The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 316 - 309: Tell Me, On What Basis! (3)
From King You of Zhou, who lit the beacon fires just to see his consort smile, to Wu Sangui, who threw open the gates to the Qing army in a rage for his beloved. A lover’s embrace is a hero’s tomb; beauty is but a painted skeleton, a fatal allure. Such sayings are perfectly apt for these moments in life.
However, Wei Yuxuan felt a nerve had been struck deep within him, even though his and Du Ruanqin’s story had not even truly begun. Du Ruanqin’s rejection, her decision to stay with this group of degenerates, and her declaration that tore away all pretense—it was all too much. Frustration, anger, and a plethora of other emotions intertwined in Wei Yuxuan’s chest and finally erupted!
Just last year, he was a freshman newly enrolled at Jinling University. Today, he was the Vice President of the Taekwondo Club. His intense concern for Du Ruanqin had driven him, a campus veteran, to rush to Jinling University on the first day of freshman registration. But to be met with such a scene? How could he possibly not explode?
With a single command, the Taekwondo Club students immediately lunged toward Li Qiuzhe. Judging by the contemptuous looks on their faces, they seemed to think taking him down would be effortless.
But before they could even get close, Qin Fan, who had been playfully rolling a paper napkin at the other end of the table, smirked. He snatched the wads from the tabletop, clenched them in his palm, and flicked them toward the charging students.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
Not a single one missed. Despite the three or four-meter distance, each wad struck a student squarely. A series of soft, dull thuds echoed as they made contact. The next moment, all of them cried out in pain and collapsed to the floor.
In that instant, everyone in the room—besides the fallen students—stared with wide, unblinking eyes. A few small wads of paper can knock people down? This isn’t a movie, is it? If not for the clear hostility between the two groups, everyone would have sworn they were watching a performance.
SWISH!
In an instant, every head in the room—Jiang Yino and the other girls, Li Qiuzhe’s two friends, and even Wei Yuxuan himself—snapped toward Qin Fan in utter disbelief.
"What are you looking at me for? Never studied physics?" Qin Fan asked with a playful smirk.
What the hell? Physics? Is he trying to say speed generates force? But it’s just a damn paper wad! A used napkin, at that! How could something like that generate so much power?
But Qin Fan’s explanation failed to quell their disbelief.
"F-Fourth Brother, how did you do that?" Wang Dalu stammered, his tongue feeling thick with disbelief.
"Just an accident. I considered that speed could be converted into force, but I didn’t expect this kind of result," Qin Fan said, casually brushing it off. "Alright, you three, stop gawking! Didn’t they want to grind our big brother into the floor and make him sing ’Conquer’? Tie them up!"
Tie them up? Seriously? Holy crap!
The words shocked Li Qiuzhe and his friends into a stupor.
Wei Yuxuan, however, was jolted back to his senses. "You son of a bitch!" he roared. "You’re looking for death!"
With that, he shot toward Qin Fan like an arrow.
"Be careful!" Du Ruanqin screamed in alarm.
She had been his high school classmate for three years and knew he had studied Taekwondo since he was a child. Back in high school, ordinary students couldn’t get near him, and he had even single-handedly taken care of street thugs. Knowing this, Du Ruanqin was genuinely terrified.
Hearing the concern for his opponent in Du Ruanqin’s voice, Wei Yuxuan grew even more furious. His face twisted into a mask of loathing as he launched a flurry of punches and kicks at Qin Fan.
SMACK!
Just as Wei Yuxuan closed in, Qin Fan smiled and sprang to his feet. With a ghostly movement, he sidestepped the attack and slapped twice, intercepting Wei Yuxuan’s incoming fist and kick.
In that instant, under the heavy force of Qin Fan’s slaps, a burning numbness shot through Wei Yuxuan’s limbs. His body immediately lost its balance, and he tumbled to the ground.
With the exception of Xu Jiayi, the other three girls, including Jiang Yino, stared dumbfounded, as if they’d been struck by lightning. First, he took down several students with a few paper wads. Now, he’s floored the ferocious Wei Yuxuan with two slaps. Is he the top-scoring scholar or a martial arts master? This is insane! Absolutely insane!
Ignoring the girls’ incredulous expressions, Qin Fan stepped forward and planted his foot on Wei Yuxuan’s chest. "Tell me," he sneered, "what gives you the right?"
"You... how is this possible!" Wei Yuxuan gasped in horror, enduring the searing numbness in his limbs.
"The world is full of impossible things," Qin Fan replied with a wicked grin. He then turned to his three roommates from 708. "Stop staring! Tie them up and make them sing ’Conquer’!"
"Oh! Oh, right!" Li Qiuzhe snapped out of his daze and scrambled clumsily toward the fallen students.
"Fourth Brother, are... are we really tying them up?" Zhu Houqing asked, swallowing hard.
"Will they sing if we don’t?" Qin Fan’s lips curled into a mischievous smirk.
"Second Brother, Third Brother, stop talking and let’s go! Before they recover!" Li Qiuzhe urged. He loved the idea of tying people up and making them sing ’Conquer’!
"You fucking dare!" one of the students yelled, staggering to his feet.
"There’s nothing a Northeasterner wouldn’t dare to do!" Li Qiuzhe bellowed heroically and lunged, tackling the student back to the ground.
Just then, Zhu Houqing and Wang Dalu quickly scanned the room and spotted a bundle of zip ties. Without a second thought, they grabbed a handful and, amidst the student’s struggles and curses, bound his hands.
"Divine Bone, don’t! Please, don’t!" Du Ruanqin cried out, finally snapping back to her senses and trembling. "Let’s just drop it, okay? Please don’t do this!"
With his foot still on Wei Yuxuan, Qin Fan turned his head and smiled at Jiang Yino. "Yinuo, what do you think?"
"You’re just going to make them sing ’Conquer’? You’re not going to hit them, right?" Jiang Yino asked after a moment’s hesitation.
"Right!" Qin Fan confirmed with a smile. He asked her because he knew that deep down, the campus belle harbored a passionate hatred for injustice. He believed that, given the chance, she wouldn’t mind seeing these arrogant guys taught a lesson.
"Ruanqin, this started as an issue between you two, but the moment they threw a punch, it became a matter between the guys," Jiang Yino said, turning to Du Ruanqin. "As long as no one gets hurt, let them knock these arrogant punks down a peg!"
This...!
Du Ruanqin bit her lip. She glanced at Qin Fan with uncertainty, then took a deep breath. "Divine Bone, please let them go. This all started because of me. I don’t want you guys to get in trouble over this." As she spoke, an anxious, pleading look filled her eyes.
Yes, she didn’t like Wei Yuxuan; she had even blocked him to make him give up. But they had been classmates for three years. She had seen everything he had done for her. Could she really just stand by and watch him be humiliated like this? I can’t. I really can’t!
"Heh." Qin Fan let out a soft chuckle. He looked down at Wei Yuxuan beneath his foot and said mockingly, "Making a girl plead your case for you. I have to say, you do have some charm. Heh-heh."
But as soon as Qin Fan’s taunting words landed, Wei Yuxuan reacted as if his tail had been stepped on again. His emotions instantly flared up once more.
