The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance-Chapter 73: Rights

Mathew slammed his hand on the table.

"Stanley is back in the pack, and he is already looking into Charles’s identity. In no time, he will be close to figuring out about everything!" Mathew raised his voice in agitation.

Everything had been going so smoothly for him recently that this sudden obstacle set him off. Stanley’s connections in the pack ran deep and once he was suspicious of anything, he will do the absolute most to get to the bottom.

He already has a hold of a lot of Mathew’s weakness. If he gets to learn what Charles is here to do, he will have complete control over Mathew.

Charles shot him a look of disapproval.

"You lose your calm easily, boy. That can not be done. If he gets too curious, just cut him off at the roots," Charles vocalised. "Only by keeping your mind steady will you be able to carefully plan."

Bella nodded.

"Mathew, no one knows what is going on other than three of us. There is no way for the Beta to figure things out."

Before Mathew was able to respond, his phone rang up, and it was a call from Alpha James of Yellow Arrow pack. Seeing the name caused a frown to settle on his face, knowing it can not be for anything good.

"Alpha Mathew, I learned from the council that Beta Stanley of your pack managed to get the rights of the mines from the Council. He is quite impressive, more so than you as the Alpha." There was a clear mocking intent in his voice.

Mathew was surprised to hear this. It had only been three days since Stanley had arrived in the pack, and he already managed to deal with the Council.

Mathew realized he underestimated the power of the Beta.

"He has the rights over them since the previous Alpha assigned him as Violet’s guardian," Mathew replied. Mathew hardly bought that though.

"That is the affair of your pack. I don’t care about it, but there is a part of that mine which belongs to me. I am coming over to your pack to discuss about the compensation."

Alpha James then hung up the call, not bothering to hear his response.

The burning fury within Mathew caused him to throw the phone against the wall, allowing it to break down into pieces.

Violet realized how the atmosphere between Lydia and Lucas had been stiff from that day onwards. Before they were at least willing to argue with each other, but now they didn’t even bother glancing at each other, as if they have come out with a silent agreement of ignoring each other.

Violet sighed helplessly.

Although the Alpha told her to not interfere, Violet found it difficult to simply stand by, doing nothing.

Therefore, Violet tiptoed into Sylas’s room upon finding it open. She did not know from when she dropped her manners, not bothering to knock. Sylas too considered it a norm as he did not call her out for her behaviour.

Violet then slipped over to stand behind the Alpha. As the man leaned against the couch, reading the book in his hand, he resembled an elegant and beautiful painting that has come to life.

Violet truly felt out of place.

But she did not let her inferiority pull her back. Violet grabbed his shoulder and gently massaged them, applying right amount of pressure and strength.

She then asked, "Does it feel good?"

"I don’t have a habit of making others press my shoulder," Sylas pointed out.

Violet giggled. "Of course, I know that, Alpha. I just wanted to do something for you."

"Or rather you want something from me?" Sylas did not lift his attention from the book.

This made Violet frown for a second. She wanted him to look at her, but Violet quickly fixed her expression.

"Alpha, how could that be?" Violet responded then quickly following it up with, "Well, Alpha, I think it would be great if we held a picnic. You know, it would give everyone a good opportunity to bond. What do you think?"

Violet’s willful side then came into action. Releasing his shoulder, she came to stand in front of him. She pulled down his book and stared at him directly in the eyes.

Her round hazel eyes met with steely blue ones.

They were determined and pleading.

Sylas knocked on her forehead with his finger. "You’re turning more and more audacious."

"Well, doesn’t that mean I am becoming more comfortable around you, Alpha? It’s a good thing," Violet pointed out. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

"If your intent behind holding a picnic is to being Lucas and Lydia together, then you’re placing your energy in the wrong place. Leave them to handle their affair," Sylas informed her.

"Alpha, I did not think that far. I just wanted to enjoy a nice meal under the warm sun. Now is the perfect weather since it’s perfectly sunny and breezy. I found an absolutely perfect place as well."

Sylas stared silently at the girl who used to be once wary and frightened of him. Now, no matter how he acted, she let go of all her defenses, acting free with him.

She even dared to lie whenever she felt like it.

And knowing her, she was going to chatter away until she hears a positive response from him. She understood he has a book to get back to and wanted to be left alone.

"Alpha, I will pick fresh strawberries for you, alright? What strawberry dessert would like? A strawberry cream cake? Or—"

"I will let Lydia and Lucas know. Does that please you?" Sylas cut her off.

Violet raised her hand in joy.

Her excitement made her wrap her hands around Sylas and hug him tightly. Then, the impulse made her place a soft kiss on his cheek.

Only when she pulled away did the realization of what she had done hit her.

There was mix of embarrassment and horror in her eyes.

She extended her hand, trying to rub off Sylas’s cheeks.

"Eh? Alpha, I am sorry. I didn’t mean to molest you again."
