The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 315 - 308: A Weasel or a Fool! (2)
As the group of young men barged in, the waiter immediately turned around. "Students, what’s all this about?" he asked, a look of surprise on his face. He could already sense the hostile air they brought with them.
Before the intruders could answer the waiter, the girl at the table—the one who had remarked that Qin Fan wouldn’t miss the cost of a meal—abruptly shot to her feet. "Wei Yuxuan, what is the meaning of this?!" she shouted, her face flushed with anger.
Qin Fan and his friends were all taken aback. They know each other?
"If you have something to say, let’s take it outside! Don’t bother my friends!" the girl said again, moving as if to walk around the table.
"Du Ruanqing, getting a guilty conscience?" The leader of the group, Wei Yuxuan, stared at her with his hands in his pockets, his voice laced with pain. He was completely unmoved by her suggestion to talk outside.
"Hey, buddy, what’s your problem? Trying to start something?" Li Qiuzhe leaped to his feet, his expression defiant. "Can’t you see we’re eating? Are you blind or just heartless? Didn’t your parents or your teachers ever teach you how rude this is?"
A Northerner can lose anything but his swagger, anything but his guts!
"Shut up! You have no right to speak here!" Before Wei Yuxuan could even react, his friends pointed at Li Qiuzhe and roared.
Instantly, Wang Dalu and Zhu Houqing shot to their feet.
Facing the group, Zhu Houqing challenged them, "We reserved this private room! If we don’t have the right to speak, does that mean only you do? Buddy, you can act tough, but pick your moments. We’re still on campus here, so let me ask you: who the hell is afraid of who?"
"Are the freshmen this year always so damn cocky?" one of the opposing students sneered, his brow furrowing.
"Ruanqin, what—what’s going on?" Sensing the situation was getting out of hand, Jiang Yino quickly stepped in front of Li Qiuzhe and the others, asking with a worried frown.
"What’s going on? Haha! What’s going on? Du Ruanqing, I get that you’re too ashamed to say it, so I will! You said you wanted to get into Jinling University, so I gave up on Fudan and Jiaotong. I came to Jinling just to be with you! But last year, your score wasn’t high enough, and you went back at the last minute to retake your exams. Fine! I said it was fine! I waited for you, right here at Jinling University! But what was the deal with blocking me right after the exams? It took me forever to get back in touch with you. Fine, I’m a sucker, I can let the past go. But then you refuse to even meet up with me? And it’s one thing to refuse, but you lie and say you’re busy with ’dorm stuff,’ only for me to find you here? Haha, is this how you ’handle dorm stuff’? Du Ruanqing, oh Du Ruanqing, was our three-year high school friendship really that cheap to you? Ask yourself, is your conscience clear?"
Wei Yuxuan bit out every word through clenched teeth, feeling his heart shatter into pieces. Reason told him he shouldn’t have shown up like this, but he couldn’t stand it. He couldn’t accept that all his efforts had just been washed away. He needed an explanation. He needed Du Ruanqing to give him one.
As Wei Yuxuan finished his tirade, Qin Fan turned to the waiter and smiled calmly. "Sir, you have our order, right? If you’ve got it all down, you can head out. Please ask the kitchen to hurry up with the food."
He seemed completely unfazed by the confrontation erupting before him.
"Right away!" the waiter replied and quickly exited. He didn’t seem to care much about the students’ drama. As a simple waiter, he didn’t dare get involved; he would just go report this to his manager.
"Wei Yuxuan, since you’ve put it all out there, fine, I’ll be honest with you!" Du Ruanqing began, reflexively glancing toward Qin Fan before continuing with frustrated resignation. "Didn’t I tell you not to make such a pointless choice? Didn’t I tell you not to pick Jinling University for my sake? I told you more than once that it’s impossible between us! I don’t have those kinds of feelings for you. We were classmates for three years, and the whole class knew it was impossible. Why did you have to be so obsessed? You gave up Fudan and Jiaotong, and honestly, I felt sorry for you. I kept trying to get you to change your mind, not to make such a foolish mistake for me, but you were just stubborn and wouldn’t listen. What could I do? What else could I possibly do? No feelings means no feelings. You can’t force it, don’t you understand? As for blocking you, refusing to meet, and making excuses about being busy... I just wanted you to give up. I wanted you to let go! I wanted you to stop falling into this vortex that was never going to blossom, let alone bear fruit! Wei Yuxuan, I’m begging you. Let me go, and let yourself go, too!"
Now that Wei Yuxuan was determined to air all their dirty laundry, there was no point in her holding back either.
"You reject me, you lie to me, again and again, and now you’re here laughing and joking with this bunch of scumbags? What do you take me for? A fool? You of all people know how much I gave up for you, Du Ruanqing! Our classmates know! How can you do this with a clear conscience? Huh?!" Wei Yuxuan screamed, on the verge of a frenzy.
But Li Qiuzhe couldn’t take it anymore.
Scumbags? Go fuck yourself!
"Who the hell are you calling scumbags, you little bastard? Just because she doesn’t have feelings for you, she’s supposed to feel guilty? What would it take for her to be decent in your book, huh? Get naked and jump into your bed? I’ve seen shameless people, but you take the cake! Idiot! You’re a complete and total idiot! Nobody has to treat you like one; you’re already the number one fool! Fuck, you’re sick!" Li Qiuzhe spat back, thoroughly enraged.
"Qiuze, stop! This has nothing to do with you!" Du Ruanqing cried out anxiously, realizing Wei Yuxuan was already on edge.
"What do you mean it’s none of my business! If he wants to act like a fool, he can do it outside! But he can’t throw his weight around in our private room! I may be a freshman, but a Northerner fears no one! Why should we let him act all high and mighty and scream at us? On what grounds?!" Li Qiuzhe retorted, refusing to back down.
Wei Yuxuan’s breathing grew heavier and more ragged, an explosion seeming imminent.
He sneered at Du Ruanqing. "You actually eat with people of this caliber? Du Ruanqing, you reject me over and over again, only to run off and hang out with these scumbags? You’re really something else, you know that?"
"Wei Yuxuan, don’t you dare go too far!" Du Ruanqing’s expression turned glacial as she snapped.
"Too far? Am I the one going too far, or are you?! You’d rather eat and drink with these scumbags than even meet up with me! Who the fuck is the one going too far here!" Pointing a finger at Du Ruanqing, Wei Yuxuan’s face turned beet-red as the veins on his neck bulged with rage.
Damn it!
On the sidelines, Li Qiuzhe was about to lose it. ’Scumbags’ this, ’scumbags’ that. Did this guy really think he was some kind of elite?
Brother Ze from the Northeast isn’t about to fucking swallow this insult!
But before he could erupt, Wei Yuxuan suddenly whipped his head around to face him.
With a chilling voice, he said, "Weren’t you just asking me on what grounds? Fine, I’ll tell you. It’s because I can pin you to the ground and grind you into the dirt! Get them!"
