The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate-Chapter 94: The chosen Fate - II
He took off his helmet that you would during the ride and then got off his horses and others got to carefit. His eyes did not leave mine and the thought of Tristan did not come off my mind as I looked at Prince Terrence. There were familiar eyes and then those were both interestingly similar and I wonder how I was able to match them. They were two completely different individuals with incomplete different levels of hierarchy in the society and two people who had the difference of land and sky in between them. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
His eyes were filled with twinkling emotions that I could not even imagine the name of. They just seem to be the friend yet gentle as compared to the other Prince I had met in my entire life. His lips were lifted up in a subtle smug as it did not want to be obvious.
The moment he reached me and there was only a difference of 5 or 6 steps between us I bowed my head respectfully and curtized in front of him like I was strange to do for the past years of my life since I had learnt about the treaty.
"Your highness," I greeted, "I hope you had no trouble reaching here."
He smiled and shook his head, doing his own courtesy. "It was a beautiful journey Princess."
As we was still in public The Prince moved forward to greet my king with respect. I had glanced at him as he talks to the king and the queen put their booked by us forward as a was searching for a particular face in the crowd.
At my father’s command or a fast move Den and the prince and his company was given a separate wing of guests tourist and. We all were going to meet at the time of lunch and the prince was going to be asked to join us for a feast.
"Ginny!" I felt a small body Slam into me and arms wrapped around. A smile graced my face as I hugged her back. "I missed you little one."
She giggled and I frowned when I looked at her face. There were dark circles under eyes and as a child expected Catherine to even sleep in the afternoon.
"Catherine, darling," I cupped her cheek, " why do you have dark circles on your face? Are you not resting well?"
Her smile faltered and I did not miss that. Katherine might be young but I was still like a second mother to her.
"Nothing, i—"
"Your grace," a maid bowed in front of me and I asked her to continue, "his highness the king has asked you to take an early afternoon tea with the prince for refreshment."
I could barely hold in the sarcasm and eyebrow that I was going to raise. It was only weeks ago that my father had accused me of bedding prince lysar when I had then been in an audience with him along with my ladies in waiting. Now he wanted me to be with Prince Tristan for afternoon refreshments.
The irony was not lost on me.
I nodded. "Now?"
"Yes, your highness. The king has made the necessary arrangements for the balcony facing the royal gardens." She answered immediately which meant that they had been preparing this for quite some time and I could tell that it was something Queen Mira would do.
She wanted it to happen and since she could not use her wet like every other Queen she had to resort to the sources of seduction.
"You should go." I had Catherine say. "It is far more important than knowing why I have dark skin under my eyes."
I smiled and patted her cheek. " You are equally important to me, love. However, I must go now." I smiled sadly at her, sad that our time had been cut short but she gave me a well encouraging smile. It seemed like my Catherine had grown up in the few weeks that I had been gone.
Making sure to tell her once again to rest well I moved forward to the balcony that was quite spacious and was facing the luxury of royale gardens. When I entered the room I saw two maids standing at opposite sides of the room as one opened my door. Every refreshment was there from citrusy to sweet along with every dessert that one could possibly want to have with afternoon tea.
"When is he coming here?" I asked her as I looked in front of me to the beautiful gardens that I had surely missed while I was in the neighbouring Kingdom.
No matter what country I may go to, these gardens were the most beautiful ones.
"He has been informed, Your highness. His highness was taking a bath when it was conveyed to him so he must be reaching anytime soon."
I glanced at her and then nodded looking back to the gardens. He won’t be reaching here and time soon and if he did I would be surprised. Prince’s were usually delayed because of their extravagance and the hierarchy they had. They knew their importance in the society and the day was no one above them which is why they had no problem in making people wait.
"Did I make you wait long?" I immediately turned to the door and stood up.
"I tried to hurry as soon as possible to reach here. I did not have any intention of making you wait."
Color me surprised, when I saw that top of his button was unbuttoned and even his sleeves unbuttoned along with his wet hair that look like they had not been tried at all.
"No, no, I had just arrived as well." I continued to stare at the water dripping from his hair not knowing what else to say. Should I tell him to take his time and go back instead?
"Would you like some tea?" I pointed to the pot containing hot boiling water and he nodded with a smile on his face.
"I would but I hope you don’t mind me drawing my hair. In a hurry I forgot about that completely." His cheeks reddened and I smiled politely as I watched a servant hand himmat all and he continued, himself, to dry his hair. To be honest I have half expected him to let the maid for a servant do that for him.
I put the tea along with some sugar and made sure to mix it well as he tried his hair and there handed it to the servant who left after which he came and sat in front of me.
"Here," I handed him the cup along with a small plate. He took it gratefully and even thanked me for it. By far his manners differed a lot from the prince I had met.
"So how did you truly feel about the journey? I know you must have been polite to say that to me in front of everyone."
He smiled and laughed lightly. "Yes, it’s true. The journey was overly tiring because I was supposed to get here earlier than required as my mother pushed back my Coronation."
Now that he himself came on the topic it became easier for me to talk about it.
I offered him a plate of biscuits as I asked him the next question. "Yes your highness, I was wondering about that as well. Was there a particular reason why the coronation was pushed back for the and our marriage was brought forward instead?"
His hand which was previously raising the biscuit to his lips halted and his eyes snapped to me. If anything I could feel the aggressiveness coming from him towards me for the question I have asked. I knew that there was a deep reason behind it.
" It is something that only the family knows." He started to talk as it broke the biscuit into two, "hopefully mother would tell you when you go there along with me."
Mother?
Queen Emailia’s words rang into my mind when she said that he was a puppet controlled by his mother. Why would he not tell me when we would go back to his Kingdom?
I gulped slightly before continuing the conversation. "The queen question mark perhaps you could tell me that is well when we reach your country." I said in a chirpy voice with a nice smile on my face.
He sighed harshly and leaned back in his chair. He crossed his legs and his ankle came upon his other leg’s knee. He stared at me as as his arms by his side.
"What if I don’t want to? When I said that my mother would be telling you it means my mother would be telling you."
My smile faulted when he took the name of his mother once war. I would have been completely fine with that but the way he said it told me that he expected his mother to do it for him rather than doing it himself.
" I understand," I forced a smile. "Well, would you like a pastry?"
" No." He muttered and watched out of the balcony.
I lowered my eyes and focused on my tea.
