."

Elsa dropped her jaw. She wanted to go right away but then again after it sank in, it’s not that bad after. All she has to do is train and learn as fast as she can and everything will be alright.

"Fair enough. Kaizer, I believe you are in charge of her training right?" King Allister asked the fire mage.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Kaizer replied tersely.

"What spell can she learn in a short amount of time, and how long will it take?" the king followed up.

"Fireball, Your Majesty. Mages usually learn them after three months, but the fastest is a month. If the princess agrees, we can start training right away," Kaizer replied.

Elsa closed her eyes and breathed in deeply. She pinched the bridge of her nose and said to herself, ’Calm down girl. You were able to shoot Chris tiny fireballs before, you are almost here. You can do this!’

She was not aware that everyone was looking at her, waiting for her reply. When she opened her eyes she was speechless to see everyone staring at her.

"So, what is it gonna be Princess Elsa?" King Allister asked.

"Yes, I’ll take it. Just to make it clear. I only need to learn fireball right? Then I can go after that?" Elsa clarified.

"Yes. I think both me and Prince Christopher will agree on that," the king said, Chris nodded at the same time.

Elsa stood up and said, "I better start training then." She then walked out of the assembly hall followed by her mages and ladies-in-waiting.

’Make sure to say goodbye to me before you leave. Or I’ll make sure you are the first to taste my fireball,’ she said to Chris via their bond.

"She is surely angry," he muttered which King Allister heard since he was sitting beside him.

The king laughed at how Chris’ mood changed to a gloomy one, "It’s ok son, you will have more arguments in the future. It’s normal for husbands and wives. She’ll surely come around."

Chris sighed and nodded to the king with a thin smile.

Elsa was not in a good mood, stomping her feet as she walked back to their new room.

"Princess, where are you going? If you want to start training, we have to go to the training ground," Arla said.

"I need to change. I cannot move freely wearing a dress like this," she answered before turning to Laureen. "Get me a leather pants and a leather sleeveless top. The one that hunters wear when they hunt."

Rylie and Arla frowned at what they heard. "B-But Princess, women do not wear pants in Zemaria. P-Plus you’re a princess you cannot do that. As your lady-in-waiting, I am against it," Rylie asserted.

"Well, guess what? I will be the first princess to do that. I don’t care what everyone thinks. I can’t train and shoot fireballs in a dress. It’s too restricting, I want to move freely," Elsa declared as she continued to walk. She focused on formulating her plan in her mind and blocked Arla and Rylie’s voices from her ears as they blabbered their concerns and pointed out their traditions.

’Laureen, can you hear me?’ Elsa tried her mind link with the others for the first time after being declared as Luna.

’Wow, it’s amazing to hear your voice in my mind. I can hear you loud and clear,’ Laureen held a smile while walking towards the leatherworker.

’Do you think you can get a red or at least near to that color?’ Elsa asked.

Laureen giggled, ’I didn’t know our Luna is quite choosy when it comes to clothing."

’Hahaha! I am not, but it reflects my mood right now. I am pissed off at my husband.’

’Please don’t be. He is just worried you’ll get hurt. I don’t know what kind of life you had back then but werewolves are fast, witches cast powerful spells, and demons are cunning so if you really want to follow the prince to battle, you have to be prepared.’

’I know that. I guess I am angry at myself for not being able to control my own powers," Elsa sighed, after finally admitting to herself how she really felt.

’Don’t doubt yourself, princess. All the werewolves whom you shared your powers with know that you are powerful. We all felt it no doubt about it. You just need a little training and you’ll be able to control your elements in no time.’ Laureen remarked.

’Thank you for your encouragement. It is effective.’ Both women laughed. Elsa now feels that Vectus can really be her home. Even though she still misses her home back in Novus and her life there, there are a lot of people in Zemaria that is making her feel as if she was born here.

’I hope you both are doing well there,’ Elsa said to herself as she thought of Nadel and Jai. Even though she knew it was impossible to see her friends again, in her heart, she still wished for that. With everything that she had seen in Zemaria, she already believes that nothing is impossible anymore.

Chris still owes her a promise to check her dad in Novus and maybe when that time comes, she could spare a moment to see her two friends even from afar. Especially her best friend Nadel. They separated so suddenly that she was not able to say goodbye at least.

That thought just motivated her to do well in her training. If even the strong werewolves believe that she is powerful then she will prove them right and help end the war so she and Chris can go back to Novus and look for her dad as soon as possible.
